Jujutsu Kaisen: I Can Travel Back in Time-Chapter 30 - 24: Cutting the Bond
Chapter 30 - 24: Cutting the Bond
Gojo Satoru smirked as he leaned against the wall, watching the scene unfold. "See? I told you it would work."
Ito Yuto, kneeling by his son's bedside, had relief written all over his face. He gently placed a hand on Ito Shun's forehead, his fingers trembling slightly. "You're home, Shun. You're safe now."
Geto Suguru stepped back, rubbing his throat slightly. Swallowing a cursed spirit jade—even a lower-grade one—was never a pleasant experience.
"Suguru, what's the taste rating on that one?" Gojo asked casually.
"...Better than the red one, but still disgusting," Geto muttered, shaking his head.
"That's what you get for being the best at handling cursed spirits," Gojo teased, grinning. "Now, where's my reward?"
Ito Yuto turned toward them, momentarily confused. "Reward?"
Gojo placed a hand on his chest, feigning offense. "Didn't I say I'd only call Geto here if you opened all the Puzzle & Dragons equipment?"
The businessman let out a breath, shaking his head with a weak chuckle. "If this is all it takes to save my son, consider it done."
A small "Yes!" escaped from Gojo before he cleared his throat and composed himself. "Well then, mission accomplished! Geto, let's go home."
Geto, despite being exhausted from handling another cursed spirit, nodded. He was more than ready to leave and get some rest.
As they turned to exit the room, Ito Yuto called out, "Wait."
Gojo and Geto paused.
The businessman bowed deeply. "I don't know how to thank you. If you ever need anything, the Ito family owes you a debt."
Gojo waved a hand dismissively. "You already repaid me with game perks."
Ito Yuto blinked, unsure if he was serious or just being Gojo.
Meanwhile, Geto gave a polite nod. "We were just doing our job."

Tomie Kento, who had been silently observing everything, finally let out a relieved sigh. "Well, Gojo-sama, it seems this mission was handled flawlessly. I'll report back to the higher-ups."
Gojo shot him a thumbs-up. "Make sure you tell them I was incredibly professional and responsible."
Tomie hesitated. "I...will phrase it appropriately."
With that, the two young sorcerers left the Ito estate, stepping into the crisp Tokyo night.
On the train ride back to their apartment, Geto slumped into his seat, finally allowing himself to relax. "Satoru, you should've just helped them from the start instead of calling me in."
Gojo leaned back, stretching his arms behind his head. "Oh, but then I wouldn't have gotten free game upgrades."
Geto sighed. "Your priorities are really something."
Gojo grinned. "Come on, Jie! Don't be so serious. Besides, it's not like you would've let a kid suffer."
Geto didn't respond right away, staring out the train window as the city lights blurred past.
"...No, I wouldn't," he finally admitted.
Gojo glanced at him before looking up at the ceiling. "That's why I called you."
For once, Geto didn't argue.
After a few minutes, Gojo turned to him. "By the way, you still owe me that caramel pudding."
Geto groaned. "I just handled two missions back-to-back. Make it yourself."
Gojo gasped dramatically. "Betrayal!"
"Go to sleep, Satoru."
As Gojo continued to whine about his tragic loss, Geto closed his eyes, finally letting exhaustion pull him under.
At least this mission didn't involve anything blowing up.
Maybe next time, they'd actually get some peace.
(But knowing Gojo Satoru, probably not.)
