ISEKAI? More like I See Crap!-Chapter 205: Lazy but Lucky ( )
Chapter 205: Lazy but Lucky ( 205 )
Inside Ridan’s mind...
If it weren’t for those two...
Those damned mysterious figures.
He still remembered their words—echoing deep in his spirit after the seal broke.
"You are forbidden from telling him the truth."
"If you do, your soul will be sealed again. This time—forever."
Ridan grit his foggy teeth.
If not for that warning... I would’ve told Hazuki everything already.
About who he really is.
Why he was brought here.
What his real mission is...
He glanced sideways at the black-haired idiot currently stretching and yawning like he had nothing to worry about.
But I can’t.
I literally can’t.
So the only thing I can do...
Is assist him when he needs it... guide him when I can... and—
A smirk curled across his misty face.
—annoy the living hell out of him whenever possible. Ehehehehe~
"Oi, Ridan."
"Huh?"
Hazuki narrowed his eyes.
"What’s with that grin?"
Ridan floated innocently in slow circles, the corner of his misty body curling into a smug smirk.
"Oh? Nothing~ Ehehe~"
Hazuki stepped back a little.
"Creepy spirit."
"Oi! I am an Ancient Spirit! The great, once-feared, now-released Ridan-sama!! Show some respect!"
"Yeah yeah..." Hazuki waved it off like swatting a fly.
Just then—
A beastkin guild staff cautiously approached from behind one of the caravans, holding a clipboard with slightly trembling hands.
"U-umm... Mister Hazuki?"
Hazuki turned.
"The appraisal is finished. Deputy Guild Master Gikan would like to see you now."
Hazuki’s eyes lit up instantly.
He clenched his fist with excitement.
"Oh! About time—"
His grin stretched ear to ear.
"MY MONEY!!"
"Hey, don’t forget my meat cut, moneybags." Ridan floated smugly above Hazuki’s head.
"Yeah yeah." Hazuki waved him off and stood up, brushing imaginary dust off his pants.
He glanced at the clearing—
The once enormous pile of monster corpses had been cleared out, packed neatly into reinforced caravans and ready for processing.
Hazuki stretched, then casually walked over to Gikan, who was hunched over a clipboard, scribbling the final tallies.
He didn’t even wait for the deputy to look up.
"So... my money."
Hazuki held out his palm like a waiter expecting a tip.
Gikan sighed, glancing up.
"Mr. Hazuki... if you please, we’ll return to the adventurer guild first to process—"
"No way." Hazuki cut him off.
"Money first. How much total?"
Gikan looked at his note.
"Estimated around... 19 gold, 55 silver, and 70 copper."
Hazuki nodded slowly, palm still out.
"How much coin you have on you right now?"
Gikan blinked.
"I... have 5 gold coins in this pouch right now."
Hazuki grinned.
"That’s good. Hand it to me first."
Gikan sighed.
Long and weary.
He reached into his pouch and pulled out five gold coins, dropping them into Hazuki’s waiting hand.
Hazuki’s grin stretched wide as he tucked the coins into pouch and then to his leather bag.
"Hehehehe... food money!! I’m rich!!"
He spun in place, holding the bag to his chest like it was sacred.
Ridan floated behind him, arms crossed (well, spirit-formed approximations), smirking.
"Don’t spend it all on meat and booze, genius."
Gikan cleared his throat.
"Mr. Hazuki... about the remaining gold and the Abyss Drake meat."
Hazuki paused mid-victory dance.
"Oh yeah. Right." He slid his bag over his shoulder.
"Let’s go."
As they made their way back toward the guild, the group passed by the orphanage.
Old Buron, standing near the gate with a mug of water in hand, spotted Hazuki instantly.
He smirked.
"Yo!! Payment!"
He grinned wide, extending his calloused palm like it was a well-practiced spell.
Hazuki blinked.
"Oh, right. Five gold, yeah?"
Old Buron scratched his beard.
"Actually... it only cost four gold and twenty silver. But hey—round numbers make life easier, right?"
Without hesitation, Hazuki reached into his bag, pulled out the five gold coins he’d just received from Gikan, and handed them over.
Old Buron whistled, surprised.
Hazuki glanced at the orphanage.
The fence was new.
Toilets and showers rebuilt.
Even the roof, walls, and windows looked fresh—solid and polished.
The whole building looked like it had been reborn.
"Wow... nice job." Hazuki muttered, casually adjusting his bag.
"Keep the balance."
Old Buron grinned ear to ear.
"Oh!! Thank you, Mister Human!!"
He shouted as Hazuki walked past, and a few of the orphanage kids peeked from the window and waved.
Ridan floated beside him, arms crossed.
"You really just gave up all five like that? Didn’t even ask for change?"
Hazuki shrugged.
"Too lazy. And besides... worth it."
Hazuki stopped just past the front gate.
He turned sharply, eyes locking onto Kisha, who was near the orphanage door sweeping with a straw broom.
"Oi, lady!!"
She blinked.
"Eh?"
"You! Follow me!!"
"Umm..." she hesitated, glancing around. "Is something wrong...?"
Hazuki jabbed a thumb over his shoulder.
"Now!!"
"O-okay!!" she squeaked, quickly setting the broom aside and jogging after him, half-confused, half-worried.
As they walked, Hazuki suddenly glanced sideways.
"Did you bring your ID with you?"
Kisha blinked, still keeping up with his long strides.
"Y-yes... I have it in my pouch."
"Good. You just follow me. We’re going to the adventurer guild."
She stumbled slightly, eyes wide.
"May... may I ask... for what?"
Hazuki stopped in his tracks, turned his head just enough to glare.
"Don’t ask too many questions, lady!"
"Y-yes!" she squeaked again, bowing reflexively.
The moment Hazuki stepped through the adventurer guild doors, the entire atmosphere shifted.
Every adventurer inside turned to look at him—some with awe, some with fear, some with wide-eyed disbelief.
Even the receptionist girls who had chased after him before now rushed forward, scrambling behind the counter.
"Mister Hazuki! This way, please~" one of them said, placing a cold drink on the counter like serving royalty.
Hazuki narrowed his eyes.
"Oi... what’s with this treatment?"
He brushed it off and walked past the drink without a second glance, heading straight for the main reception counter.
Kisha, looking awkward and overwhelmed, followed quietly behind him.
At the back, Deputy Guild Master Gikan was issuing rapid orders to the staff.
"Prepare the funds. We’ll hand him the full balance now—no delays."
Then he walked toward the counter and greeted them with a professional nod.
"Now, Mister Hazuki... your Adventurer Card, please."
Hazuki handed it over lazily.
"Here. Deposit five gold into my account. I want ten silver coins in cash."
He then jerked a thumb over his shoulder toward Kisha.
"And the rest of the funds? Send it to this girl’s account."
"Kisha!! Your ID!!"
"Y-yes!!" Kisha scrambled to pull it from her pouch, still unsure what was happening.
A staff member blinked.
"Are you sure, Mister Hazuki? That’s over 9 Gold."
Hazuki yawned and scratched his neck.
"Huh? Of course."
