I've Become the King of Villains in the Game-Chapter 467 - 328: Circus Official Debut - Part 1
Chapter 467: Chapter 328: Circus Official Debut – Part 1
Chen Lun had not expected that after Mona was transferred from Amber City to the Imperial Royal City, she would still give him a push and recommend him to the Imperial Judgement Group…
The Imperial Judgement Group was considered the highest-level Transcendent law enforcement organization in the Shelter, filled with elites. The minimum requirements for selection included being a squad leader of the Executioner teams, a top Combat Power from various branches, or a direct Transcendent officer from the Empire.
Its leaders were the Nine Great Judges, each an Upper Rank individual.
However, Chen Lun had never heard of any precedent where members were openly recruited. It was a military organization belonging solely to the Sun Royal Family, thus, it was extremely strict about the backgrounds of its members.
He secretly speculated that the reason he could be included on the list of candidates was not only because he had saved Mona’s life, but also because he had thwarted the Red Apple Church’s conspiracies several times, earning her gratitude and admiration. It was also because currently was the time of the most intense struggle between the “conservative” and “radical” factions within the officials.
Perhaps, the conservative faction urgently needed the intervention of an “outsider” to break new ground, thereby proving that their ideology was correct, that is, “recruitment and incorporation” was more beneficial to the stability of the Empire.
‘So, I suppose I’ve come across a critical opportunity…’
Chen Lun made such a guess and evaluation.
Perhaps, in the eyes of conservatives like Mona and Amos, having Chen Lun join the Imperial Judgement Group was a mutually beneficial win-win situation, but he did not have a strong desire for it.
Because such a high-caliber Transcendent organization came with many restrictions and had to act on the orders of the Sun Royal Family and the Nine Great Judges. Compared to that, Chen Lun preferred to elevate the Murder Club and turn it into the new Righteous God Church.
He himself could then effortlessly become a mid- to high-level figure in the Righteous God Church, enjoying more freedom.
Moreover, his potential inclusion in the Imperial Judgement Group was not yet certain, as Chen Lun was just one of the candidates on the recommendation list, so he did not hold much hope.
“I’m very grateful for Miss Mona’s appreciation and for the value Mr. Amos and you place on me… I can only say I will do my best. It just so happens that I am preparing to lead my team to participate in the suppression of the Red Apple Church activities,” Chen Lun said, leaning on his Silver Staff with a very humble tone.
Upon hearing this, Amos immediately showed a smile, clearly pleased with his attitude.
“If that’s the case, then it couldn’t be better. The Empire is currently facing the trouble of the Red Calamity. If Mr. Jack could eradicate as much of the Red Apple Church’s power as possible, I believe the higher-ups will have an even better impression of you, and the chances of joining the Imperial Judgement Group will be much greater,” he said.
He extended his hand again and said,
“Thank you for your response. I believe it won’t be long before the Imperial Judgement Group gains a capable new member, Mr. Jack.”
“It’s nothing. As a citizen of the Empire, I also wish to contribute to its stability,” Chen Lun replied and shook his hand with polite restraint.
“Then I won’t bother you any further, Mr. Jack. If you need anything, come to the Shelter’s location at 2 Special Minglai Street in the city center. That’s where the Peacock City Shelter is based,”
“Understood, Mr. Amos.”
The two bid farewell, and after putting on his hat, Amos turned and left.
Watching his retreating figure, Chen Lun thought to himself what the Shelter’s reaction would be if they knew he was actually “S-rank fugitive Qiaoke.”
He chuckled and shook his head.
‘Even if they find out, it doesn’t matter. The main reason Qiaoke is wanted is for bringing down an incarnation of Terence from the Sun Church. Other than that, there are no stains on his record… The Shelter always had dissatisfaction with the Sun Church, so they are unlikely to view me as an enemy because of that.’
Chen Lun also started walking toward the carriage.
‘Also, since the identity of Qiaoke is a Member of the Golden Cup from the Murder Club and is currently in an important period of the Righteous God Church’s seat battle, the officials are unlikely to take action against me because of it… unless I end up failing, in which case I would be in danger.’

Nighttime.
After returning to the winery with Floey by carriage, Chen Lun immediately called a meeting.
He told everyone his plans and decisions.
“Turns out Mr. Jack is still a Golden Cup Assassin from the Murder Club?!” Noah exclaimed in surprise.
Being the young master of the Silver Dragon Trade Association, he was well-informed about the mysteries of the Mystic Realm and was fully aware of what kind of organization it was, as well as just how high the status of a Golden Cup Assassin was.
In the living room, most of the people’s expressions were one of surprise.
Only Alec looked uninterested, Connie appeared puzzled, and Antonio was humming a melody that only he could understand.
Chen Lun smiled and patted Noah’s head, then said to everyone,
“This is a rare opportunity, and it also marks the real debut of the Circus… You all don’t need to worry about the rest. I will take care of it. You just need to help eradicate the Transcendent Combat Power of the Red Apple Church. If we manage to succeed in the end, then we will all benefit greatly.”
“Don’t worry, Leader, we won’t hold you back!” Golov was the first to express his stance, speaking earnestly.
Barton and Morey beside him conveyed the same sentiment.
Noah and Maggie were somewhat excited, as this might be their first time fighting alongside the Leader since advancing to the Mid Sequence, filled with anticipation.
Floey stood silently with a smile on her face, but her quiet stance behind Chen Lun already showed her unwavering attitude.
“Antonio doesn’t like killing…” The cow stopped singing and suddenly turned to look at everyone.
He shook his head, then continued,
“But Antonio loathes the Red Apple Church and is also willing to contribute for Mr. Jack.”
“Thank you, Antonio,” Chen Lun said.
Chen Lun smiled at it and called out its nickname.
The cow was very happy, repeatedly insisting there was no need for thanks and echoing the nickname.
“Anton, Anton… it sounds so nice,” it said.

Two days later.
A huge carriage was slowly moving through a city within a Red Calamity Area in Rock State.
On the exterior of the carriage, there was a large black “J” surrounded by four different playing cards, a team emblem personally drawn by Noah.
Clatter, clatter…
The wheels bound with heavy ropes crunched over the icy road, producing a rhythmic sound.
Due to the rampage of the Red Apple Church, the streets were in ruins, with garbage and filth piled up and frozen solid by the harsh cold. Many streetlights had been broken and toppled over, looking like no one had cleaned them for a long time.
The windows of the apartment buildings were nearly all boarded up, with only a few broken ones allowing the whistling cold wind to blow inside, signaling that the residents were either dead or had fled.
The giant carriage came to a stop in front of a makeshift barrier of stones and wooden stakes, and soon a squad of guards gathered around it, eyeing the carriage warily.
The team leader of the guards was about to question them but was stopped by several tall men behind him.
“Lord Audimang.”
Seeing the newcomer, the team leader immediately greeted him with great respect.
Audimang was the leader of the Shelter in this Red Calamity City. When the Red Apple Church revolted, he led investigators to battle, organized manpower to maintain order, and was greatly respected and supported by the people.
“May I know who you are? This area is sealed off and temporarily closed to access,” Audimang said, with the same kind of beard as Golov, but looking much rougher.
He seemed to recognize the emblem on the carriage but wasn’t completely sure, so he asked with a deep voice.
A few seconds later, those gathered saw the door of the carriage open, and a blind woman in a black dress slowly stepped down.
She was barefoot on the icy ground, her pale golden hair lifted by the cold wind, fluttering in mid-air like the fluff of elves, exuding an elegant and mysterious beauty. Almost all the guards were captivated by her appearance, surprised that she was wearing such light clothing in such cold weather.
The woman in the black dress approached Audimang and presented a certificate of a Transcendent power.
After a careful inspection, Audimang’s pupils shrank, and he internally exclaimed, “Indeed.”
“So it’s Mr. Jack Spett’s team.”
He gestured with his hand, and the guards around him immediately lowered their weapons and returned to their posts.
Audimang then asked, “What important matter brings you here? The Red Calamity is spreading; the quarantine zone is filled with Fallen Believers and even Transcendent monks of the Red Apple Church are killing at will… Please do not enter unless absolutely necessary.”
“Mr. Jack’s purpose is very simple, it’s…”
The woman in the black dress began to speak slowly.
“The Hunting Church.”
Her ethereal and emotionless voice spread out, causing Audimang and the other Shelter members, as well as the surrounding guards, to be startled.
The Hunting Church? Which church was that?
Could it be the one inside, the Red Apple Church?! They actually came for the dreadful Red Calamity that everyone else tried to avoid?!
The woman in the black dress continued, “This is the first stop for the Jack Circus; then we will travel through all ten cities of the Red Calamity Area in Rock State and eliminate the Red Apple Church one by one… Please open the passage, sir.”
Audimang looked at her intently and, without much hesitation, directly ordered his men to remove the barriers.
Not until the giant carriage slowly moved into the quarantine zone, disappearing from everyone’s sight, did a high-ranking Investigator finally speak up, asking, “Leader, is it really okay to just let them in like that?”
Audimang let out a relieved chuckle and slapped his subordinate on the shoulder with such force that it elicited a cry of pain.
“What do you know, kid!”
He took a deep breath, recalling the information that had come from the upper echelons recently, about Jack Spett… A new round of selection for the Imperial Judiciary was imminent, and this Transcendent had attracted much attention.
Naturally, Audimang was well aware of this man’s past deeds and from it, harbored a glimmer of hope.
Owing to the chaos enveloping the once prosperous city over the past two months, countless citizens had died. The other two Churches of the Righteous God barely lifted a finger, remaining as mere spectators, leaving only him to lead the Shelter in a battle of wits and bravery against the Red Apple Church, wearied in both mind and body.
“Perhaps his arrival will be a redemption,” Audimang murmured to himself, filled with anticipation.

The Red Apple Church was too powerful, even the Shelter’s leader felt overwhelmed.
The subordinates around Audimang, having heard their leader’s murmur, felt a bizarre emotion stir within them. How could the people in that carriage possibly deal with the Red Apple Church, an adversary even the Shelter could not contend with?!
Who exactly were they?!
