Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!-Chapter 2143: I’m Here to Stir Up Trouble
"Isn’t this all in vain?" Zhao Zizhen shook her head with a touch of self-deprecation. "I thought with such a big setup, something impressive would happen, but it was resolved so quickly."
The number of Outer Zone players who died in the previous battle wasn’t small, yet the losses on Zone 008’s side were quite low. This shows that both players and ordinary people are accustomed to handling emergencies in this way, and are quite skilled and coordinated.
"No wonder Outer Zone players find it so difficult to clear here." Zhao Zizhen seemed somewhat uninterested; after all, so many players couldn’t stir up trouble, so what could she and Xu Huo possibly do?
"It’s not necessarily a bad thing," Xu Huo said. "This scale of battle without drawing Zone 008’s attention shows their classification for unexpected events is different from other zones. Unless a battle reaches a significant scale, it won’t draw assistance from other cities."
"So what?" Zhao Zizhen asked, puzzled.
Xu Huo didn’t answer this question. Small-scale battles being absorbed internally means local security relies heavily on domestic equipment, Law Enforcement Teams, and local player organizations. From the previous situation, when equipment can handle most defenses and blockades, neither player organizations nor Law Enforcement Teams are keen to intervene. So, before the situation escalates, local players aren’t too willing to expend manpower.
In other words, if three to five Outer Zone players start fighting, the first response will be nearby defense and blockade barriers. At this point, the Law Enforcement Team will arrive immediately but won’t necessarily intervene right away.
If the fighting escalates in scope, the Law Enforcement Team will prioritize herding players into the "non-game field" simulated by instruments to lock down personal panels. By this step, most Characteristics and Props are completely locked down, relying then on Super Evolution and personal physical Evolution—this is when the Law Enforcement Team comes in to reap the benefits... Though if it’s a battle between Outer Zone players, there might be a waiting period.
Once the Law Enforcement Team enters the lockdown barrier, their personal panels will likely be similarly restricted. But Zone 008’s various battle instruments are numerous, giving them an advantage over unprepared Outer Zone players. Of course, if someone brings a jammer inside, this advantage might be offset.
Nonetheless, since there’s an advantage to be used, the members dispatched by the Law Enforcement Team will likely possess some special skills, adept at close combat, or having undergone Secondary Evolution. If these advantages aren’t seized, the "non-game field simulation" should soon proactively lift, at which point the Law Enforcement Team with significant losses will swiftly sweep in to conclude the incident.
Therefore, as long as it’s done properly, this square in the Chongming Bird Administrative Region is a great arena.
"Isn’t the instance you want to clear the Declaration of Theft?" Zhao Zizhen suddenly asked.
Xu Huo looked at her, "Why do you say that?"
"Your approach doesn’t seem effective at all," Zhao Zizhen said. "It’s like your main goal isn’t to clear it, but to involve the Tian Family. Do you hold a grudge against the Tian Family?"
As she spoke, she suddenly glanced Xu Huo up and down. "Are you the player provoking the Tian Family?"
The Collection of Information Terminal processed the information quite quickly, but many players have seen the first-hand reports. Changing the cover is simple, but among Outer Zone players targeting the Tian Family, there seems to be only one.
"My identity and my objectives don’t matter," Xu Huo said. "Being with you in the same instance is the one true thing."
"The first batch of players boldly adventuring the Tian Family Transport Company has quieted down; next, more players will probe the Tian Family in different ways."
He continued, "The information about ’Tian Family holding the Declaration of Theft’ on the Collection of Information Terminal hasn’t been deleted. You might as well go near the transport company or Tian Family Laboratory to see—perhaps the one truly holding the declaration is among them."
Zhao Zizhen didn’t show much expression, neither insulting nor harsh even if she felt fooled, instead saying, "You want revenge for the obliterated Brick Tale Town, I respect you for being a brave man. But I still advise you, you’re not strong enough yet. Revenge is best served cold; wait until you become Rank-A to settle the score. If you can’t clear it, even if you turn Zone 008 upside down, you still won’t leave here. You know the situation here: finding a player’s trace is easy."
"That’s all I have to say." With that, she stepped back two paces and then leaped out of the building.
Xu Huo didn’t stay behind for long either, once again leaving the Chongming Bird Administrative Region to return to the Station City.
By now, night had fallen, because of his morning remark about returning tonight, the entire Station City, especially where the Tian Family resides, was fully alert. Not only did the patrolling surveillance instruments and armed robots increase, the rarely seen player organization made an appearance, with players guarding every street, even every teleportation gate.
Since Xu Huo was an Outer Zone player, as soon as he emerged from the teleportation gate, two armed robots and three flying surveillance devices immediately surrounded him, conducting a detailed registration of his identity characteristics, and warning him that after this registration, during his stay it’s best not to make any changes to his appearance. Any change would instantly label him as a danger—at best expelled from the city, at worst arrested or killed on site.
"I understand." Xu Huo signed two words of agreement on the protocol opened by the armed robot.
"Here is your temporary Identity Card, please pin it in a visible place." The robot then handed over a small badge, which he was about to take when suddenly a hand reached out to grab it first—a scholarly-looking man flipped over the Identity Card to check the number, then looked at Xu Huo before stepping forward to pin it on him.
"No trouble," Xu Huo blocked, but the man held his shoulder, speaking soothingly, "I’ve seen many Outer Zone players. Some look timid and fearful at first glance, while others exude a ’I’m here to cause trouble’ aura from head to toe, though troublesome, Zone 008 isn’t afraid of trouble."
"However, for your own life, I suggest you heed my words."
As he spoke, he pinned the Identity Card on Xu Huo’s sleeve.
As if not catching his tone of warning, Xu Huo remained unperturbed, "When in Rome, I will respect Zone 008’s rules and laws."
Pausing, he faced the man. "May I leave now?"
The man stepped back a few paces, "Please go ahead."
