Interstellar Beast World: All My Husbands Are Powerful and Rich!-Chapter 169: All trouble
Rory’s breathing grew uneven in the darkness. Jasper’s arm around her felt like an inescapable restraint—yet it was so careful, so tender, that it made her heart tremble.
His chest was pressed firmly against her back.
"Jasper..."
Her voice was barely audible, the last syllable cut off as his arm tightened slightly around her waist.
The light-brain lay discarded on the bedside table, giving off a faint clink as it settled.
Jasper rested his chin in the hollow of her shoulder, his nose brushing her sensitive earlobe as if by accident.
Rory could feel the heat of his breath, carrying that faint, cool fragrance unique to him.
"Rory... I’ve advanced."
His voice was deeper than usual—low and husky in a way that sent a shiver down her spine.
"We can bond now."
He had waited for this day for a very long time.
Her breath hitched. He was too close—close enough that she could feel the steady rise and fall of his chest, and beneath it, the restrained, burning desire he had held back for so long.
His lips grazed her earlobe, not quite a kiss, not quite not—a silent declaration that he did not want to wait any longer.
"Rory..."
He whispered her name again, the sound faintly trembling as if he were restraining himself with effort.
His hand slid slowly to her waist, fingertips brushing through the thin fabric of her nightclothes. The pressure was neither too light nor too heavy, but it made her entire body stiffen.
His touch was exploratory, deliberate—moving inch by inch along the line of her spine. Every brush of his fingers sparked a tiny flame beneath her skin, tightening her breath.
Without realizing it, Rory clutched at his clothing—only to have him turn the motion into an interlocking of fingers, his grip firm, refusing to let go.
His nose trailed down the side of her neck. Warm breath spilled over the most sensitive parts of her skin, making her tremble.
His lips touched her collarbone, leaving a faint, rosy mark behind—like a quiet claim.
Her back arched slightly, her heartbeat racing wildly in her chest.
She could feel the tension in his body, the strength coiled beneath his skin, the intensity he was holding back.
"Rory..." His voice was hoarse, almost rough. "I’ve waited so long for this."
His hand slipped beneath the edge of her nightclothes, palm settling against the bare skin of her waist. The heat of him felt almost electric, making her go weak.
His kisses traced upward along her neck and hovered near her lips, not quite claiming them—testing her patience.
"Jasper..." she breathed, her voice carrying a tremor she could no longer hide.
That was the last thread of restraint.
He lowered his head and kissed her.
Outside.
Xarion and Nix both sensed the shift in aura from the bedroom.
They moved toward the door at once.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Rory! Did Jasper wake up?" Nix called out. "That Rank Ten presence isn’t restrained at all. Did he lose control of his ability when he woke? He didn’t hurt you, did he?"
Inside, dazed and flushed, Rory snapped back to reality at the sound of Nix’s voice. She hurriedly pushed Jasper away.
Her fingertips were still pressed against his chest, feeling the heat of his skin and the pounding of his heart.
"I almost forgot—we’re still in the rest cabin."
The soundproofing here wasn’t good. Any noise would be heard outside.
Her face burned bright red.
Jasper’s eyes were still dark with lingering intensity. His thumb pressed firmly over her flushed lips. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Rory... let’s go back first thing tomorrow morning, alright?"
He truly couldn’t wait any longer.
She nodded quickly. "Alright."
He kissed her once more—brief but unwilling to part—then reluctantly let her go, pulling the blanket up over her shoulders.
After straightening his clothes, he stepped out to open the door.
Outside, Nix nearly jumped with joy when he saw Jasper.
"You’re really awake? Did you and Rory bond already?"
Was that something you could just ask directly?
Jasper gently shut the bedroom door behind him and lowered his voice.
"I just woke up. Rory’s asleep. We’ll head back tomorrow morning. We’ll discuss bonding after we return."
Nix nodded rapidly.
"Right, right! The conditions here are too poor. Not suitable for bonding at all. Then you can sleep on the sofa with me tonight."
Jasper agreed.
Xarion, who had been silent until now, glanced at Jasper and said calmly, "Hurry."
Jasper wasn’t in a rush.
He was. He was still in line, after all.
Jasper sighed and shook his head. He truly had no desire to converse with Xarion.
Xarion had no intention of continuing the discussion anyway. He turned and went back to lie in his crystal coffin.
On the sofa, Nix eagerly shared the good news in the group chat with Vincent and Yuel.
Nix: Good news! Jasper’s awake!
They had all assumed it would take another couple of days.
Yuel replied instantly.
Yuel: When did he wake? Did they bond? When are you coming back?
Three questions at once. Nix didn’t even know which to answer first.
Nix: Just woke up. Didn’t bond. Jasper said we’re heading back first thing tomorrow.
Vincent: Understood. Take good care of Rory.
Jasper, seated at the other end of the sofa, opened his own light-brain. The first thing he saw was the links Nix had sent him earlier.
"Nix, what exactly did you send me?"
Nix stiffened. He had completely forgotten about that.
Then inspiration struck. He leaned closer and whispered conspiratorially:
"They’re links to help you bond successfully—and take good care of Rory. I paid a high price to get them from Yuel. There are even some videos. I only sent them to you. No one else. I’m loyal, right? And don’t tell anyone."
Jasper narrowed his eyes slightly.
Only him?
He had doubts.
Still, he said calmly, "Thank you. I won’t mention it."
Mission accomplished.
Nix beamed.
That method of handling things? He’d learned it from his uncle—Matt Slade.
It was clearly effective.
After finishing his messages, Nix immediately began shopping on his light-brain for decorations and supplies.
Once they returned and Jasper bonded with Rory, it would be his turn.
He would prepare everything perfectly. The room would be beautiful. Rory would be happy.
In the corner, the little pink rabbit watched Jasper leave the bedroom and longed to slip inside to be near Rory.
Before he could reach the door, Jasper intercepted him.
Grabbing him by the ears, Jasper lifted him effortlessly.
"Go sleep on the sofa. Don’t disturb Rory."
Aren’s eyes narrowed. He was starting to realize that in this household, aside from the Female Master and Nix, the rest of them were all trouble.
