Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1167: One Giant "X" marks the spot
The following is an entry from the textbook, "Aether Cultivation: Universe Exception."
...
Every warrior under the sun is aware of the general aether cultivation process.
Following a formula, a warrior must gather aether and condense it into a ring that will surround their soul.
There are known as ranking rings.
Then, once five rings have been gathered, a warrior must then condense them into a singular band referred to as a stage ring.
While this process can technically be done in any location under any circumstances, it’s been widely confirmed that every formula in existence has an ideal location and condition in mind to facilitate a breakthrough.
For example, many Aquarii based formula prefer their practitioners perform their breakthroughs in areas rich in water while many Terraqi formulas demand a specific landscape when breaking through.
These restrictions get even stranger for the formulas that rely on more... esoteric types of aether.
However, this ideal condition situation only really applies to World Class formulas and below.
Universe class formulas on the other hand, don’t have to worry about external conditions and only demand that their practitioners have the right constitution and/or particular types of aether medicines be readily available.
Because, Universe class formulas, when cultivated, have the side effect of changing the environment around a cultivator to something that is more suitable to itself.
In other words, World class and below formulas have to adapt to the greater Universe.
While Universe class formulas demands that the world and all that inhabit it to adapt to them.
Granted, such changes aren’t permanent...usually.
But the drastic and sudden change between the Universe class formula’s ideal location and the original location has a tendency to lead to...unexpected situations.
Which is why it’s highly recommended that anyone who manages to acquire a Universe class formula to cultivate in either an empty stretch or land or a specialized chamber.
Otherwise, the environmental damage could be...dramatic.

[So that red blinking dot on the map right now is...]
<=A blast zone that our lord is uncomfortably close to, yes,=> Logos and Pathos answered in regards to Nepherage’s question.
[Is the maestro going to be okay?! We never seen anyone else with a Universe class formula before!,] Hurricroak brought up.
<=We mean...unless this guy who’s undergoing a breakthrough has latent dragon force or access to law energy, we think he should be fine. Besides, he’s probably gonna figure out a way to stay safe anyways.=>
[The fuck is law energy?,] Razorstella asked.
_____Speaking of the Universe Class..._____
’Welp, looks like we’re about to stress test my invulnerability to aether stuff, Blazejudicator.’
[Because our choices right now are either getting caught up in that seal or getting caught up in the inevitable pillar of flames?]
’Yuuuuup!’
...
In an empty lot where once stood a shabby little shack, a rather absurd scene was playing out.
Surrounding the lot was the Cortez Trading Company’s private army, all standing at the ready and confused as all hell.
Within the lot itself, two of the Grandmasters of the Cortez Company, Leon and Rama, were busy directing the power of the [Treasure Box of the Nine-Colored Feathered Serpents of Itzumel] towards Zhen Liu, who was repelling the attack with a spinning propeller blade made of bone and empowered by aether flames.
Off to the side, while still in the lot itself, Kendana was staring upward with an aghast expression hidden by his [Regalia]’s mask.
Because floating above everything, was singular ball of fire that was burning a deep crimson.
And from this ball of fire, radiated a threatening feeling that made everyone who was staring at it feel as if they were staring into the maw of an active volcano.
To outsiders, this fire ball was incomprehensible.
To everyone involved in this moment, they knew the fire ball to be Lythero on the cusp of breaking through to the Aether Lord stage.
The Cortez Trading Company had a contingency plan that was meant to deal with Lythero if he ever managed to reach this point.
Unfortunately, that contingency plan was still being used against someone who had become unimportant at this point in time. As such, it was time to redirect and prioritize.
^Leon! Rama!,^ Kendana called out as he began to gather his aether. ^Ignore Dealmaker and redirect the serpents towards that glowing bastard child. Now!^
^Huh? But what about-^
^Forget about Dealmaker, we need to reseal that brat, now!,^ Kendana reiterated as he continued to gather up aether for a big technique.
As he did, a burning aether array accompanied by several phoenix feathers began to manifest behind him. Once they had fully formed, he swung his fist forward.
[Terrestrial Phoenix Feather Sealing Array, Fire!]
With a roar, Kendana fired off his technique and surrounded the aforementioned fire ball with the array. Shortly after that, the phoenix feathers followed suit like a two stage attack.
In the blink of an eye, the fireball had become perforated with phoenix feathers and wrapped up in a seal.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t doing much.
Despite being fully ensnared, the fire ball already showed signs of burning away the sealing elements.
^Redirect your efforts, now!^
^But-!^
^I said, now!^
^As you wish, boss!^
^Fine!^
[Serpents of Itzumel, bind Lythero!]
Heading their leader’s orders, Rama and Leon proceeded to manipulate their aether and redirect the sealing treasure box towards the fireball that Kendana had already sealed.
The reason Rama and Leon were hesitant on wanting to let up the pressure on Zhen Liu was because they were afraid that he could was going to attack them the moment they did.
That didn’t happen.
Instead, Zhen Liu transformed his bone propeller into a drill and dug downwards.
Evidently, the Cortez Trading Company were too busy with other things to notice a panicky Zhen Liu doing his best groundhog impression.
...
’Do ya think they’re gonna realize that their efforts are about to go up in smokes in five seconds?’
[Judging by the fact that they’re still trying to seal him? No, not at all.]
’Remind me to never get that overconfident in a single contingency plan...wait...why are those soldiers just standing around like morons?’
...Speaking of contingencies...
HISS!
^Direct hit!^
Once the torrent of snakes was redirected towards the fireball, the effect was immediate.
The thousands of multicolored feathered serpents summoned from the box ensnared the already sealed fireball and began to coil around it like a thousand chains.
Once completely coiled, the snakes began to retract into the box, dragging the fireball with them.
The sight of this event brought great joy to the controllers of the snakes.
^Excellent!^
^Once that bastard boy is locked inside of this box, we won’t have to worry about him for a hundred years at least!,^ Rama exclaimed with joy.
Leon was about to share in his colleague’s excitement, until he noticed something was decidedly...off.
^Hahaha! Lets see if this young bastard can still...wait a minute is that smoke?^
The serpents binding Lythero at this point in time were starting to emit smoke.

The sight of the smoke wasn’t too worrying at first, as the observing Grandmasters assumed it was only due the fireball itself getting snuffed out by the Gold-tier aether treasure.
HISS...KATICK!
But then they noticed one of the snake bindings has burnt up and returned to the box prematurely.
Then another.
And another.
Until they started burning away at an increasingly rapid pace.
Once this sight settled in, the Cortez Grandmasters finally realized that they were completely and utterly fucked.
And in such a situation, there was only one thing left to do.
Prepare for the inevitable.
While Leon and Rama continued to stare at the burning snakes of their Gold tier treasures with aghast expressions, Kendana had already made his way over to them in order to get them out of their funk and give them new orders.
^Leon, Rama, join hands with me! We need to make a barrier, now! That bastard is about to release a pillar of flames that will-^
^But what about our soldiers?,^ Rama asked. ^If the blaze is going to be as bad as you say it is, then-^
^Forget them! If we don’t block this attack, we’re going to die and this will all be for naught anyways!,^ Kendana replied.
A look of shock appeared on Rama’s face for a brief moment before he nodded in understanding.
The three of them were the main pillars of the company anyways.
Their soldiers could be easily replaced anyways.
^Now then...[Golden Fire Tortoise Shield]!^
With their combined might, the three Grandmasters created a golden shield shaped like a tortoise shell that protected all three of them at the same time.
Just in time too, because shortly after they made their shield, the fireball they tried so hard to suppress suddenly exploded into a pillar of flames.
A pillar of flames with an increasing base.
...
’Bah, why am I not surprised they’re ultimately selfish bastards?’
[To be fair, the world has to be balanced between altruism and selfishness anyways. Otherwise, why would you place yourself here of all places.]
’Yeah, yeah...I just hate random people getting involved in the mistakes and actions of others...besides, I don’t want to use cores gathered from those three...’
