Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 509 Tian Peng is Taken Away, The Jade Emperor’s Displeasure
Sun Wukong felt somewhat helpless, "Master, your expectations for me are really too high. There are so many people here, I’m already working hard just making milk tea, and now you even want me to recognize people. Let your disciple take a break, will you?"
"You sly one, alright then, if you want to take a break, no problem, you can go back now," Chen Nuo teased.
Sun Wukong immediately fell silent, "Master, I was just joking with you. Who said anything about leaving? Even if Tian Peng were to leave, I wouldn’t."
"Shopkeeper, who is this?" Tian Peng still hadn’t recognized He Xi. He thought He Xi looked somewhat familiar, but didn’t know where he had seen her before.
"It’s been such a long time, and you still haven’t recognized her?" Chen Nuo said, "Could it be that you’re too heartbroken, so you didn’t even think in this direction?"
Tian Peng hadn’t been in a good state all day. Making milk tea was fine for him because he had developed muscle memory from doing it so much, but guessing who people were was something he really didn’t have the heart or the energy for.
"It’s me, He Xi," He Xi replied.
After she said her name, Sun Wukong suddenly remembered who this little fairy was. He slapped his thigh, "Oh! You’re that one, from the mortal world!"
He Xi nodded, "It’s me."
"What’s going on here? How did you ascend to immortality?" Tian Peng was also surprised. He looked He Xi over and couldn’t detect a hint of Immortal Qi on her.
"No, it was me who brought her here. I listened to someone else’s suggestion yesterday and thought they made a lot of sense, so I brought He Xi over," Chen Nuo said.
Sun Wukong was quite amazed, "Then Master, did you bring her here specifically for us to see?"
"Why would I bring her here for you to see?" Chen Nuo smiled, "Raising a child is my responsibility, suggestions came from others, I just happened to pass by and wanted to see if you guys were working diligently."
"Master, what are you talking about? We clearly have been working hard," Sun Wukong protested with a sense of grievance.
"So Shopkeeper, what are you planning to do?" Tian Peng asked.
In order to not disturb the other divine officials buying milk tea, Chen Nuo sat on the seat inside the counter to talk with them. While speaking, Sun Wukong and Tian Peng were also seriously making milk tea.
Chen Nuo observed Tian Peng’s condition; since coming back last night, Tian Peng had been listless, vastly different from his former self, making one quite unaccustomed to see.
"Tian Peng, how are you feeling? If you’re uncomfortable in any way, you can tell me," Chen Nuo expressed concern, "Or I can give you a few days off. Whether you want to stay at home or go out for fun, it’s all fine."
Tian Peng gave a bitter smile, "Shopkeeper, I’m fine. Please let me keep working here. I feel that I’m still okay, although not in the best condition, but I am working seriously. If I can’t even work, I truly wouldn’t know what to do."
It seemed that the breakup had indeed dealt Tian Peng a significant blow.
Chen Nuo looked at Tian Peng’s dispirited appearance. Such a big, chubby fellow became so deflated after the breakup, he seemed to have shrunk a size, and even his aura wasn’t as strong as before.
"Then hurry up and get your state back up. Since you’re at work, you should work properly, and stop thinking about other things. If you are in a bad mood, the milk tea you make won’t taste good either."
Chen Nuo wasn’t really worried that Tian Peng’s mood would affect the taste of the milk tea; he just wanted him to perk up.
Tian Peng knew Chen Nuo’s intentions were good, and he nodded, "I understand, Shopkeeper. Give me some time, and I will slowly get my condition back to normal."
"That’s good, then. You guys go ahead and keep busy, I’ll take Xi and thank those fairies who gave me the suggestion before," Chen Nuo said, getting up with He Xi.
Tian Peng knew that among the people Chen Nuo just mentioned was Chang’e. He wanted to take the opportunity to have Chen Nuo check on Chang’e’s condition, but he opened his mouth and then closed it again.
He really didn’t know what to say, and besides, Chang’e must really despise him now. It was better not to ask about her condition.
Chen Nuo could tell what Tian Peng wanted to say just by looking at him. With this sort of unrequited love, it was better to deal with it coldly. He patted Tian Peng’s shoulder and was about to leave with He Xi.
Just at this moment, Yang Jian arrived at the milk tea shop with several people. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Sun Wukong glanced over and greeted with a smile, "Yang Jian, here to buy some milk tea? Bringing so many people, are you treating them?"
Yang Jian did not respond, his face showing distress.
Chen Nuo immediately sensed something was wrong and asked He Xi to sit at the table before inquiring, "What’s the matter? Is there an issue?"
"Shopkeeper Chen, you are here too, my apologies. The Jade Emperor has ordered and now I must take Marshal Tian Peng to report to the Jade Emperor," Yang Jian said after giving Chen Nuo a fist salute.
At this point, the few people in the milk tea shop realized something was amiss.
Chen Nuo looked at the Immortal Officials lined up, flashed them an apologetic smile, "Sorry everyone, as you can see, we’ve got some issues to deal with, so we’re closing for today. Please come back tomorrow."
The divine officials understood and left the milk tea shop in small groups.
"What’s the matter, Chen? Is there an issue?" He Xi looked nervously at the scene unfolding and gently tugged at the corner of Chen Nuo’s clothing.
Chen Nuo turned back and gave He Xi a reassuring look, "Be good, Xi. I’ll take you home now. You go to your room and wait for a bit. Once I’ve dealt with the matter, I’ll come back and explain everything slowly, okay?"
He Xi nodded, knowing she couldn’t be of any help and that staying here would only cause trouble unnecessarily.
Chen Nuo took out a talisman from the Silken Pouch, pinched it between his index finger and thumb, and formed a Formation to send He Xi back.
Then Chen Nuo smiled at Yang Jian, "Yang Jian, it can’t be that urgent with the Jade Emperor, can it? How about we step aside and talk?"
Yang Jian nodded, "Alright."
Yang Jian gave a couple of instructions to the Heavenly Soldiers behind him, then stepped inside the shop.
"It seems the Jade Emperor has learned about the incident at Guanghan Palace. Early this morning, he instructed me to bring Marshal Tian Peng to him. Although he didn’t say anything specific, I suspect it’s related to that incident."
As soon as he entered, Yang Jian shared the situation with Chen Nuo. Even though he was from the Heavenly Court, Chen Nuo had helped him and his sister with many matters.
Moreover, considering that Chen Nuo was the object of his sister’s secret affection, Yang Jian was still able to discern right from wrong in such a situation.
Chen Nuo had already imagined this scenario when Yang Jian arrived, but at the scene, there were not only the Immortal Officials called by Tian Peng but also those summoned later by Sun Wukong.
If it had been any other banquet, perhaps no one would have guessed anything, but with such a spontaneous gathering, all attendees were insiders. It was unlikely that there would have been a leak.
"The Jade Emperor didn’t point out who disclosed the information."
As soon as Chen Nuo looked up, Yang Jian immediately replied.
Although Chang’e was the victim, since she had already said she would not report the incident, she definitely wouldn’t have revealed it.
Chen Nuo still trusted Chang’e’s character quite a bit. Since it wasn’t Chang’e, it could only have been another Immortal Official.
Suddenly, Chen Nuo remembered that a few of Chang’e’s friends had come in from outside then, and it was after their arrival that they learned about the incident in the backyard. Could it be that one of Chang’e’s friends was the one who had leaked the news?
Such matters were uncertain and could only be dealt with one step at a time.
