Interstellar Beastworld: Raising A Cub With My Mummy System!-Chapter 62
She lifted him out, cradling him against her chest. He rooted immediately, his head turning, his mouth searching. She fumbled with her shirt, wincing as the fabric caught on skin that was already tender.
The little guy latched on and his crying immediately stopped.
She sighed and leaned back, they were definitely not going to do any funny business for a while.
Still, Lin Yue wondered where Uriel could have gone so early.
Unbeknownst to her, he had left immediately, she fell asleep.
Changing into his wolf form, he roamed the night, searching for the coyote who thought he could escape death.
And when he finally found him, Uriel decided to take his time with this prey.
"Your majesty, you’ve finally come for me."
Uriel circled Selas, a dark gaze in his eyes.
After making sure they were alone, he changed back. Selas could see the visible anger in his eyes.
"I hope you’ll be more civil in my last hours. After all, I’m the one who’s going to die."
Uriel scoffed and within a blink of the eye.
His hand was already around Selas’s throat, claws digging into his skin as blood slowly trailed out.
"Now, one last question before I take your life. I’m angry so I can’t give an elegant death, I’m sure it will spoil your reputation as a gentleman but who cares, you’re only clean on the outside."
Selas laughed but his expression was dark.
"Fine, let’s cut the act. What’s your question?"
"Why my uncle?"
Selas shrugged, he had said this before. He worked for the money.
"He had the fattest pocket. No hard feelings, your Majesty."
Uriel laughed and placed his free hand on Selas’s neck as well.
Now he had his hands on both sides.
"Very well, since you live for the money, you shall die because of it."
After he said this, Uriel’s hands moved, ripping Selas apart until he was into two parts.
Blood sprayed everywhere, bathing in him in the act.
He threw the parts away and hissed in disgust.
"Magus, clean this mess and bury him with the money he was willing to die for. We head to my uncle’s immediately."
Magus appeared from the corner he was hiding and immediately called the cleaning crew.
"We’ll have this place spotless, in the meantime you should also take a bath. I’ll have fresh clothes prepared."
"Good. Cause I’m about to ruin his morning."
The estate of Lord Varnak sat on the eastern edge of the capital, old stone and older trees, the kind of wealth that did not need to announce itself. Uriel had grown up visiting this place. He had run through these gardens as a boy. He had sat at that dining table for holidays, for celebrations, for family portraits that now hung in corridors he would never walk again.
He stood a head above most men, his 6’5 frame cutting a striking silhouette even before the eye could settle on the details. The white suit clung to him with deliberate precision, each line tailored to sharpen rather than soften his height. Broad shoulders were emphasized by the structured cut, the high collar framing his neck in a way that made his expression seem colder, more distant.
A slash of red crossed his chest.
The sash, bold and unyielding, broke through the pristine white like a mark of authority that could not be ignored. Fine chains draped from it, glinting faintly with each subtle movement, whispering of restraint, of control, of something dangerous beneath the elegance. They swayed when he shifted, slow and measured, never careless.
From his shoulder, the cape fell.
It did not simply hang. It commanded space. The deep crimson fabric cascaded behind him in a heavy, fluid line, long enough to trail without ever appearing cumbersome. When he moved, it followed a heartbeat later, like a shadow that knew its master. Against his height, it became something else entirely. Not decoration, but declaration.
His trousers were fitted, clean, tucked neatly into high white boots laced with exacting care. Each step he took was grounded, deliberate, the faint sound of leather against the floor carrying a quiet weight. Not loud, never loud. He did not need to be.
He did not look like a man dressed for display. He looked like a man dressed for power.
The guards at the gate recognized him. They bowed, their faces pale, their hands trembling as they opened the way. Word had spread. The prince was coming. No one knew why, but everyone knew it was not good.
Uriel walked through the gates without waiting for an escort. His boots crunched on the gravel. The cape whispered behind him.
Lord Varnak met him at the front steps.
He was dressed casually, as if he had not expected company. A sweater. Loose pants. Slippers. His hair was grey at the temples, his face lined with age, his smile warm and welcoming.
"Nephew. This is a surprise."
Uriel simply smiled and said "Don’t you like surprises?"
Lord Varnak laughed, then shook his head. "Ah, I’m getting quite old for tricks now."
Lord Varnak’s smile flickered. He stepped aside, gesturing toward the open door. "Come in. We can talk inside. I’ll have tea brought."
Uriel nodded and strolled in, he didn’t stop until he found the sitting area and took the most comfortable seat.
Lord Varnak followed after him, as the servant brought the tea along with some snacks.
"So, tell me why you’re really here."
Uriel didn’t stand on ceremony anymore and leaned back, interlacing his hands.
"How dare you steal from me?"
The smile vanished.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Uriel chuckled and freed his hand, so he took a sip of the tea.
He did this so he could calm his already overflowing rage.
"Uncle. Please don’t be foolish, it’s annoying." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Lord Varnak’s face hardened. "You have no proof."
Uriel reached into his jacket and pulled out a data slate. He held it up. "Every transaction. Every name. Every shell account traced back to you."
He let the silence stretch.
"I could kill you now," Uriel said. "I could have you arrested. I could drag your name through the courts and let the council tear apart everything you’ve built."
Lord Varnak’s hands curled into fists. "But you won’t."
"No." Uriel tucked the slate back into his jacket. "Because I want you to be alive to watch it."
