Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 442 - Necessary Conversations

After our heart to heart talk about his fears and assuring him that I am not with him just for the fun, I told him that I will need to leave further north for my tasks. Although he wasn’t totally willing, he understood that there were things that I needed to do and responsibilities I have accepted even before I met him and his brothers. I honestly told him that I will make him the co-owner of the open area and will add his registration and that of his two brothers under my household once I go back to Hoffen City.

I gave Damian a ring, similar to the temporary ones I have given to my husbands before I was able to officially bring them to Eieneos. I told him that I will send him things and money regularly through the ring as part of his allowance since no matter what others say, he is already my husband. I told him he can send me stuff too if he wants to and I will see it immediately since the storage space is shared between us.

I had to come clean as well about my non-human identity and asked him if he wants to live with me for as long as possible and he readily said "yes". I gave the same bottles I have given my previous husbands and in-laws to help them gradually strengthen and change their bodies. The sooner it happens for him, the better.

I asked him if he wants me to change his brothers as well but he said that for their case, he wants them to decide on their own once they were older since this is definitely a huge step. I nodded in understanding, respecting his decision about his brothers’ freedom of choice.

I suddenly remembered that though I have insiders in the land purchasing and business registration offices, I failed to consider having one in the family registration office as well. I would be needing their help the most now that I have decided to focus on expanding the number of members in my household and adding more children to the mix. I might need to look into someone who can take this role once I am back in Hoffen City. It would be easier to make things official and to add people officially but secretly if I had an insider there.

For today, since I only have a few days left to spend in Kolyer, I decided to just do one more tour of the place and check on the areas being constructed along the way. I did a quick check on my newly hired employees as well and see if the businesses are running well. Damian and his brothers have also been doing well in managing the things in the open area for me which makes me feel a little less worried about leaving.

For the first time, I was able to meet the three leaders of the different Kolyer regions. The three fighting childish men from Ferreira, Oriol and Erdene have finally decided to sit around a single table with me to talk about plans for this mining territory for the next couple of years. Well, it happened due to an ultimatum from me. It took some threats about losing ownership of the region once I tattle about the people suffering due to their nonstop fights to the royal family.

For once, we were able to discuss calmly and seriously. They couldn’t keep their curiosity anymore as they asked who bought the rights to the open area. I smiled at them and responded, "Before I was assigned as an envoy, I was working with Halcyon Corporation first. I help my employer secure this land since nobody seems to care about it. We had the land registration office check if it has an owner and when it was confirmed that there was none, Halcyon bought it."

The leaders looked at me in a new light as they realized that nobody would find out about the ownerless open area if there wasn’t an insider. I smiled at them and said, "I am a businesswoman. If I see potential and profitability, I grab it before anyone else does. Isn’t that a normal thing to do?"

I changed the topic and started explaining to them the use of the trading post that I chose to build in my property since I only plan to build one. It is such a waste of resources to build three just because the leaders complain or are envious of each other. It is also not like they will let the people from the other regions to enter their territory freely. I do not want anyone trying to monopolize the service.

I then asked them when do they think the improvements on their territories will be completed and most of them say that it may take a month at most. I nodded my head and did not complain about the timelines they have provided. Once the meeting was over, as if they have already had an agreement beforehand which is a miracle by the way, they had their servants bring over a ton of food in the meeting room so that I can no longer decline the invitation for lunch. It seems that they have noticed that I avoid sharing meals with them because of my irritation. As expected, together with the overabundance of food, their wives and children came in as well. They seemed to have been planning this meeting for the longest time since they looked like they all dressed to the nines.

I politely greeted everybody that were seated around the table. The Ferreira household has one son and one daughter, ages 19 and 15, respectively. The Oriol household has two sons, ages 20 and 17. Lastly, the Erdene house has 1 daughter and 2 sons, ages 20, 19 and 17, respectively.

Suddenly, the room became crowded. Including me, there are a total of 14 people and we have not even counted the attendants that are serving the food and drinks. Though I have been to many parties and met a lot of people, I still feel uncomfortable when parents are obviously trying to push their children towards me to make a connection either through friendship or a possible marriage alliance. I don’t know why they don’t understand that these things can’t be forced.
