Invincible Snake Emperor-Chapter 161 - 159: The So-called Heavenly and Earthly Treasures
The Black Snake was already terrifying enough for the crowd, but before that dreadful presence, it was as meek as a lamb—utterly insignificant.
Their minds went blank. At that moment, everything was terrifying—even the very air they breathed.
Suddenly, their eyes widened, a strange look creeping into their gazes.
For before the terrified Black Snake, a small Gold and Silver Snake had appeared out of nowhere.
The Snake seemed to defy gravity, floating ethereally and eerily before the giant Black Snake. Its Snake Gaze shimmered with a bewitching light as it stared, cold and impassive, at the massive serpent.
A snake that small, the Black Snake could have swallowed it in a single gulp. It wouldn't have even been enough to get caught between its teeth.
But the Black Snake was terrified. It didn't even dare to meet the small snake's gaze. Its massive, fifteen-meter body trembled uncontrollably, a fear that seemed to emanate from the very depths of its soul.
Everyone could viscerally feel the Black Snake's fear. It was the same terror they felt, knowing they could face being devoured at any moment. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
That a mere little snake could frighten the Black Snake was one thing, but what was truly unbelievable was that it was floating in mid-air.
A flying Snake, staring intently at the Black Snake. With every glance, the Black Snake's massive body lowered itself further, prostrating itself against its will.
Suddenly, as if struck by a revelation, a Snake Catcher stared dazedly at the Gold and Silver Snake and mumbled as if in a dream, "It's the Lord Snake King! The Lord Snake King is here!"
The Snake Catchers all knew that a Snake King who had attained the Dao could transform its colossal body into a small, delicate-looking snake, yet remain omnipotent, capable of traversing heaven and earth.
As if waking from a dream, they knelt down, trembling with reverent excitement. "We pay our respects to the Lord Snake King!"
Every single Snake Catcher knelt in excitement. Only those in police uniforms remained standing, completely dumbfounded. As atheists, the scenes unfolding before them were shattering their entire worldview.
Tu Xiao'an activated his dominance ability, unleashing the aura of a king. It terrified the Black Snake, extinguishing any thought of resistance.
This python was massive, but its Level was too low. The moment Tu Xiao'an activated his dominance ability, he assumed the posture of a Snake King, forcing all lower-Level members of the Snake Race into unconditional submission.
"Where is the Vampire Snake?"
Tu Xiao'an's question, tinged with a king's authority, was transmitted directly into the Black Snake's mind via his Consciousness Power.
"Master has gone into the depths of Snake Gully."
The Black Snake let out a submissive hiss, its reply trembling with fear and reverence.
'The depths of Snake Gully?'
A thoughtful look appeared in Tu Xiao'an's eyes. 'What is the Vampire Snake doing in the depths of Snake Gully? Is it looking for venomous snakes with superior bloodlines to eat?'
'But with so many humans here in this cave, there's no need for that.'
'Humans, after all, are the most spiritual of all creatures. Devouring one would grant a significant boost. If I hadn't been a reincarnated human, I might have been tempted to try devouring one myself.'
'My Level would probably skyrocket.'
'The Vampire Snake has already become a peerless Snake Species; its power and intelligence are on a completely different level now. It wouldn't do something without a good reason. It looks like I'll have to go to Snake Gully and see for myself.'
"Tell me, how did you grow so large?"
Tu Xiao'an voiced his doubt. Normally, it would be extraordinary for this type of Black Snake to even reach ten meters long. But this one was a giant among dwarves, having grown to a full fifteen meters.
Bloodline and genes determined everything. Take an adult male from Yazhou, for example. The difference between 1.8 and 1.9 meters might seem small, but how many could actually reach a height of 1.9 meters?
Let alone growing to two meters—that was truly one in ten thousand.
The same was true for the Snake Race; the length of each Snake Species was fundamentally limited.
Snakes have their typical lengths, and pythons their typical sizes.
"I only ate a plant from deep within Snake Gully, and I slowly grew this large."
The Black Snake answered, trembling, not daring to conceal a thing.
'A plant?'
Tu Xiao'an's Snake Gaze flashed. 'Could there be Heavenly and Earthly Treasures in the depths of Snake Gully?'
Clearly, this Black Snake had stumbled upon some great opportunity.
'The Vampire Snake ignored these humans and headed deep into Snake Gully... Could it have been looking for this plant?'
The moment he had this thought, Tu Xiao'an involuntarily nodded to himself. The explanation made perfect sense.
'I'd like to see for myself just what kind of plant is so magical.'
Suddenly, Tu Xiao'an's powerful Consciousness Power enveloped the Black Snake. It shuddered, its bucket-thick body quivering in terror.
'Show me your memories.'
The Gold and Silver Snake's gaze narrowed, and its Consciousness Power bored into the Black Snake's mind.
In an instant, a flood of memories that were not his own appeared before Tu Xiao'an.
It was the life of the Black Snake.
A snake's life was exceedingly dull—an endless cycle of slumber and foraging. He ignored all the unimportant memories.
Then, Tu Xiao'an saw a small python, barely three meters long. It seemed to be tracking prey when it arrived at the edge of a swamp shrouded in thick fog.
The swamp was so thick with fog that its true nature was hidden. However, a terrifying aura faintly emanated from within, and the small python did not dare to enter.
It was about to turn back when it suddenly saw a small, bright red fruit that had magically sprouted from a patch of mud. It was even smaller than a cherry tomato.
The small python was famished. Without a second thought, it gobbled up the small, bright red fruit.
After eating it, the small python inexplicably fell into a deep slumber. When it awoke, its body had shot up from three meters to five.
From then on, the small python frequented the swamp, though it only ever foraged on the outskirts. If it was lucky, it might come across another one of the small, bright red fruits sprouting from the mud.
Every time it found one, it would immediately devour it.
And just like that, the small python's body grew continuously, shooting up from three meters to a staggering fifteen.
Withdrawing from the Black Snake's memories, Tu Xiao'an's eyes glinted. 'A treasure! This is a real treasure!'
'Back then, Dr. Snake used the Giant Snake Gene to make me and the Vampire Snake grow enormous. I never thought a simple little fruit could have such a magical effect.'
'And the way it appears is so strange, sprouting from the mud in the blink of an eye. It's simply miraculous.'
'Clearly, this is one of the legendary Heavenly and Earthly Treasures.'
'The young python was blessed by fortune. It seized its opportunity and became this massive, fifteen-meter Giant Snake.'
For hundreds of years, legends in Bai Town claimed that Snake Gully was where a Snake King had once attained the Dao. Whether a true Snake King had ever existed, Tu Xiao'an couldn't say.
But it was obvious there was something strange about that swamp deep in Snake Gully, as if it were hiding some great treasure.
'The Vampire Snake is probably there right now.'
Back in the cave, the crowd could only hold their breath and stare as the Black Snake prostrated itself before the Gold and Silver Snake.
"All of you, leave the mountain. You have been granted a new life."
A majestic, otherworldly voice echoed strangely through the cave. The floating Gold and Silver Snake looked upon the crowd with a cold, impassive gaze.
"Long live the Lord Snake King!"
"Long live the Lord Snake King!"
"Long live the Lord Snake King!"
The thirty or so people were overcome with excitement. After despairing and awaiting certain death, they had finally seen the dawn after a long night.
They stared, transfixed, at the floating, incandescent Gold and Silver Snake, their hearts filled with faith and adoration.
The Snake King had descended to save them. It felt like a scene from a dream, too surreal to be believed.
And yet, it was all real—as real as flesh and blood.
They had survived. They would not become food for the Giant Snake. They were the lucky ones—immeasurably more fortunate than those who had already been devoured by the Vampire Snake.
