Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss-Chapter 418 - 416: She will learn from this
"N-No… no…!" she gasped as she tried to rip it off, but her fingers wouldn't even move properly anymore.
"Hey! She's mine!" the woman with the whip shouted, stepping forward in anger.
Another figure appeared and walked toward Areum—a woman with the exact same face, same height, same smirk as the first. Her clothes were different, but her eyes had the same cruel light.
"Boss said we need her pretty, sis," the second woman said, voice mocking. Then without warning, she kicked Areum hard in the side. Areum's body rolled on the dirt like a broken doll and stopped only when she felt a heavy weight pressing down on her again.
It was the boss—he stepped onto her stomach with one boot with a grin,
"Areum!" the village chief shouted in despair from where he was trapped in the glowing net.
"G-Grandpa…" Areum muttered, trying to move her hand toward him, but it barely lifted an inch.
The chief tried to struggle, crawling a little closer even while the net pulsed, burning faintly with yellow light. "Let her go!" he screamed. "Let her go, please! Take me instead! Take me! Just leave them alone!"
Areum coughed, "Stop… Grandpa… don't…"
But then something changed—his ears, which had looked human, They stretched upward, growing pointed.
"He's… an elf…"
The chief looked at the boss with pleading eyes. "Elves are worth more than the others, right? Just take me and leave everyone else alone. I'm begging you."
The boss's eyes sparkled with excitement like he had found buried treasure. "Oho~ another elf, other than that Sani Callista? Hahahaha! This is perfect!"
Then his grin twisted into something darker. "But no. I'll be taking all of you."
Areum gritted her teeth, face pale, her lips bleeding slightly as she tried to speak. Her voice came out soft and cracked, "H-help us… please…"
The boss looked down at her with annoyance. "What are you screaming for? No one's coming. Your dear chief should've never isolated you people."
But Areum wasn't looking at him anymore—she looked past him, eyes wide, filled with something the others didn't see yet.
"I… I will come back with you," she said, louder now, her gaze steady.
Seojun walked forward slowly, calmly, his hands in his coat pockets, the firelight flickering off his shadow as he stepped into the clearing.
"Boss, looks like one slipped past us," the whip-wielding woman muttered turning toward Seojun.
The boss looked at him, frowning. "Hey, what are you doing here? While I'm being kind, leave and shut your mouth."
The second twin smiled darkly. "Why don't we take him too, boss? Look at him. Young, handsome. Bet he'd fetch a high price as a sex toy."
The boss laughed and walked over to Seojun, looking him up and down like he was shopping for meat. "Hmm. He looks weak… but yeah, his face is worth something."
Then, with a dismissive wave, the boss turned around and said to the twins, "Go take him with us."
But the next thing the boss saw was the sky.
Then nothing. Because the moment he turned around—his head was no longer attached to his body.
His body swayed, then collapsed to the dirt with a dull thud.
"BOSS!"
"You—!" one of the women shouted, eyes wide with rage.
Blood soaked into the ground where the boss once stood, and Seojun slowly lowered his hand, the gleam of the dagger blade in his palm fading like a passing shadow. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
The two women—the twins—rushed at the same time, One came from the left, the other from the right, both going for Seojun with wild eyes and raised weapons, one swinging her whip and the other manifested a mana net in her hands ready to strike him together—
But in the blink of an eye, Seojun was no longer where he had been.
He was standing right in front of them.
Without giving them a chance to react, he reached out and grabbed both of them by the neck with his bare hands—one hand for each twin, lifting them off the ground like they were just light pieces of cloth.
Their eyes widened in shock, legs kicking in the air, claws scratching at his arms, trying to break free, but it was useless.
The woman with the whip tried to lash it forward, the glowing blue whip snapping through the air and hitting Seojun's side with a loud crack—but nothing happened.
"What—" she gasped, but didn't finish her sentence.
Because then came a soft but terrifying sound.
Clack.
The sound of bones breaking.
Seojun crushed both their necks at the same time, as if snapping a pair of sticks and flames appeared in Seojun's hands, The fire spread across the twins' bodies, and in a few seconds, their corpses crumbled into black dust, leaving nothing behind but ashes that blew away in the wind.
Then, all at once, the shackles on the villagers and nets vanished into thin air, and the light that held the chief faded away. People gasped as they sat up, free again, some holding each other, some crying.
The mana suppression was gone.
Everyone was silent, eyes wide, watching the man who had just burned their enemies into dust with nothing but his hands.
As the dark flames faded from Seojun's hands, the villagers slowly stood up one by one, their legs shaking but their eyes filled with relief and hope, and the first to move was the chief who rushed to Areum's side falling to his knees and gently pulling her up into his arms while others gathered around, some crying, some whispering her name softly.
"She's breathing," one of them said.
Then, all of them turned to look at Seojun, The villagers walked to him, and the chief carefully placed Areum into the arms of one of the younger men before stepping forward, wiping the dirt and blood from his face, and with deep respect, he bowed low, his back bending fully.
"Thank you," the chief said, "You have saved our village. We owe you everything From this day forward, our village will swear loyalty to you."
The others behind him bowed as well, their voices echoing in soft agreement.
Seojun gave a small nod, Then, his eyes shifted to Areum, unconscious, her face bruised, her body weak after giving everything she had.
The chief looked at Seojun again, understanding in his eyes, then looked at his granddaughter with sadness but also acceptance.
"Thank you… not only for saving us, but for letting her try," the chief said quietly. "I know you could have help us quickly, but you waited… for her to see the truth with her own eyes. That no matter how strong one becomes, there are things you can't do alone. That rushing forward with only emotion will lead to danger, to failure… and sometimes, to death."
He looked down at Areum, brushing her hair back gently.
"She will learn from this," the chief said.
