Invincibility Begins with Mastery of Fist Techniques-Chapter 126 - 122: Terror
Everyone in the hospital room, along with those within a certain radius outside, experienced a drastic spike in body temperature and a violent physical reaction under the influence of the suddenly expanding and intensifying Life Magnetic Field.
They collapsed to the ground in unison like scythed wheat, overcome by dizziness, intense discomfort, and nausea. Amidst a chorus of retching, vomit pooled on the floor.
If the field had continued to intensify, they would have very likely suffered permanent physical damage from the extreme heat, or even died from organ failure.
Fortunately, at that moment, Zhou Yuanjue's eyes snapped open. He sat up in bed, and upon seeing the disastrous scene in the room, he froze for a moment.
Having just advanced to Saint Awakening, he didn't yet have a true grasp of his own power. Without realizing it, as his body completed its final reinforcement, the release of his Life Magnetic Field had become a bit too intense.
While it may have been a minor event for him, for ordinary people, it was potentially lethal.
Now, he finally realized that he was completely different from the person he used to be.
Although killing someone had been easy for him before, it at least required a deliberate act; there was no risk of accidental casualties.
But now, a single careless action could snuff out a life, or even a crowd of them.
After a brief daze, Zhou Yuanjue quickly came to his senses. He immediately suppressed his body's heightened state. His heartbeat gradually slowed, his blood flow calmed, and his Life Magnetic Field rapidly receded.
PANT! PANT!
The doctors and nurses scattered across the floor began to pant heavily in relief, as if trying to expel the intense heat from their bodies.
Seeing this, Zhou Yuanjue once again used his Psychic Power, this time to project a carefully controlled Life Magnetic Field. It spread out and gradually helped the doctors' and nurses' own Life Magnetic Fields return to normal.
The doctors and nurses on the floor slowly climbed to their feet. The short-haired female doctor helped the old director beside her to stand as well.
If her feelings toward Zhou Yuanjue had previously been a mix of curiosity and surprise, after this incident, they had turned to sheer terror.
In her entire life, she had never been so close to death.
The intense fear was so overwhelming that she didn't even dare to lift her head and look directly at the figure on the bed.
'How could a mere mortal blaspheme a God with their gaze?'
The old director beside her, however, was far more experienced. He was well aware of how terrifying people like this could be, having dealt with them before, and was able to remain composed.
He gently patted the short-haired doctor's shoulder, signaling for her not to panic. With a somewhat resigned look, he turned to Zhou Yuanjue on the bed. "My goodness, you nearly sent half of our hospital's top staff to see Yama."
"Uh... sorry about that..."
Zhou Yuanjue replied, at a slight loss for words, as he pulled the various sensors and IV needles from his body. The old director noticed that the puncture wound on his hand was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
'This level of Recovery Ability... not even a typical Saint Awakening would have this, right...?'
"How are you feeling now?"
The old director asked tentatively.
"I feel great. Are there any clothes I can change into? I don't really like hospital gowns."
Zhou Yuanjue stood up from the bed. Even though he was deliberately suppressing his Life Magnetic Field, his tall, powerful frame still exuded an immense, suffocating pressure on the surrounding medical staff.
Considering what had just happened, some of the younger nurses were trembling like sieves.
The old director seemed to notice everyone's discomfort and quickly said, "Of course. Why don't you come wait in my office? I'll go find you a change of clothes. This place is a complete mess; it's no place to linger."
Zhou Yuanjue nodded and followed the old director out of the hospital room.
Only after the two of them had completely disappeared from the room did the medical staff snap out of their daze. One by one, they let out long, shuddering sighs of relief, as if a great weight had been lifted from their chests.
"Clean up this room, quickly. And check the other floors for anyone who was affected. Make sure they don't talk about what happened today."
The short-haired doctor snapped out of her stupor, her expression turning serious as she addressed the staff.
...
...
In the director's office, Zhou Yuanjue, now dressed in casual clothes the old director had found for him, sat in a chair with his eyes closed, composing himself.
His Spirit gradually condensed into a sphere, radiating a golden light. His aura grew more and more restrained as he willed his heart to slow to its minimum frequency. By hiding his Spirit and Life Magnetic Field to the greatest extent possible, the terrifying pressure that constantly radiated from him finally dissipated for the most part.
This was an after-effect of the explosive growth in his power. He could no longer control his strength as perfectly as before and would need time to adapt and integrate it.
He opened his eyes to find the old director sitting across from him, sizing him up with great interest. The short-haired female doctor stood behind the director. When she saw his eyes open, she quickly averted her gaze, forcing her expression into a mask of composure.
"What was the final outcome on Haisa Island?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked the old director, his expression calm.
"That's classified. I'm only part of the logistical support system; I'm not authorized to know the specifics of the incident. However, I've already notified the Secret Inspection Bureau of your Awakening. I expect they'll send someone over soon. You can ask them for the details then."
The old director said, shaking his head.
"What about Jiang Jiushan? Is he still alive?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked after a nod.
"He's alive, but he's not in nearly as good shape as you are. He made it through the initial critical phase and his condition has stabilized, but there are no signs of improvement. Furthermore, his brainwave scans show almost no activity. That means even if his body recovers, he'll most likely be in a vegetative state."
The old director said with a sigh, shaking his head.
"If he's alive, he'll wake up."
Zhou Yuanjue said slowly.
"Oh? And what makes you so sure?"
The old director asked in surprise. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"An ordeal like this isn't enough to stop someone like us from moving forward."
Zhou Yuanjue said calmly.
The two continued to chat for a while. The old director seized the moment, asking Zhou Yuanjue numerous questions about the mental and physical changes that came with ascending to Saint Awakening. For him, this was a golden opportunity.
Zhou Yuanjue answered all his questions openly.
「About half an hour later.」
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
There was a knock on the office door, and a tall man walked in.
It was Lu Zhen, a squad leader from the Secret Inspection Bureau whom Zhou Yuanjue knew well.
A white bandage was visible at his collar. Two gruesome scars, which looked as if the stitches had only recently been removed, ravaged one side of his face, giving him a terrifying appearance.
"You're awake."
Seeing Zhou Yuanjue sitting there completely unharmed, Lu Zhen couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. A flicker of awe then crossed his eyes; clearly, he understood what Zhou Yuanjue had now become.
Then, he turned his gaze to the old director. "Director, could you give us some privacy?"
The old director nodded, gave Zhou Yuanjue a brief farewell, and left the room with the short-haired doctor.
"So, what was the final outcome on Haisa Island?"
Zhou Yuanjue waited until their figures had disappeared from the office before he finally asked.
