Infinite Game - Start With SSS Rank Class-Chapter 117: Night Parade of a Hundred Demons (8)
Death Skeleton stood still, the lantern on its scythe flickering like some kind of signal.
A group of mutated zombies emerged from the fog.
Zombie Tanker, Zombie Licker, and there were even Zombie Hunter.
Zombie Hunter was quite tall, about two meters, with a slim, well-proportioned build. Its arms were two bone blades, and its head looked a bit like a Licker, while its skin resembled a Tanker.
2 Zombie Hunters, 5 Zombie Tankers, 15 Zombie Lickers.
Too many.
They didn’t seem to pay Selina any attention, but the moment she attacked them, they would immediately retaliate.
"Run!" Narok shouted. "You’re not their match."
Even though Narok was already a Rank 4 Tenant, that was thanks to his older sister and his room’s defensive capabilities.
So if he truly faced this many mutated zombies, his odds were basically zero.
Selina was different. She frowned, glanced at the zombies, then looked at Narok and smiled. "You said you’re even stronger than an Owner, right?"
"Then you kill these zombies. If you can wipe them all out, I’ll tell my Owner to let me become your woman."
Narok’s mouth fell open, unable to believe it.
"Y-you... what did you say? Kill all of those zombies?"
As he spoke, his eyes involuntarily shifted to the zombie group.
They moved very slowly, yet they carried a terrifying momentum that was hard to believe.
Especially the Zombie Hunters. The killing intent they radiated made Narok so scared his legs almost went soft.
If he really fought, then... he would definitely die.
If it were only one Zombie Hunter, maybe he could escape. But he would have to face not just two Zombie Hunters, but also the other mutated zombies. That was impossible.
"Are you crazy?" Narok roared in anger. "Do you even know what they are? They’re mutated zombies! Fuck!"
Selina didn’t listen to Narok. She casually lifted her sword.
Whoosh!
A crescent-shaped streak of light shot toward a Licker and slashed across it.
But the moment the light touched its skin, it dissipated like soap bubbles.
It didn’t injure the Licker, but the Licker turned its head toward Selina.
Not just it. The entire zombie group stopped, their eyes slowly shifting to her.
Narok was so scared his scalp trembled, his spine turning icy as if he were standing in an ice cellar.
He clenched his teeth. "Y-you... you’re insane!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Selina glanced at him. Her eyes were full of delight, the kind of delight a predator has when teasing its prey.
KRIT!!
At that moment, the Licker behind charged in. Selina didn’t even turn around. Her sword hand flicked lightly.
Whoosh!
A sharp gust sounded. A dazzling sword light flashed out, instantly splitting that Licker in two as if cutting paper.
"No way!" Narok jolted at the sight.
A Licker, a Rank 2 zombie, had been cut cleanly in half by her with a single strike.
She hadn’t even looked at it.
If it were him, he could kill that Licker too, but it would take a fairly intense fight, though his win rate would still be high.
But Selina was on a different level.
Narok trembled. He was arrogant, but that didn’t mean he was stupid. At this moment, he knew he had grabbed a blazing piece of hot coal.
"Well? Still like me?" Selina asked with a smile.
Narok shuddered. Under her beast-like gaze, filled with madness and bloodlust, his legs went limp.
"N-no... no... I... I’m sorry, I didn’t know that..."
"Stand right there." Selina smiled. "Wait until I finish dealing with these zombies. Then I’ll play with you."
"If you dare run..."
Selina didn’t say more. She shot him a look that made him shiver. He truly didn’t dare run, because he was afraid.
He was afraid Selina would chase him, and then...
But what followed terrified him even more.
Selina slaughtered the mutated zombies like she was killing ordinary zombies, almost with no difficulty at all.
However, the two Zombie Hunters were different.
Selina swung her foil sword. Green blood, like some strange fluid, splattered along the blade and sprayed outward.
She frowned, staring at the two Zombie Hunters that still stood there, showing no intention of attacking.
But Selina could clearly feel the pressure those two zombies brought.
"A bit of pressure, but not too strong." Selina muttered.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
At that moment, the two Zombie Hunters moved, their bodies like arrows as they shot toward Selina.
She didn’t panic. One hand was clasped behind her back, the other holding the foil sword upright before her chest.
Narok had already collapsed onto the ground, so scared he couldn’t even move.
What the hell had he just seen? A new superhero movie?
Selina danced alone amid the mutated zombies. Her sword turned them into paper, the blade easily slicing them into small chunks.
Even Zombie Tankers, with skin as hard as steel, were easily pierced by that sword.
But Narok didn’t know Selina’s sword was the [Judicator Sword], with a 2% chance to instantly kill an enemy.
It didn’t limit the number of strikes. That meant every time Selina’s sword touched a monster, there was a chance it would instantly kill it.
Besides, the [Judicator Sword] was a [Perfect] weapon. Its power was terrifying. With sword light wrapping its edge, it could almost cut metal like slicing cake.
Narok felt deep regret. He should have realized that a woman that beautiful surviving until now couldn’t possibly be weak.
On the contrary, she had to be very strong.
Only with overwhelming strength could she be respected and keep her beauty untouched.
But imagining a woman that beautiful being touched by some man, even played with, made Narok’s heart ache.
Even though he was far from Selina, he still held the illusion that he could win her heart.
’Hopefully her Owner is a woman.’ Narok thought.
But when his eyes landed on Selina, seeing her like a blooming flower in a sea of blood, his heart trembled.
Too terrifying.
He even felt that woman was more terrifying than his own sister.
Narok could only see Selina as a black shadow, constantly flashing past the mutated zombies, unable to catch her movements clearly.
Selina had no time to pay attention to Narok.
Her gaze fixed on the two Zombie Hunters still standing still, and unease rose in her heart.
She didn’t dare underestimate them. Not only was she fighting, she was also keeping her focus on those two Zombie Hunters.
Suddenly... the two Zombie Hunters shot toward Selina like arrows.
Selina frowned and sprang backward, her body spinning in midair like a figure skater.
CLANG! KRIT!!!
Selina’s blade collided with the two bone blades of the Zombie Hunters. The blades scraped, producing a piercing metallic screech and a spray of sparks.
CLANG!
Selina flicked her wrist. The small blade, packed with terrifying force, shoved both Zombie Hunters back.
She steadied herself and landed on the ground.
Narok saw this and knew things were bad. Even though Selina could kill Lickers and Tankers, he could clearly see the Hunters were on a completely different level.
He hurriedly stood up and shouted, "Run! Hunters seem to be Wave 4. You can’t fight them."
Hearing that, Selina frowned, and then... she ran.
"Heh?!" Narok froze at the sight, his face full of disbelief.
He couldn’t believe that seconds ago Selina had been fighting like a war goddess, and seconds later she turned around and ran.
In truth, she wasn’t stupid. She wasn’t about to face those two Zombie Hunters when the odds of success were low.
To her, the most important thing was survival. Only if she stayed alive could she keep loving him, keep being his dog.
If she died, who would protect him? And she would no longer receive his love either.
Selina decisively turned and sprinted into the building. Narok jolted and immediately ran after her with all his strength.
....
Felix was still watching outside, but the tiny window didn’t let him see much.
That was why he didn’t see Selina’s battle outside the building.
Suddenly, he saw two black shadows rush into the building, then dash toward the staircase leading up, and joy surged in his heart.
"Hahaha... only thirty minutes and you can’t take it anymore?" Felix sneered.
"After all, this is a defense-focused round built around using defense towers. How could a human’s strength possibly stop those monsters?"
Felix watched the two pass his room and reach the corridor junction, then he stopped watching.
He turned back and said to the two girls and Alan, "Get to work. Remember, kill as many monsters as possible. If you can’t kill them, then soften them up, slow them down, and block their advance."
"I’ve put the necessary items into the shared backpack. Use them as you like."
Alan frowned and asked, "I... I have to work too?"
Felix frowned. "Alan, even if you’re my brother, you still have to work. If you don’t like working, then get out!"
"Huh! Why are you so fierce?" Alan swayed his hips. The sight made Felix grind his teeth, feeling like his eyes had just been polluted.
"If I’d known you didn’t care about me, I would’ve stayed with that bald guy back then."
Felix: "..."
