Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 433 - Three brothers for sale
Chapter 433: Chapter 433 - Three brothers for sale
The three boys, compared to the couple who should be their parents and their younger sister were dressed worse than servants or slaves. The eldest of the three should be in his late teens and he was instructed to stand still in the middle of this crowded area while his two younger siblings were behind him.
The young man was a bit emaciated while his hands and feet were calloused from working for many years. He was dressed in what looked like rags filled with stitches that barely held the cloth together. The cloth was already so thin that you can already make a mental picture of his body. His hands were trying its hardest to cover the area between his legs. He looked tired and numb about everything that was happening and was simply staring blankly on the ground.
Behind him, the two younger boys were seated on the ground. The second to the youngest should be around 12 or 13 and he was also emaciated and pale. He may be sick as he was just seating weakly with silent tears flowing from his eyes. The youngest one who should be around 8 or 9 years old was just staring blankly forward as if he was in his own world and everything that was happening has nothing to do with him.
The second brother was hugging the youngest brother tightly as if he was scared that somebody will suddenly drag him away. The older brother was also obviously shielding his younger siblings from the prying eyes of the people in the open area.
I heard a few people asking the elderly man which we can just call the "seller" the price he is offering for the eldest boy. The seller chuckled and shook his head. He then replied in a nonchalant manner, "I am not that cruel to separate them. Besides, my eldest son’s condition to willingly sell himself is that they have to be sold together under one master. The price is at 500 silvers for all three of them. They are young and untouched."
There was a collective gasp around the area when they heard of the price. Five hundred silver is way more expensive than the pricing of slaves in the city so the man ended up being berated. He then explained that it was for their families future since he plan to bring his wife and daughter to another place for a better life.
Some of the people who know the seller personally mocked him and eventually his sons as well. One particular guy spoke the loudest as he said, "Are you out of your damn mind? You are selling these weaklings for 500 silvers? The first one just came of age and isn’t even skilled enough to work in the mines. The second one is sickly and can’t do work at all. The third one, you beat up so much that he became retarded. They can be considered all damaged one way or another. Even brothels don’t sell their men for such a price!"
His comments earned a lot of mocking laughter from the crowd. The sellers face turned green from anger as he shouted back, "I am the one selling so I dictate the price. Shut your mouth if you do not have the money to buy them. You are just envious that you don’t have any sons you can sell. If you want to stay in this damned place forever, that’s you, not me!"
As the seller and a bunch of people started fighting, I sneakily approached the eldest son who was looking towards the ground. I can see his neck and ears were flushed from embarrassment and maybe anger from the situation he and his brothers were in. When he saw my feet approach him, he hurriedly made a step back as he suddenly looked up to look at my face.
When he saw that it was a young woman who is about his age, his eyes narrowed as he looked at me wearily. He stepped back a few more steps, shielding his two younger brothers. He looked around and seemed confused as to why none of the people noticed that I was already standing in front of him.
As he looked back towards my face, I smiled at him and asked, "What are your names and how old were you?" The eldest guy simply stared at me and refused to answer my question. The second brother seemingly wanting to get out of their predicament answered quickly, "My brother just turned 17 and his name is Damian. I am Darren and I am 12. This one is Dylan, he’s only 8."
The eldest, Damian looked at his younger brother Darren with anger. Darren looked at Damian with a sheepish grin. Dylan who was staring blankly all along suddenly looked up and stared at me. Without any warning, he stood up and escaped from Darren’s grasp, ran towards me and hugged my waist tightly as he resumed to staring blankly once more.
His sudden move surprised not only me but his two older brothers as well. I caressed his head gently and the young boy even rubbed his face on my clothes endearingly. He hugged me as if I was his last hope of survival and it honestly broke my heart.
Here I am doing my best to provide for my family and all my children while there is a couple like this who is selling theirs for the sake of their female child and a better future. How heartless.
Damian was the first to get his senses back as he asked, "What is your name and your age?" I smiled at him, "I’m Luna. I don’t want to tell you my age though." I then chuckled after my response while the guy widened his eyes in surprise.
Dylan, the ever talkative brother hurriedly ask, "Elder sister Luna, can you take us three in? You can marry my stupid elder brother. He’s teally handsome so he can give you beautiful children in the future. Me and my youngest brother are sickly but we know a lot of household chores. We will work for you to earn our keep!"
