Journey to the West: Signing in for 500 Years-Chapter 628 - 622: Resolving the Battle [Seeking Subscriptions and Monthly Tickets]_1
The nine divine seals descending from the sky left everyone with a single thought: escape for their lives.
Even Zhao Gongming and Bo Jian could only think of escaping, let alone the others.
Zhao Gongming and the others cared only to escape with their closest followers, indifferent to the fate of anyone else.
As for whether they could survive, they could only pray for good fortune.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM.
The seals fell, instantly enveloping all the gods and Buddhas in the sky. In a flash, radiance filled the heavens, dust covered the earth, and blood soared towards the sky.
Some Xiaojingling gods and Buddhists headed towards the Bull Demon King's side. Although mixing with the Demon World put them at risk of being torn to pieces, it offered a slim chance of escaping to safety.
If they fled in the opposite direction, they couldn't get out of the range of the seals and were likely to be crushed to dust.
These Xiaojingling spirits who fled towards the demon's lair indeed escaped with their lives, while the seals obliterated the other gods and Buddhas in the sky.
Only a handful of Quasi-Saints managed to break free. Even the Daluo Golden Immortals, if not led away by a Quasi-Saint, met their demise.
However, in such a hasty situation, the Quasi-Saints couldn't take many with them.
They could only take their closest and most elite followers; those of lesser importance, strangers, or minor characters had but a one-way ticket to death.
Zhao Gongming and the others drained all their strength, used secret techniques, and sacrificed their vital essence just to escape from beneath those seals.
But they paid a great price, spewing blood as they fled without daring to look back, scattering in an instant.
They ran desperately, fleeing everywhere, trying every means to scatter and escape.
During this escape, countless divine lights emerged from the spatial cracks, pursuing the fleeing Quasi-Saints and the ones who slipped through the net.
SWISH, SWISH, SWISH.
Zhao Gongming and the others could avoid one divine light but not the second. Perhaps they could even dodge dozens, or hundreds, but not thousands, or tens of thousands.
Soon, each of them bore injuries, battered and bloodied.
Zhao Gongming was seriously wounded, and all his followers perished; the gods of The Mysterious Altar Department were all slain by that divine light.
Li Changgeng also suffered grave injuries, and the Sky Kings fell one after another. The twenty-eight constellations and one hundred and eight fighting gods likewise met with death or injury; few managed to escape.
Only those under the protection of the Fuzheng God, Bo Jian, had a slim chance of survival. This was because he had retained most of his power and was at his peak.
After all, he was a Peak Quasi-Saint. Though the gap between him and Sha Chen was vast, Friar Sand had yet to appear at that moment. Additionally, with some distance between them, Sha Chen found it somewhat difficult to kill him and those he protected.
Still, Sha Chen managed to hunt down some of those under Bo Jian's protection, but a few still slipped through the net, allowing Bo Jian to lead a small number of them away.
But Buddhism wasn't so lucky; they didn't have such powerful Quasi-Saints, and it seemed Sha Chen especially targeted them in his pursuit and suppression.
The fierce divine seals and dreadful divine lights rained down relentlessly.
Buddhism's hundreds of masters, all virtuous elites, perished without a single survivor.
Only a handful of gods and Buddhas risked everything to dash towards the demon's lair and survived, but they were soon captured by Red Boy and others.
Red Boy and his ilk were all for killing, but Bull Demon King stopped their reckless behavior, choosing instead to detain this group of deities.
Unsatisfied, Red Boy said, "Father, these dog deities have killed so many of our minions, how can we let them off? We should pull them out immediately and flay them alive."
Bull Demon King, however, said, "They are, after all, Celestial Gods of the Heavenly Court, and some of them possess a degree of Xiaojingling and hold status. They're more useful alive than dead."
Red Boy was still unwilling, insisting on executing them.
Marshal Tianpeng and Black Bear Spirit were more rational. They stepped up to support the Bull Demon King's decision, stopping Red Boy's desire to kill the innocents.
Red Boy, feeling indignant, ascended into the air, wishing to find Sha Chen in the rift to back his decision and to slay those Celestial Gods.
But before he could speak, Sha Chen's voice emerged from the space rift, "Red Boy, the decision made by your father is the right one. If you dare to defy it, don't blame me for being impolite."
Red Boy was someone who feared neither heaven nor earth; not even his own father, the Bull Demon King, could control him.
But he feared Sha Chen alone.
So when Sha Chen spoke, he immediately became obedient.
He wanted to retort, but upon sensing Sha Chen's aura and mood, he instantly dared not make another sound.
As the matter was resolved, the space rift began to slowly close.
Red Boy, Marshal Tianpeng, and others immediately dove into the rift, following it to find Sha Chen.
There were other figures floating about, also wishing to enter, but in the end, they resisted.
Within the space rift, Red Boy, Marshal Tianpeng, Golden Winged Dapeng, Black Bear Spirit, Spider Demon, and White Bone Demon all flew towards the end of the rift.
Red Boy shouted, "Stepfather, we are back!"
Marshal Tianpeng also called out, "Old Sha, help us out! Pull us from this space rift!"
In the end, everyone jumped onto the back of Golden Winged Dapeng, which greatly displeased him. He tried to shake them off.
Still, Marshal Tianpeng patted his head, "Dapeng, don't struggle. You're the fastest among us; the space rift is about to close, and the light at the end is fading. Hurry and get us across, otherwise, if we get lost, we will die in this void."
Although Golden Winged Dapeng was unhappy, he still accelerated and carried them all across.
In an instant, they flew out of the end of the rift. Indeed, its exit was right in front of the Flowing Sand River Cave.
Golden Winged Dapeng and the others were moving so rapidly that they crashed right into the cave. They were immediately left battered and bloodied, their injuries worsened.
"You wretched, feathered beast, what's with the breakneck speed? Rushing home for a funeral? It'll be the death of your pig grandfather!"
"OUCH, that hurts!"
Everyone screamed miserably and lambasted Golden Winged Dapeng.
Golden Winged Dapeng was so angry that he bared his teeth, ready to fight them. But how could he be a match for Marshal Tianpeng, Red Boy, and the others? He was swiftly beaten to the ground.
"Stop!"
From inside the Flowing Sand River Cave, Sha Chen, thoroughly exasperated, shouted loudly.
He originally hadn't wanted to bother with these fools. After all, they hadn't brought anything back for many years and had instead only caused trouble for him outside.
Now they were right at his doorstep, still causing a commotion with their fighting and noise.
He had wanted to give them the cold shoulder, but as their fighting grew more intense, leaving them battered and bloodied, he had no choice but to call them to a halt. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Everyone obediently stopped fighting, yet they remained dissatisfied and sought Sha Chen's judgment.
Marshal Tianpeng said, "Old Sha, you judge for us! This feathered beast was so fast that we crashed right in front of your cave entrance, nearly killing us, and he still had the nerve to strike us!"
Dapeng protested angrily, "It was clearly you who asked me to burst out at top speed, and now you're blaming me!?"
Red Boy, ever ungrateful, said, "We asked you to exit the rift at top speed, but we didn't ask you to crash into the wall!"
Just as they were about to start quarreling again, Sha Chen stretched out a hand from within the cave, instantly pressing all of them to the ground, rendering them immobile.
