It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 67: A kiss without feelings

Tonight she learned a new lesson in life, People like her can’t survive in this world without taking extra care of themselves, If she hadn’t done the surgery, She wouldn’t be able to hear what they said and she might have drink that cup of joe and only God knows what could have happened to her.

She came to realize that she doesn’t know anything about this world and she still has a long way to learn. It is scary but this is the real-life that she was newly experiencing.

Inside the mansion, Issac was about to get another drink for him and Ethan when he saw Petal standing outside alone.

"You can go." He heard Ethan say.

Issac turned to look at his brother before he walked towards her.

Patel sipped on her house enjoying the cold night and the quietness of the place. At least here there was no one to bother her talking about how to take advantage of her.

"A pretty girl like you shouldn’t be left alone." Petal heard Issac’s voice, She turned around to look at him.

Issac was one of the few people that she trusts. Despite his shameless nature it’s safer to be around him than these jerks that she is with right now.

Petal offered Issac a weak smile before she looked ahead of her.

"I started to learn the ASL language just for you." He said Though it seemed like he was fluttering with her but it was the exact opposite and she was aware of that.

Hearing this Petal turned to look at him again.

"That’s good." She replied signaling

Petal saw Jackson and Benjamin walking out of the mansion looking around them. It seemed that they were searching for her. She didn’t know why but she felt scared. She thought that these two will give up once she leaves them.

"I didn’t see Noah, Is he not coming?" Issac asked, noticing how her face expressed suddenly when she looked at the mansion entrance.

Petal shrugged her shoulders saying that she didn’t know. He hadn’t called her since yesterday, Which was strange, Petal thought.

"Maybe he will come late." Issac said following her line of gaze.

Seeing two boys walking towards them, Issac frowned.

"Did these two do something too?" Issac asked, turning his head to look at her.

Petal panicked when she saw them getting closer, She moved closer to Issac and he immediately understood the situation.

"It seems like it’s going to be a fun night." Issac mumbled under his breath.

"Hey, Where did you go? The fun was just getting started." Jackson said to Petal as he tried to get close to her but Issac stopped them.

"I think she doesn’t want to spend time with you two, So why don’t you two turn around and go back to the party." Issac spoke and watched the two boys glare at him.

Petal on the other hand felt that Issac was planning something, She only hoped that he doesn’t ruin Alice’s birthday party.

"Did she say that herself?" It was Benjamin who spoke this time.

Issac smirked and shook his head hopelessly as if he was disappointed by their answers.

"Don’t say that I didn’t warn you." Issac said as he signaled to the guards.

Seeing the guards walking towards them, Petal knew that this night was going to be a long night for the both of them.

"Do you think that we are scared of you? If you can see there are two of us and one of you." Benjamin said as he signaled for Jackson to take Petal.

"Come beauty, We don’t have all night."Jackson said as he was a step closer to Petal but before he did that Issac grabbed his hand and twisted it making him scream in pain.

" You son of a b****... Ah." Jackson screamed in pain again when Issac kicked on his stomach.

"Now your punishment will be more painful for speaking about my mother." Issac said as the guards arrived.

"Take them." Issac said and the two of them were dragged forcefully away screaming and threatening but it all went unheard by the guest’s thanks to the loud music.

Petal stared at the two boys that were being dragged by the guards and it felt strangely good for some reason.

"Thank you." Petal said signaling to Issac.

Issac patted her head gently and said.

"No need to thank me, You’re like my second little sister so it’s my duty to protect you."

Petal smiled and nodded her head. She suddenly felt tired and wanted to go to her room.

"Go and rest, I will tell Alice what happened." Issac said to her and she nodded her head and left.

Once she reached the second floor, She noticed that Ethan’s room was open. Staring at the open door, She felt curious to see what his room looked like, But then her curiosity died down once she remembered his gloomy face.

She decided to take a walk along the long corridor. She has been here for over six months and she always noticed that this floor is different from the others. The mansion has five floors and she only saw three of them.

Petal decided to go and take a look at the two upper floors. It seemed that no one was using them but she saw the maids go there every day and clean them.

Once she reached the fourth floor, Petal noticed that it was darker and less lively compared to the rest of the mansion.

Walking along the corridors, She looked around her, She wondered why this place is not being used but then again, It wasn’t her place to ask.

Petal stopped In front of the huge window that had no curtain on it. The moon looked full tonight casting its beautiful light through the window creating a breathtaking sight and she stood there watching.

Petal noticed she had spent a long time here than she had planned to and she decided to go back to her room.

When she was going back to her room, Petal saw Noah coming upstairs, She stopped by the door waiting for him.

"I apologize for not coming early, Issac told me about what happened, Are you alright?" He asked her in a worried tone.

"I’m fine, Don’t worry." Petal replied signaling.

Noah had an angry expression as he stared at her. It should have been him who was with her protecting her rather than being away.

"I should have been with you." Noah said his tone was softer this time and his face had a gentle expression now."Let’s go inside." He added opening the door and both of them entered.

Turning on the lights, Petal walked towards the balcony and opened it letting some fresh air enter.

Noah watched as she stood there looking outside, He couldn’t help but admire her beauty, The burgundy color of the dress she was wearing looked good on her, The color matched her pale skin perfectly.

Walking towards her, Noah took both her hands in his.

"This dress is good on you, I feel jealous that I wasn’t the first one to see you in it." He said letting go of one of her hands to remove the hair that was covering her face to get a better look at her.

Petal felt uncomfortable by the way he was talking, But she tried to not show it.

"Thank you." Petal said, signaling offering him a polite smile.

Pulling her inside the balcony, Noah stared at the sky and spoke.

"In the past day, I thought about you and me, I asked myself if I’m Forcing myself at you and I tried to stay away, Trying to see if I can live before I met you and it was hard, You had that effect on me, But I promise you that I will not force myself on you if you ask me to."

Petal looked at him surprised by his sudden words and she wondered if he had felt that she didn’t have feelings for him.

Nosh turned to look at her and smiled.

"But if I can ask you if you can give me time, a chance, Maybe this could work and maybe not, But we won’t know until we try." He added cupping her face.

Petal stayed silent before she nodded her head. It’s not like she will lose anything, Even if they didn’t end up together.

Noah smiled, Happy with her answer, She is going to give him a chance and he will make sure to not waste it.

Inching closer to her, He cupped her face and kissed her forehead before being pulled away a little keeping his face close to hers.

Petal’s heart started to pound in her chest, This was a step that she still was not ready for, But she thought that it might help her to change her feelings, So she closed her eyes preparing herself and he took it as a sign of approval.

Noah angled his face and gently pressed his lips on hers for a few seconds before he pulled away.
