Interstellar Beast World: All My Husbands Are Powerful and Rich!-Chapter 35: Orders
Dax did not take the vial Rory offered him.
Instead, he reached into his own storage band and withdrew several sleek vials filled with pale green liquid. One by one, he placed them into Rory’s hands, the soft clink of glass sounding almost unreal in the tense clearing.
"Use these instead," he said almost casually. "They taste better."
Before Rory could even respond, Dax took the red vial she had been holding, uncorked it, and tossed it aside without hesitation. He showed no concern that she might question where such high-grade supplies had come from. At worst, he would simply admit that he had spent the star coins he had tricked out of Jasper. That thought didn’t trouble him in the slightest.
Rory stared down at the cluster of pale green vials now resting in her palms, her mind momentarily blank.
Am I dreaming?
Dax is actually giving me supplies instead of taking from me and complaining afterward?
And they were not just any supplies—premium-grade energy fluid.
She had seen these vials before in the light-brain online mall. They were manufactured by Starlight Prime Tech, a luxury brand whose prices alone made most hunters flinch.
A single vial cost a staggering one hundred thousand star coins. The expense wasn’t for taste alone; the effects were nearly miraculous. One sip could restore stamina almost instantly.
By comparison, the red energy fluid Rory had retrieved earlier took half an hour just to start working—and nearly a full hour to completely replenish strength.
So Paros hadn’t been exaggerating after all. The Blood Moon Fox kind truly lived in another financial realm.
Rory lifted her gaze to Dax, disbelief written plainly across her face.
"Wait—are you really giving all of this to me? Do you even have any left for yourself?"
Dax nodded without hesitation. "Plenty."
He flashed her a grin, produced yet another vial from his band, popped it open, and drank it in one smooth motion.
She’s worried I’ll run out, he thought, strange warmth blooming quietly in his chest. If only she could stay like this forever. I could get used to that.
Seeing that he was far from lacking supplies, Rory finally relaxed. She let out a soft breath, selected one of the pale green vials, and drank. The fluid went down smoothly, faintly sweet and refreshing, and warmth spread through her limbs almost immediately.
She didn’t worry about him asking for repayment later. She had more than enough star coins now.
After resting for just over ten minutes, the group rose and resumed their search for beast packs. The forest was still cloaked in darkness when, just before dawn, the once-quiet instrument strapped to Gina’s mate began to shriek with sharp, urgent beeps.
His expression changed instantly.
"This is bad," he said grimly. "Over a thousand beasts are charging toward us. There is even a level eight beast mixed in—and the readings show severe wild energy turbulence. They’ve likely gone berserk." His voice hardened then. "We need to hide. Now."
Everyone understood the implication.
The gap between level seven and level eight was not linear—it was a chasm. A single level eight beast could wipe out an entire field of Rank Seven Etherians without breaking a sweat.
They couldn’t rely on a Gravicar in terrain like this. The dense forest left only one option.
Run. As fast as possible.
"North," Rory said sharply, seizing Dax’s hand as she broke into a sprint.
She had been through this forest before. To the south lay a vast expanse of man-eating creepers—plants far more dangerous than beasts. Gina trusted Rory’s judgment without question and immediately led her mate north as well.
Mindy Lane, however, scowled. She glanced at the readings again and shook her head.
"We’re not going north," she snapped. "We go south."
The instruments clearly showed the beast tide surging northward. Logic dictated that the south was safer.
"Once things settle, we’ll regroup with Gina," Mindy said decisively. She turned to the three members of the Interstellar Hunter Alliance. "You should come with me. South is safer."
The male at the peak of level seven shook his head.
"We’re going north."
Only moments earlier, he had received a direct order: protect the female named Rory. It was only then that he realized this seemingly unremarkable Rank Four woman was their superior’s huntress.
And their superior was already on his way.
A level nine peak powerhouse.
To someone like that, a berserk beast tide was little more than an inconvenience. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Watching the three Alliance hunters sprint after Rory without hesitation, Mindy stamped her foot in frustration.
Her mate hesitated, lowering his voice.
"Ms. Lane... are we really going south?"
He had noticed it too—Rory’s familiarity with the forest, the way she moved with certainty. Perhaps she knew something worse lurked to the south.
Before he could finish voicing his doubts, Mindy had already grabbed another of her mates and bolted south. He had no choice but to follow.
Rory’s group ran without stopping for over two relentless hours. The beast tide drew closer, the ground trembling beneath their feet like a living thing. Behind them, the three Alliance hunters kept pace, never letting Rory out of their sight.
Finally, Rory called out over the pounding of footsteps,
"Thirty more minutes! There’s a mountain ahead with a deeply hidden cave. If we mask our scent, the beasts won’t find us."
Gina was breathing hard now, fear etched into her expression.
"But the potions we have only block level seven beasts," she said. "There’s a level eight among them."
Without that level eight beast, they wouldn’t even be running. A tide this large was practically a moving treasure vault of beast cores.
The peak level seven hunter reached into his band and pulled out two vials.
"These block the perception of level eight beasts," he said. "But I only have two."
He stepped forward and placed both vials directly into Rory’s hands.
"Honorable Female Master," he said solemnly. "Our orders are to ensure your safety—at all costs."
