Just A Daoist Who Occasionally Kicks Ass-Chapter 471: The Innkeeper! Daoist Magic Shows Its Power! The Exorcists’ Whereabouts!
As the innkeeper’s words fell, a deadly, oppressive aura immediately enveloped Li Yanchu and the others.
Seeing this, Zhang Wei’s eyes widened in shock. This mysterious inn housed so many terrifying guests, what sort of existence must the innkeeper himself be?
The three of them instinctively stepped back, overwhelmed by the overwhelming aura of menace.
Li Yanchu, however, remained calm. He spoke quietly, “You are the innkeeper here?”
This response seemed to catch the cane-wielding, ghostly innkeeper off guard. He paused for a moment, squinting, then nodded slightly.
“This inn of yours is unlucky, isn’t it? Haunted, you know that?” Li Yanchu said in a low voice.
The innkeeper, Zhang Wei, Master Zhiqing, and Liu Jun all fell speechless. For a moment, silence enveloped the place, and no one spoke.
A murderous glint appeared in the innkeeper’s eyes, and he sneered, “Where are these ghosts? I haven’t seen any.”
“They’re all upstairs,” Li Yanchu said mysteriously, pointing toward the second floor. “Go see for yourself.”
The innkeeper gritted his teeth. “In that case, I suppose I should thank you for the warning.”
“No need. If there weren’t so many ghosts here, I could even drive them out for you free of charge,” Li Yanchu said with a faint smile.
“Now, I suggest you move somewhere else.”
Zhang Wei swallowed hard, gazing at Li Yanchu with admiration.
No wonder you, Senior Cao Cao, can talk so boldly. You really have a way with words.
Li Yanchu rambled on for a moment, seemingly throwing the ghostly, ominous innkeeper off balance.
But very quickly, the innkeeper revealed his murderous intent. A murderous gleam surged in his eyes as he lunged at Li Yanchu.
“Today, you die here!” The innkeeper’s voice was piercingly harsh. The hand he extended was covered in corpse-like blotches, the nails blackened and sickly, giving off a truly chilling aura.
“Freeze,” Li Yanchu said coldly.
With that, the seemingly terrifying innkeeper was instantly immobilized, unable to move. After all, Li Yanchu’s Immobilization Spell was extremely domineering.
He stepped forward and pressed down on the innkeeper’s head. The man’s entire body became soft and malleable, like noodles twisting in his grip. Then, a phantom-like shadow was pulled from his body by Li Yanchu. No matter how the innkeeper struggled, he could not break free.
Daoist art: Soul Snare!
“Am I being too generous?” Li Yanchu gave a cold smile.
With the relentless force in Li Yanchu’s hands, the ghostly innkeeper disappeared, transforming into a ball of black energy that Li Yanchu held tightly.
Meanwhile, the three behind him were stunned, especially Zhang Wei. He had seen Li Yanchu in action in the Blissful Land, and the power had been earth-shakingly terrifying.
But back then, Zhang Wei had mostly felt the overwhelming strength, the immense life force, and the devastating weapons. He hadn’t truly appreciated Li Yanchu’s Dao techniques.
Never thought Senior Cao Cao would master so many mysterious Daoist arts, Zhang Wei thought to himself.
The Soul Snare technique had captured the ghostly innkeeper in Li Yanchu’s palm. If Li Yanchu had used destructive arts like the Samadhi True Fire or Palm Thunder, he could have instantly destroyed the ghost.
But now he had another choice. Li Yanchu grabbed the ball of black energy and forcefully hurled it toward the second floor.
Inside, the terrifying ghosts were engaged in brutal combat, their momentum terrifying. Instantly, dismembered limbs flew through the air, blood spraying wildly. The entire second floor looked like a living hell, thick with the pungent stench of blood.
Earlier, the half-sized boy ghost with a bucket-sized head had his neck completely bitten through by the old woman with the embroidered shoes. Well, strictly speaking, a small patch of skin and flesh still connected his head to his body, dangling grotesquely at his side.
Meanwhile, the old woman, her mouth smeared with fresh, glistening blood, wasn’t faring much better. One of her arms was ripped off by the male guest from Room 5, the middle-aged man who had been lying on the floor naked. The scene was extremely gruesome.
The hulking, massive monster had a mouth full of sharp, white teeth in the center of its palm, and another mouth was at the back of its head. It was relentlessly devouring another ghost.
That ghost was a mature woman dressed in mourning clothes, half of her body already consumed by the towering creature. Her snow-white, jade-smooth body was covered in blood, with marks of teeth biting into her flesh; it was both beautiful and terrifying, making one’s scalp tingle at the sight. Instantly, she forced two fingers into the monster’s eye, gouging it out, finally freeing herself.
“Roar!”
A furious roar echoed, and the hulking monster went into a frenzy, lunging forward violently. At that precise moment, a ball of black energy collided with the monster’s hand. The black energy rapidly took shape, transforming into the innkeeper with a disabled body.
“No!”
The innkeeper regained control over his body, only to realize he had been grabbed directly by the terrifying giant monster. The flesh on his face was brutally torn apart by the mouth in the monster’s palm.
“Ah!!!” A piercing, harrowing scream reverberated throughout the inn.
Meanwhile, Li Yanchu had already led Zhang Wei and Liu Jun out, stepping just beyond the front door.
The innkeeper’s bloodcurdling screams sent shivers down their spines. They now had a clear understanding of this young Daoist’s decisiveness and ruthless efficiency.
Better to anger the ghosts than to provoke Daoist Master Li, thought Master Zhiqing.
This Daoist Master Li simply didn’t follow any conventional rules, and there was a mysterious, unpredictable aura about him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Huge crashes erupted from the inn as black, malevolent energy exploded continuously, engulfing the entire inn in pure, unadulterated blackness. Then, the blackness began consuming the inn bit by bit.
At that moment, Li Yanchu furrowed his brows, surveying his surroundings.
“Someone is secretly watching us!” he said coldly.
A gleam of Daoist light flickered in his eyes as he unleashed Qi Sight. Immediately, he detected one obscure, hidden aura after another. His perception of the world shifted; the buildings disappeared, replaced by clear streams of spiritual energy.
Not only did he identify the owners of the covert gazes, he also discovered two extremely faint auras, which were distinctly human and belonging to two cultivators.
“Follow me. I’ve found the whereabouts of the two missing exorcists.”
After saying this, Li Yanchu strode forward, with the three of them close behind. The mysterious inn behind them was gradually consumed by blackness, until it was completely swallowed, leaving only a pitch-black void. The original inn disappeared entirely.
Soon after, Li Yanchu arrived in front of a residential house. Pushing the door open, he found the room filled with over a dozen horribly mutilated corpses.
These corpses were extremely decomposed, their flesh mangled, with maggots crawling in and out. It was truly nauseating to behold.
