’Well, this is strangely nostalgic,’ Zhen Liu determined as he eventually stopped screaming and began to focus on the horizon in an inexplicably calm manner. ’You know, I have the vague feeling that this is what it was like when I suddenly found my ass incarnating...inhabiting(?)...this body of mine. That or I could just be talking out of my ass.’

[Executor, is now the time to make comments about your situation? We have no idea where we are heading and we can’t contact anyone. How are you not freaking out?]

’No, I am, Blazejudicator. It’s just that I reached that odd level of fear that it just sorta rubber banded into calmness. I’m pretty sure if I don’t keep thinking and talking right now, I might just go back to screaming.’

[Ah...carry on then, Executor.]

’Thank you...I will not lie, by the way, the way y’all refer to me in different ways, kind of reminds me of this mobile game I played back when I was on Earth.’

[Oh? Were there kaijin in this game?]

[Er...sexy cyborgs.]

...

After learning that their cousin was the giant ball of light that had just turned the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant] into...dust, the scions of the Zhen Clan were floored.

But not because they were shocked at the beast’s defeat. Instead, they were floored at the fact that their cousin was now being subjected to the consequences of a teleporation gone wrong and they had little to no chance to stop him from ending up... somewhere.

If they wanted to do something like that, then they needed to somehow move faster than-

"Don’t worry, young master!"

"We’re coming to save your ass!"

BOOM!

"What was that?!," Zhen Tai asked.

"It came from over there!," Zhen Xing answered.

"It was Aranea and Lucille! The latter grabbed the former and flew off after Zhen Liu!," Zhen Guo elaborated.

-Or they could just give Aranea and Lucille the chance to do whatever they had planned.

"Well then...let’s hope to the universe that they can catch up to Zhen Liu before-"

"Hey kids, do you know what that giant ball of light was all about?"

"Fuck!"

"Oh, hello Seventh Uncle. That ball of light just now was..."

...Meanwhile, several miles away...

[OH DEAR MOTHER OF CHAOS!,] Hurricroak exclaimed in alarm while on her knees.

[WHAT DO WE DO? WHAT DO WE DO?!,] Razorstella repeated in an uncharacteristically panicked tone while also running about.

[The...horror...,] Frosttusk muttered while staring off into the distance.

[I knew it! I knew we should’ve dragged our lord with us through the door. Godsdammit!,] Nepherage cursed while kicking the sand.

To say the kaijin were panicking was a bit of an understatement.

As beings literally brought into existence in order to serve a singular being that they were connected to on a very literal spiritual level, the sudden shock of having that connection becoming incredibly muted was head spinning at minimum.

Especially when they knew he was accompanied by another kaijin.

While this wasn’t the first time this particular issue had happened, the prior time was significantly less stress inducing.

The last time this happened, they were still in the [Library of Nowhere] with their unconscious lord being in the care of their most reliable member, Frosttusk.

They were still connected to each other and knew that while their connection to Zhen Liu was off, they at least knew he was okay because of Frosttusk being nearby to relay such information.

It took about the length of an afternoon for Zhen Liu to be brought to medical [Chaos] attention for all of it to be cleared.

Now though, despite being accompanied by Blazejudicator, there was a distinct lack of communication and they had no idea whether or not they would be able to get Zhen Liu back to the Library in time to fix whatever was wrong with him.

To put this into perspective, last time was the equivalent of treating a gunshot wound that was inflicted while standing in the middle of a state-of-the-art hospital. This time, the gunshot wound was inflicted while on a speeding boat in the middle of shark infested waters.

At least, this was how most of the kaijin felt.

[You think we might luck out and be on the same path as the Ringmaster’s flight path?,] Springerdermain asked while doing multiple mental calculations.

[Maybe, but I wouldn’t count on it,] Screamira answered while doing her own calculations.

Due to their shared circumstances of being created in the middle of active war zones, Screamira and Springerdermain were able to keep their cool a bit better than the others.

Then again, this could’ve been their own method of coping with the extreme amount of stress, but who could say for certain.

As the Kaijin continued to have their collective panic attack, a sound of hope rang in their minds.

A sound of hope that consisted of Logos and Pathos giving them an important update.

...

<Okay! I get that we’re all in the middle of a collective panic attack, but calm the fuck down y’all! We have hope!>

[We do?!]

[How?!]

[Explain...]

=We don’t know if it’s luck or coincidence but our Lord’s current trajectory is about a mile away from your current location, and our lord is travelling at a rate that is catchable if y’all manage to intercept it in time.=

[Really?!]

[Huzzah!]

[Let’s get going to-wait...are there any factors we should be worrying about that would prevent us from saving our lord?]

<Well...there’s one thing that might be an issue.>

[Which is...]

=Our lord is currently coated in a layer of [Chaos] and aether that is acting as a protective barrier to...everything. That barrier is what’s preventing us from connecting to our lord on any level pass the most basic.=

[That’s...not good.]

[Wait, are we talking about a barrier that will just repel us or a barrier that will annihilate us on contact?,] Hurricroak asked. [Because there is a massive difference between the two and will determine what our next course of action.]

<=Seeing as he just blasted a whole through the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant], we’re assuming the latter.=>

[Well, fuck.]

[Not to worry, we have a plan.]

[You’re gonna have to follow us though. We’re definitely gonna need help with the set-up.]

[Eh?]

...One sprint across the desert to a spot a mile or so away...

Following Arcahnidame and Lacerage, the the kaijin eventually found themselves in a spot of desert that a medium sized rock formation jutting out of the ground and acting like a raised platform. In the distance, they could see the strange ball of energy that their Lord was currently trapped in and could feel the danger radiating from it.

That said, the kaijin were ready for it as Arcahnidame informed them of the plan as they were running.

Now, all they had to do was to put it into action...and pray to [Chaos] that this worked.

[Alright, everyone know their roles?]

[Yes!]*8

[In that case, mobilize!]

[Earthquake Stomp!]

The first to act was Nepherage, who proceeded to stomp the rock plateau so hard that it crumbled into a hundred little pieces.

[Phantasmal Barrage!]

Next was Springerdermain, who released a barrage of invisible punches that smashed the piece into even finer grains.

[Magnetic Lock!]

Hurricroak then proceeded to use her abilities to create a magnetic field that was strong enough to hold the grains of iron sand that was just exposed by this devastation in mid-air.

[Extreme Blaze!]

Nepherage acted once again, this time releasing burning flames that turned the grains of iron into a pair of molten iron towers.

[Forge Cutter!]

[Deep...Freeze!]

Once erected, Razorstella proceeded to refine the molten towers into more structured buildings by cutting the excess into a proper shape, that was then cooled by Frosttusk sapping the hear directly from the molten metal.

[Ten-Thousand Thread Seal!]

Once the metal had cooled, Arcahnidame proceeded to weave a giant web that spanned across the two structures and make what was essentially a giant net.

Now, this net wouldn’t be enough to put a stop to Zhen Liu’s momentum, but that was where Lacerage and Screamira came in.

[Net is ready, you two. Make it loud!]

[Of course!]

[Is there any other volume?!]

Their job was to slow down their lord to the best of their abilities.

Which was easier said than done, but by thunder they were going to do their absolute FUCKING best.

[Spirit Choir Cannon!]

[Cyclone Buster!]

At the same time, Screamira released a scream that sounded as if a thousand damned soul were strung together into singing one powerful note that trascnsed life and death, while Lacerage released a twisting torrent of wind that surged forward like an arrow of the gods.

The two attacks proceeded to dance in the air together before combining into a singular blast that impacted Zhen Liu’s cannonball.

...

’Okay, worse case scenario, I end up on an entirely different continent and have to-’

BANG!

’What the-OH THANK THE GODS, IT’S MY BOYS!’
