Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1242: Queen Kong
[Jungle Monarch: Great Ape’s Wisdom].
This was the name of the Major World Class Aether formula that allowed Kongara Dodorado to establish the Golden Gorilla Union and cement its position in the ports of Amber Shore.
Cultivators of this formula will become blessed with not just the absurd strength and tough bodies that characterize great ape-type aether beasts, but tap into the strange spiritual abilities that these creatures have.
In a way, this formula allows non-Bloodliners to develop Bloodliner-like abilities and enables Bloodliners to effectively double their innate beastial abilities.
The price to gain such abilities was not cheap in the slightest.
Once they reach the peak of Aether Lord, there is a bottleneck that can only be broken through a specific method detailed in the name of the formula itself, rather the series it was part of, [Jungle Monarch].
Similar to a certain ocean-focused aether formula, the [Jungle Monarch] formulas require a cultivator to acquire the core of an aether beast that matches the specific formula’s name.
[Jungle Monarch: Tiger’s Wrath] requires the core of a tiger-type aether beast.
[Jungle Monarch: Macaw’s Vainity] requires the core of a macaw-type aether beast.
[Jungle Monarch: Great Ape’s Wisdom] requires the core of a great ape-type aether beast.
Unlike that aforementioned oceanic formula, which allowed one to make use of a core that someone else had hunted, the [Jungle Monarch] formulas required its cultivator to perform a ritualistic hunt on their own.
The Aether Lord in question must track down a corresponding aether beast group, challenge the leader to a duel to the death, and then use the now rightly earned aether beast core to augment their formula and reach the rank of Aether King.
Unless this specific ritual is carried out, then the cultivator will forever be stuck at the peak of Aether Lord.
After all, how can one be the king of the jungle without taking the crown from the existing?
However, there is an exception to this rule.
Every monarch needs their heir, and every heir needs to be taught the ways of ruling and nurtured to achieve this height.
As such, as long as the parent and child are both practitioners of this formula and the parent is stronger than the child at any given moment, then the parent can undergo the hunt on their child’s behalf and skip out on the agony of possibly losing their child.
On the flip side, though, this would mean that that hypothetical child would be faced with the possibility of losing their parent instead.
And would have to live forever with the guilt that their loved one had passed on, all for the sake of securing an unknown future.
Then again, some say guilt is a powerful motivator.

[Great Ape Spirit Body!]
ROAR!
As the distorted mirror versions of herself began to encircle her, Kidanna held nothing back as she activated an aether art that went hand in hand with her formula.
A giant spiritual construct, resembling a Goldenback Gorilla, enveloped Kidanna’s body for a brief moment before merging with her and amplifying her power by several magnitudes.
Reflecting this change, her [Regalia] became more luxurious in its design, while her [Astra] looked even more devastating than before. On top of that, though, her body underneath the [Regalia] became noticeably larger and bulkier.
[!]
[!!]
[!!!]
Sensing the impending danger, the three reflections of Kidanna proceeded to try and rush towards her like wolves attempting to take down a bear.
Unfortunately for them, this metaphorical bear was more than ready to meet the charge.
[Wild Cudgel!] Kidanna roared as she swung her club-like [Astra] at her evil copies in a wild arc.
Kidanna had no idea what kind of devious abilities these reflections of her were infused when the mirrors spawn them, but she didn’t care.
All she knew was that there were enemies in front of her, and she was finally able to beat some catharsis into the one person she felt was responsible for her dear old dad’s death: herself.
Well, these strange reflections weren’t perfect clones of Kidanna, but she didn’t care.
The principal was the same, and that was all that mattered.
Clang!
Swish!
Bang!
As she expected, each of her clones had their own weird way og defending against her attack.
The blue mirror version had actually managed to block the attack entirely and took several steps back as a result.
The black mirror version had transformed themselves into smoke while charging forward, avoiding the attack entirely.
While the last one, the red mirror version, took the blow entirely and was sent flying into a nearby wall.
However, this version of Kidanna managed to get back on to her feet almost immediately after getting blown away.
Regardless, with two out of three of the reflections being too far to do anything productive, the black mirror version of Kidanna had transformed back from her smoke form and attempted to strike at the real one with an overhead smash.
BAM!
^Is that all you got?!^
That didn’t amount to much.
Kidanna’s [Regalia] proved far too tough for this mirror version of her to do any real damage, so the latter’s club ended up shattering into pieces, while leaving her vulnerable to a follow-up attack.
[Golden Fist of Rage!]
BOOM!
The black mirror version of Kidanna didn’t even have time to dodge or change back into smoke before Kidanna slammed an aether cladded golden fist directly into her chest and sent her tumbling backwards.

If the target had been a regular mortal, their spines would’ve been shattered while a fist-shaped indent would’ve been left in their chest cavity.
Undeterred by the sight of their companion getting struck down in such a brutal manner, though, the red and blue mirror versions of Kidanna attempted to rush from the left and right of Kidanna with similar looking but very different attacks.
The blue mirror version began to channel a type of aether that caused her club to become engulf in deep blue flames and radiate a feeling of intense aggression, as if she was wielding the literal flame of war.
The red mirror version on the other hand, had a strangely contradictory aura wrapped around her weapon, as it simultaneously gave off the feeling of a blessed spring day and a horribly diseased cesspool at the same time.
^Whoa!^
Kidanna may have been tough, but even she knew better than to tank two aether-enhanced attacks at the same time.
Ducking down low and sliding her feet away from herself and the assaulting clones, Kidanna positioned herself precisely three feet from her original position and a mere two feet away from the attacking mirror clones, giving her ample room to attack once more.
[Wild Cudgel!]
Once again, Kidanna swung her club-like [Astra] in a wide arc in order to impact the clones, ideally smacking one into the other.
This was a logical outcome for Kidanna to have, due to her being positioned perfectly behind the bitches and this technically worked last time.
However, that didn’t happen.
Clang!
^What the fuck?!^
Instead, the blue version of Kidanna managed to block the original’s attack into a stand still. This in turn, allowed the red version of Kidanna to adjust herself and counter attack.
Using the opportunity that her counterpart gave her, the red Kidanna opted to bring down an aether enhanced axe kick atop the original’s head.
BOOM!
^Missed!^
[Raging Headsmash!]
BANG!
However, Kidanna’s warrior instincts and reflexes were faster than her double, so she was able to not only juke her head away at the last minute, but follow it up with a headbutt that was aimed at her copy’s chin.
If her opponent wasn’t a weird mirror copy, this attack would’ve led to the latter’s head getting rattled by the force.
Unfortunately, this heavy blow left Kidanna wide open for the blue version to launch a palm strike against her stomach.
"GRK!"
While the blow didn’t deal any external wounds, the palm strike sent a surge of burning aether into her internals and fuck with her stomach.
Kidanna felt incredibly tempted to vomit at this moment, but she knew better than to spill her guts in the middle of a battle.
GULP!
[Great Kong’s Raging Blast!]
Which is why she decided to blow out their heads instead.
Once she swallowed down her vomit and pain, Kidanna flooded her throat with aether before concentrating it into an energy sphere and spotting directly into blue Kidanna’s torso.
"!!!"
CRACK!
The blue Kidanna, however, managed to react fast enough so that only her right shoulder was obliterated while her arm was left free to fall and shatter upon the floor.
^Ha! Nailed ya you knock-GRK!^
Unfortunately, Kidanna’s excitement was cut short as the black mirror version of herself had suddenly appeared behind her like a phantom and nearly pierced her abdomen with an aether enhanced claw strike.
At least what she had initially thought was a claw strike.
^Wait...what the fuck?!^
What had actually pierced her side, was a shattered glass arm stump.
