Invincibility Begins with Mastery of Fist Techniques-Chapter 194 - 188: Welcome
Yang Sheng was keenly aware that he hadn't broken free from his opponent's hold by his own power. The moment his opponent had unleashed their Heart's Desire Bursting Out, he knew he was in trouble, because he knew he couldn't withstand such a force.
However, at that critical moment, another power had suddenly helped him recover from the mental tremor and granted him extraordinary strength.
In that instant, he felt as if he'd briefly shattered his physical limits, unleashing a power he'd never before possessed. He even felt as if his body was no longer under his own control.
The moment he knocked his opponent down, a sudden intuition struck him. He whipped his head around, his gaze locking onto a specific direction within the combat training hall.
Yet, the sight of the person his intuition guided him toward left him slightly stunned.
It was, astoundingly, the two "rich kids" he had just finished showing around the entire martial arts school.
The man, who had barely spoken a word, glanced up at him, then turned and walked out of the combat training hall.
ROAR!!
At that moment, the Changhe Martial Arts School students in the audience erupted into thunderous cheers at their opponent's fall. Meanwhile, the members of the Celestial Yang Wang Family hidden among the crowd turned pale. Several of them scrambled onto the stage to check on their martial artist.
Achieving the state of Holy and Bright was no simple feat. If the man suffered a grievous, permanent injury, it would be a considerable loss, even for the mighty Wang Family.
On the ring, the Wang Family martial artist's eyes were squeezed shut. The punch to his chest had fractured multiple ribs and knocked him unconscious. Fortunately, his life wasn't in danger, but he would have to lie in bed for at least half a month or more to have a chance of recovering.
The people from the Celestial Yang Wang Family looked at Yang Sheng strangely. They had clearly seen him paralyzed by the Heart's Desire Bursting Out, so how had he suddenly broken free? 'Could it be that this man was hiding his true strength all along?'
"Well done, Coach Yang! You finally gave us some payback!"
"As expected of the old headmaster's personal disciple. Your strength is incredible, Coach Yang."
"That's right! Coach Yang, when you're free, could you give us some pointers in sparring?"
"..."
Yang Sheng paid his opponent no mind and walked straight off the stage. Students swarmed around him, excitedly trying to pull him into a celebration, but he was in no mood for it. He knew this victory had nothing to do with him.
His mind was still replaying the fight.
'That man was at least twenty meters from the ring, with a whole crowd of people in between. And yet, even so, he was able to effortlessly influence my Spirit and body, easily neutralizing my opponent's Holy and Bright attack.'
'I know that in the state of Holy and Bright, the mind and body briefly merge, allowing one's power to radiate outward. But the range is extremely limited. The farther away you are, the weaker the effect becomes, to say nothing of a crowd of people standing in the way.'
'I can't even begin to imagine what level of master could do something like that.'
'Before him, I was like a mere child.'
'There's probably no one in the entire Changhe Martial Arts School who could match him.'
'What frightened me more was the question: why would a figure like that come to Changhe Martial Arts School in disguise? What could he possibly want?'
He pushed his way through the excited crowd and walked out of the combat training hall. He saw that the two of them hadn't gone far. They were standing under a large tree not far from the hall, seeming to be waiting quietly.
Yang Sheng took a deep breath and strode toward them.
"Thank you for your assistance earlier, Senior. May I ask who you are? And what is your purpose in coming to our Changhe Martial Arts School? If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask."
With a cautious expression, Yang Sheng lowered his head, clasped his fists in a salute, and bowed to Zhou Yuanjue, his tone deferential.
But after a long moment, he received no reply.
Somewhat taken aback, he slowly raised his head. He saw the quiet man staring straight ahead, seemingly waiting for something. At his side, the woman stood with her eyes downcast, perfectly still and composed.
He couldn't resist looking where the man was staring and saw it was in the direction of the inner section of the Changhe Martial Arts School campus.
FWOOSH!
A dark figure sprinted and bounded across the rooftops of the academic buildings at incredible speed, like one of the legendary heroes of old who could walk on walls and leap from eaves.
About thirty seconds later, the dark figure reached the roof of an academic building not far from them. With a light leap, the figure's toes tapped in quick succession down several window ledges before landing gracefully on the ground.
This was a middle-aged man of average build, dressed in a black Tang suit. His jet-black hair was meticulously combed back, and a faint, composed smile graced his lips. His eyes held a profound calm, the kind that would not waver even if Mount Tai were to collapse before him. More than youthful beauty, it was this aura of experience, honed by a lifetime of trials, that was truly captivating.
"Master..."
Yang Sheng's expression lit up at the sight of the middle-aged man. He rushed forward and bowed respectfully.
The identity of the middle-aged man who had just appeared by running across rooftops was all but certain.
The old headmaster of Changhe Martial Arts School.
Although he was over seventy years old, he looked to be in his forties at most.
The old headmaster walked over slowly, waved a hand at the bowing Yang Sheng, and came to stand before Zhou Yuanjue. To Yang Sheng's utter shock, the headmaster clasped his fists in salute to Zhou Yuanjue, then bowed slightly and said, "I was unaware of your esteemed arrival, Senior. Please forgive me for not welcoming you sooner."
Yang Sheng's jaw hung open. For his master, a man of his strength and standing in the Martial Arts Realm, to actually bow to a young man who looked no older than his twenties, and even address him as "Senior"...
This couldn't help but bring to mind certain legends—tales of terrifyingly powerful masters whose cultivation of the Martial Dao was so profound it could defy creation itself, allowing them to return to a state of simplicity, to achieve Rejuvenation. They looked young, but in reality, they were ancient monsters.
'Could this young man be one of those mythical beings?'
"You don't have to do that. In terms of age, you're of my grandfather's generation."
Zhou Yuanjue said with a wave of his hand.
'Grandfather's generation...'
Zhou Yuanjue's reply once again defied Yang Sheng's expectations. 'It means his real age is close to what it appears to be. Yet, at such a young age, he commands the respect of my own master, who calls him Senior.'
Yang Sheng's pupils contracted. He finally connected Zhou Yuanjue's identity with a rumor that had recently been sweeping through the Martial Arts Realm.
"On the path of the Dao, achievement takes precedence over age. It is only right that I call you Senior."
The old headmaster said with a smile, then turned to Yang Sheng. "Go take care of things in the combat training hall for now."
"Yes, Master."
Yang Sheng took a deep look at Zhou Yuanjue and his companion, then slowly turned and walked back toward the combat training hall.
"May I ask what brings you here this time, Senior?"
After watching Yang Sheng leave, the old headmaster asked Zhou Yuanjue.
"What do you think?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked in return.
"At the behest of *that* person, I presume?"
The old headmaster said with a sigh.
