He could tell that she was crying by the movement of her shoulders.

Tightening his grip on the Steering wheel he turned the car on and left.

Petal, who hadn’t found anything, stopped looking and just stayed there staring at the emptiness of the place.

She stood up and left the place with Alice going back to the mansion. The whole way back, Petal was thinking about a way to find Jacob and her mother. Something is happening and she needs to understand it.

When they came back, Petal went upstairs and locked herself in her room.

"I’m worried about her." Alice said to her mother.

"She didn’t react as expected. She is alone now with no family." She added.

Lana listened to what her daughter said and she too was worried.

"Give her time, As for us, We can only comfort her and also prepare ourselves for that moment when it comes." Lana replied as she patted her daughter’s head.

Alice nodded her head and hugged her mother.

"I don’t want to lose her." She said, burying Her face in her mouth.

"I know, Honey, But there is nothing we can do." Her mother said, kissing her head.

Three days later.

Petal had decided to busy herself with school. She leaves in the morning only to come back during dinner time, But she doesn’t eat with them. Most of the day she spends it in rehearsal at the school.

Petal had even signed up in driving school to learn how to drive. She was trying to do anything to keep her mind busy.

At the guest’s house, Ethan has a study room.

Lana sat in front of the laptop watching what her son called her and told her that she needs to see.

After his mother asked him to search for Jacob, Petal’s bodyguard, He had found something interesting and he decided to show it to her.

Lana massaged her forehead as she picked up the photos that Ethan man gathered.

"Does this mean... ?" Lana felt at loss seeing all of this.

Folding his arms, Ethan leaned against the window looking outside.

"I don’t know for sure, I need to gather more information. If this has been confirmed then she is in danger, Even here." He replied.

"We need to confirm this information first Before we can make our decision." Lana said not wanting to rush things.

Back to Petal’s room.

Petal had finished her evening bath and got dressed ready to go to bed when the door to her room was knocked.

Walking towards the door, She opened it to find Noah standing outside.

"Good evening, I hope I didn’t disturb you." Noah said with a warm smile on his lips.

Shaking her head no, Petal stepped away from the door and asked him to enter.

"I thought of coming to see now before I leave." Noah said and watched as she frowned.

Somehow it made him feel good that she reacted this way.

"I have a business trip, I will be away for ten days." He explained taking two steps towards her, closing the distance between them.

"I hope you have a safe trip." She said, signaling, smiling at him.

Noah’s heart skipped a beat when he saw her smile like this. He wanted nothing but to pull her in his arms and feel her warmth against his body but he knew that they are not yet at this point. She needs more time and he needs to be patient.

"Thank you." He said, kissing her forehead.

Noah took a deep breath as he stared at her for a few seconds As if he was memorizing every detail of her face.

"I should go now, Have a good night." Nosh said, pulling away.

Petal felt guilty for not trying to make this work and make him the only person who is trying in this relationship, So she said.

"I will walk you out." She said signaling.

Noah nodded his head, Happy that she offered that.

Closing her room behind her, Petal walked Noah outside until they reached the gate.

"When I come back, I want to take you to meet my mother, Is that okay with you?" Noah asked, hoping that she would agree.

Petal was surprised for a moment. She wasn’t ready for that, But she thought that there was no harm in meeting his mother. She had heard that she is Lana’s sister and she wondered if the two of them are the same.

"Okay." Petal replied and saw how excited Noah seemed.

"Alright, I will see when I come back and talk about this." He said before he left.

Petal waited until Noah left before she turned around and was about to go back to her room when she saw Ethan standing there.

He had an amusement look in his eyes as he stared at her. Petal didn’t know why that look made her nervous and she felt something. Something weird she never felt before and she couldn’t describe.

She looked at him for a moment before she started to make her way back towards the mansion but she stopped in her tracks when she heard him say.

"Things are getting serious, But I would like to warn you from Sofia, Noah’s mother, She is an evil woman." Ethan said as he walked towards her, he was standing right behind her.

Petal gulped nervously, The nervousness inside of her was growing more, feeling him standing behind her.

Petal turned around and she wasn’t aware that this was the biggest mistake in her life. Her eyes met his gray cold eyes and for the first time in her life, she felt her heart skip a beat.

The deep V-cut black shirt that he was wearing made him different from the usual suits that he wears and the way his hair was slightly disheveled made him look less intimidating, He looked more like a human.

But why is she suddenly thinking about that?.

"You should go back inside, It’s cold." Ethan spoke, noticing how her body was shivering from the cold. He also noticed how she was looking at him.

Petal turned around and left, Unaware that what she started to feel tonight was only the beginning of a life-changing turn of events that she wasn’t expecting.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed as he thought about something, If the information he received was confirmed then he needs to make the proper arrangements.

On his way back, He recalled the look on her face, She was staring at him as if she saw him for the first time, Ethan noticed that she had a beautiful eyes color, He never saw such amazing hazel eyes, But those beautiful eyes had a deep sadness in them and he was aware that he was the cause of this sadness.

The blood of her family was on his hands, He made her lonely with no one to count on, For the first time, Ethan regretted a decision he made.

At the club.

Alice was enjoying her time with her hosts when one of them asked her.

"Alice, Baby, Where is that girl that you brought the last?" One of them asked.

"Yeah, She was hot in an innocent way, The whole male’s hosts didn’t stop speaking about her." Another host joined in.

Alice laughed wishing that Petal was here to hear what these men were saying about her.

"Well, I don’t think she will come back here again, The atmosphere here isn’t her type, Petal is a very shy person." Alice replied to their questions.

"Her name is Petal. What a beautiful name. Now I want to see her again so badly." The host said.

"Hmm, I don’t think I can tell her, Considering that some jerks from my birthday party tried to force themselves on her." Alice replied, enjoying the massage that was given to her by them.

"What? Who can force themselves on such a shy soul like her, Ah... I still remember how her face turned red like tomatoes when she watched the striping show." Mason said.

Alice laughed hearing this.

"Okay, I will invite all of you to my graduation party, Petal will be there, But I’m warning you, Do not do anything stupid to her." Alice warned them.

"We promise." The hostess spoke in unison, making Alice laugh out loud.

If the only Petal were here, She thought.
