Ethan felt his heartache for her and his blood boil for not finding out who did this to her.

Lifting his hand, He touched the side of her face with the back of his hands. She was weak and defenseless, it will take her a long time to recover considering that she was born with a weak body.

Ethan felt that uncomfortable feeling in his heart again seeing her laying on the bed like this. He wanted to protect her and keep her safe but he has no right to do that. He has no right to think like this.

Ethan caressed her face for the last time before he left the room, After Ethan left, Lana, Alice and Sick entered the room, After about an hour later, She finally woke up.

When she woke up, Petal felt a strong weakness in her body muscles. She could barely move her body, not to mention the headache that she woke up with.

"I’m glad that you are alright." Lana said, holding her hand.

Lily smiled weakly at her and nodded her head.

"Thank you." She signed.

Petal was still shocked by what happened to her, she didn’t know how to do something like this to her. She was sure that it wasn’t that evil man because he was the one who saved her.

Alice and Issac went back to the mansion and Lana stayed back with her. Petal was still sick and she needed someone to take care of her.

Because of the strong medications, Petal fell asleep again.

Lana sat on the chair watching over her as her mind thought about who did that to Her, Until now they couldn’t find any clue about who did that, But they will and whoever did that will be punished.

Lana stood up to check on Ethan who was sitting outside in the waiting section. He refused to go back to the mansion and leave his mother here alone when many bodyguards can protect her.

"Here, I brought you a coffee to warm your body. Tonight is a cold night." Lana said as she sat beside her son.

"Right on time." Ethan said as he took a sip of the coffee.

"You should go back, I will be here all night." Ethan said as he looked at the passing people in the hospital.

"Petal will try to kill you if she sees you inside the room." Lana said laughing.

Ethan didn’t comment on his mother’s words and sipped silently on his coffee.

"Alright, I will leave, check her from time to time, She won’t wake up until tomorrow." Lana said as she stood up walking towards the door of the hospital.

When Lana left, Ethan stayed in his place and didn’t move. He had put a bodyguard at the hospital entrance and Petal room. He had a feeling that whoever did that he would come to make sure if his work was done or not.

The kind of poisoning that she was exposed to was a very dangerous one. It is a miracle that she is still alive. The person who did that must be one of her father’s enemies.

"Sir, Here are the sealing reports, The attorney had just brought them." One of the bodyguards said as he handed him the files.

"You can go now." Ethan said as he started to look into the files.

Since Ethan took after his father position, He was always busy with work, His family owns the company, Hospitals, Hotels, and many other properties that need to be looked after, But it is never easy, It takes most of his time to be able to check on everything, every day, He needs to look at hundreds of files that needs to his signature.

Two hours later, He finished reviewing and signed the files.

Looking at the time it was three in the morning, Staring at the door room, He wondered if she was doing alright, Ethan stood up and walked towards the door.

Opening the door slowly, He entered the room and found Patel sitting on the bed. She looked as if she was trying to stand up but she couldn’t. Muscle weakness is a normal side effect of this kind of poisoning.

"Need help?" He asked when she lifted her head and looked at him.

Petal glared at him and turned to look at the other side ignoring him while she tried to stand up but she couldn’t.

A small smile appeared on Ethan’s lips that she didn’t notice before he walked towards her.

"Let me help you." Ethan said as he lifted her arm placing it around his neck and used his other arm to wrap it around her body.

Petal was shocked by the fact that he was touching but she didn’t try to push him. She lacked the energy and she needed his help.

"Walk slowly." He instructed us they walked towards the bathroom.

His low pitched voice fell on her ear and she tried to act normal, But it was hard with the fact that his hand was around her waist, Her whole weight was on his body.

Was he that strong? Petal wondered.

Once she was inside the bathroom, Petal closed the bathroom door behind her.

Ethan leaned against the whole outside waiting for her.

Ethan looked at his hand that was on her waist and felt as if it was burning, Despite how small she appears, But her small waist was curved. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Ethan chuckled at Himself, What was he thinking about, But he can’t deny that she is beautiful and innocent, Her innocence is tempting.

Hearing the door being opened, Ethan turned to look at the door. He was about to help her but she stopped him by raising her hand telling him that can do It.

Petal walked towards the bed and slowly she climbed back on it. When she lifted her leg, The hospital gown rolled up and exposed a good amount of her thighs, But she quickly covered it and covered her body with the sheets.

Ethan, who was pretending to look at the other side, Had a good look at her thighs, But he looked away not wanting to embarrass her.

"If you don’t mind, I would like to ask you some questions about what happened today." Ethan said as he walked towards her bed and sat on the chair near it.

Petal stared at him for a moment, Before she nodded her head.

"Very well." Ethan said as he picked up the notebook and the pen handing them to her.

"Yesterday, When you were at school did you notice anything unusual? Like someone watching you?" Ethan asked and watched as she started to think before she nodded her head no.

"The poison that you have exposed to is most effective when it’s in the air. Did you happen to smell anything unusual yesterday?" Ethan asked her.

Petal frowned hearing this, Picking up the pen, She started right something.

"When I left the school yesterday, I met a compound perfume salesman, He gave me a free sample of the perfume. It was in my bag." She wrote and showed it to him.

Ethan read what she wrote and he immediately took out his phone and called the mansion and ordered them to search for the perfume bottle that Petal told him about.

"If I’m correct, The perfume bottle didn’t contain a perfume but the poison." Ethan told Petal and watched the worried look that appeared on her face.

"Don’t worry, Nothing will happen to you." Ethan said, placing his hand on hers.

Petal pulled her hand away and looked at him coldly before she wrote something and showed it to him.

"Please leave, I want to sleep."

Ethan read what she wrote and glanced at her before she left.

Laying down on the bed, Petal started to think about what Ethan just told her.

Someone tried to poison her?.

Who and Why would they do that?.

Just one she thought that everything was starting to move smoothly in her life, something happened. She wondered if she was born with bad luck.

Outside the room, Ethan had a gloomy expression on his face. Even the bodyguard became scared. They didn’t know what happened. Just a while ago their boss was in a good mood and everything changed when he came out of the room.

So what exactly happened.

Ethan, who had a deadly look on his face, Remembered the look that she looked at him with. He felt like he was going to explode.

"What is happening to me?" Ethan muttered under his breath as he ran his hands through his black hair, Frustrated.

Why did her look at him bother him that much?
