Chapter 416 - 416: The True Holy Fork

Boom!

With a thunderous crash, the heavy city gates collapsed to the ground.

Countless soldiers swarmed in, their upright pitchforks forcing the enemy troops to retreat in disarray.

At long last, the Evil Grand Duke's castle had been breached. The knights, sensing their defeat, began to scatter and flee, while the soldiers storming into the city launched a ruthless pursuit.

Amidst the chaos, however, the elite unit led by King Arthur and Qin Ming was not swayed by the scattering enemy. They had a clear objective and headed straight for the depths of the castle—seeking to capture the enemy leader first.

With a creak, the grand doors slowly swung open. The infamous Evil Grand Duke, Garibaldi, finally appeared!

In the great hall, upon the throne, sat a towering man clad in silver armor, a crown resting on his head. His expression was cold and expressionless as he stared toward the intruders.

Flanking him on both sides were ten fully armed knights, each wielding axe-spears.

Though he hadn't said a word yet, a terrifying pressure was already radiating from him.

Chains were coiled around his right arm, and at the end of those chains hung a Star Mace.

Supporting himself on the armrest, the king slowly rose from the throne. His eyes swept across the crowd before him, and at last, he spoke in a frosty voice:

"You will all pay the price!"

As his words fell, the side doors behind the throne burst open. A flood of well-equipped soldiers poured out—Garibaldi's final trump card: the Royal Guard!

Every last one of them was an elite unit, and among them were numerous bosses. Most frightening of all, there were even some adventurers among them.

Though numbering less than a hundred, their combat strength was utterly terrifying.

But Qin Ming's side was no pushover either. His super-enhanced militia was armed to the teeth.

King Arthur's Round Table Knights were also each formidable in their own right.

If the two sides truly clashed, it was impossible to say who would emerge victorious.

However...

Qin Ming, standing at the forefront of the formation and locking eyes on the Evil Grand Duke, suddenly furrowed his brows.

Something was off about the data!

[Description: The world has always believed there was only one Evil Grand Duke, but in truth, there are two—the true emperor operating in the shadows, and the Evil Grand Duke seen in the open. This one is the evil emperor's younger brother: Allen!]

The true and false kings! This was one of the most famous and classic boss setups in the Round Table Knights game!

The Silver-Armored King and the Golden-Armored King—one was the King of Infantry, the other the King of Cavalry—both were extremely difficult to deal with.

On the way here, Qin Ming had already suspected as much. But now that he was staring at the actual fake king in front of him, and seeing such terrifying attributes, his heart still sank.

While Qin Ming was briefly stunned, King Arthur didn't waste a second.

The only thing he cared about was that the enemy had shown themselves—the final battle was here.

All along the way, he'd been trying to prove that he was stronger than Qin Ming. Now, without hesitation, he charged straight at Duke Garibaldi.

A brilliant light flashed from the Sword of Kings in his hand. Spinning with all his might, he unleashed a mighty overhead strike!

The peerlessly sharp sword, capable of slicing through gold and shattering jade—able to cleave through any armor with ease—clashed directly with the Star Mace wielded by the Evil Grand Duke.

Sparks exploded in all directions, but the two weapons were locked in a deadlock, evenly matched.

The legendary Sword in the Stone hadn't managed to cut through the Star Mace!

Seeing this, King Arthur's eyes widened in disbelief.

The Evil Grand Duke, who had parried the strike with his weapon, sneered. In a flash, he swung the mace sideways, striking Arthur square in the waist.

With a thunderous boom, even though King Arthur reacted at the last second and raised his sword to block, he was still sent flying.

Having knocked Arthur away with a single blow, the Evil Grand Duke spoke coldly:

"You knew you had a divine weapon that could cut through anything—did you really think I wouldn't prepare a counter for it?"

The Dark Hammer—a divine weapon meticulously crafted by the Evil Grand Duke specifically to counter the Sword in the Stone. Made from incredibly rare materials, it possessed the property of being indestructible. It was the perfect nemesis to Arthur's blade!

From the moment they failed to pull the Sword in the Stone and missed their chance to become the so-called Chosen King, the Garibaldi brothers had begun searching for a way to neutralize that divine weapon.

Not only the weapon—they even tried to forge a set of armor from the same material, to make themselves completely immune to the sword's power!

Unfortunately, while the armor was successfully forged, its weight exceeded all expectations and couldn't be worn at all.

Otherwise, the monster Qin Ming and the others would be facing now would truly be impervious to all weapons.

Watching Arthur crash into the wall with a boom, shattering it, the Evil Grand Duke roared with laughter. He stepped forward with heavy strides, leading his troops in a charge straight toward Qin Ming.

"King of the Holy Fork, huh?! The Holy Sword is no longer my match! Where's your fork? Come on, show it off!"

As he spoke, the Evil Grand Duke flung his Star Hammer, the chained weapon shooting straight at Qin Ming's face like a missile—only to be forcibly blocked by his raised arm.

Facing the Evil Grand Duke, who yanked on the chain to reel his hammer back, Qin Ming—being a king—naturally couldn't let the provocation slide. free𝑤ebnovel.com

So, he chose to engage immediately!

He raised his arm high and dramatically pulled out a... dinner fork.

Then, as the Evil Grand Duke stood dumbfounded, Qin Ming was already charging straight at him.

"In the name of the Holy Fork! Warriors, charge with me!"

"Charge!!!"

The battle cry rang out in unison. Qin Ming, waving a tiny fork, led the charge at the front, with countless soldiers wielding their weapons behind him.

Looking at the tiny fork in Qin Ming's hand, the Evil Grand Duke finally snapped out of his shock and burst into mocking laughter.

"Are you here to entertain me? The Holy Sword was no match for me—what could your puny little fork possibly—"

Crack!

Before he could finish, a sharp crack rang out.

As the two clashed, the fork stabbed straight toward him. Out of instinct, the Evil Grand Duke raised his supposedly indestructible Dark Star Hammer to block—and the dinner fork stabbed clean through it.

The so-called divine weapon was pierced as easily as tofu.

Looking at the absurd little fork that had almost stabbed him in the face, the mocking smile on the Evil Grand Duke's face froze, his eyes going round with disbelief.

"What the hell?!"

While he was still in shock, Qin Ming swung upward, knocking the weapon out of his hands and slamming into his body. Then, he grabbed the fork and began stabbing him wildly.

As the saying goes, "shorter weapons are riskier up close"—and sure enough, the little fork began punching holes into the Evil Grand Duke's enchanted armor like it was paper, dealing a rapid series of -1 -1 -1 -1 damage.

Ahem. The fork was short, after all, and with armor in the way, it couldn't stab very deep.

The physical damage might've been negligible, but the terrifying piercing ability of the fork clearly startled the Evil Grand Duke.

He cried out and stumbled backward, frantically swinging his weapon in an attempt to shake off the clinging Qin Ming.

But Qin Ming had activated his Sound Nest Combat Suit. Like an annoying piece of gum, he dodged each swing with uncanny prediction and kept closing in, giving the Evil Grand Duke acupuncture-style fork massages from every angle.

In no time at all, the Evil Grand Duke's armor was covered in tiny punctures. Qin Ming even managed to stab the fork into his foot—almost impaling it completely.

Qin Ming didn't actually possess a divine fork, but that didn't mean he couldn't make one.

He was the King of the Holy Fork, after all. Just in case someone ever discovered that his weapon was really just a common dinner utensil, he had invested heavily to create an actual artifact.

Behold—the True Holy Fork!

[Name: Farmer's Dinner Fork][Type: Weapon (Dim Legendary)][Effect 1: Attack Power 1–2][Effect 2: Ignores Defense][Description: Careful when eating with it—you might stab yourself.][Note: Non-spatially recognized equipment, cannot be taken out of the mission world.]

Stabbing away at the Evil Grand Duke, Qin Ming gritted his teeth as he looked at the pitifully small and weak fork in his hand.

Damn it! If I'd known I was going to fight with a fork, I'd have bragged about being the King of the Hammer! Or even the King of the Scythe would've worked!

How the hell am I supposed to kill someone with this tiny thing?!

The fight between Qin Ming and the Evil Grand Duke was messy and chaotic, with almost no actual damage being dealt.

But the glorious performance of the Holy Fork completely galvanized the surrounding militia.

To be honest, the farmers didn't really believe that Qin Ming's fork was some holy weapon.

After all, they weren't stupid. Who the hell uses a dinner fork as a divine weapon? But since the king said it was, they had to go along with it.

But now that they saw the fork actually was a divine weapon?! That changed everything!

Didn't this mean their king was truly a chosen one—like King Arthur?!

With morale soaring, the soldiers raised their pitchforks and advanced in formation, pushing the enemy back.

Some even charged straight at the Evil Grand Duke, hoping to help their king in battle.

Unfortunately, while their bravery was commendable, the difference in attributes was brutal.

Thanks to their gear, they could perhaps overwhelm regular knights whose stats weren't much higher than theirs.

But against the Evil Grand Duke, who had nearly ten times their stats, equipment advantage meant nothing.

Whether a walnut has a shell or not, when it meets a hammer, the result is the same.

Boom! With a single swing, the Evil Grand Duke sent two farmer-soldiers flying, killing them on the spot. His expression was now utterly vicious.

Seeing his comrades killed right in front of him, Qin Ming's face twisted with rage.

"You bastard, you dare kill my people?! I'll gut you!"

With a roar, Qin Ming flung his fork aside, raised his hand, and began channeling blood energy for a furious bombardment.
