Infinite Game - Start With SSS Rank Class-Chapter 107: Can you see it?
After Rover finished speaking, he waved his hand, and the glass cabinet vanished. In the blink of an eye, the world returned to its normal state as before.
Everyone let out a breath of relief, but they knew full well... the storm was still there, so they hurriedly left, unwilling to stay here for even a second longer.
The supply crate was tempting, but their lives mattered more.
People started to disperse. Jonathan frowned toward Nanoe and Rover. After a moment, he also left with Nick.
Damon returned to his original form. In fury, he swung his leg and kicked at the head of the woman he had brought along.
BAM!
A single kick crushed her skull. She fell to the ground, her body twitching once before dying.
Amed walked past Rover’s group. There was still a trace of unease on his face, but the greed in his eyes was unmistakable.
He licked his lips, and with a slight twitch of his fingers, in a corner no one could see, a strand of hair drifted toward Selina, wrapped around her ankle, then vanished.
Amed looked at Leng Yan and smiled. "You found an interesting ally."
Leng Yan smiled. "If you get any closer to me, I’ll nail you to a wall as a specimen."
Hearing that, Amed’s face went pale. He glanced at Rover briefly, then turned and left.
In just a few minutes, everyone had left. Only Rover’s group remained here.
Leng Yan also began to move to leave. Rover frowned, but he didn’t stop her, because he seemed to sense that what she’d said earlier was true.
Rover didn’t care. He shook his head and said, "You two keep watch around. I’ll open the supply crate."
Selina and Nanoe nodded.
Even though everyone had left, they still didn’t know whether someone might be hiding nearby. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Rover opened the container door and immediately froze. It was huge, but the inside was almost empty.
The only thing inside the massive container was a small shelf. On the shelf, a gem floated in midair, giving off a faint light.
Rover frowned and stepped into the container. When he reached the gem, he sensed an enormous yet feeble energy.
It was like a light bulb, constantly flickering, as if signaling that it was a living being, not an ordinary gem.
The gem wasn’t large, only about the size of a thumb joint. It emitted a gentle white glow, flickering nonstop. Each time it lit up, Rover could see something inside it shaped like a tiny human body.
But he couldn’t make it out clearly. The silhouette was extremely faint, almost transparent.
He checked for information and found none, as if it were just an ordinary stone.
Rover let out a sigh, put the gem into his backpack, then decided to take the shelf as well, because it was very hard and looked valuable.
After taking everything, he looked at the container and had the thought that he wanted to take the container too. However, it was too large, so he gave up on that idea.
Rover brought Nanoe and Selina back to the room. On the way, he encountered many people, but they all kept their distance, looking at him with evasive eyes as if they were staring at a terrifying creature.
He didn’t care. People should fear him. That way, he could avoid a lot of unnecessary trouble.
From afar, Amed watched Rover’s group and said to the man beside him with a smile, "Ryu, bring me the puppet."
Ryu happily took out the puppet Amed had given him earlier and offered it up to Amed.
Of course he was happy. As long as he didn’t have to face that group again, he was at least safe.
Amed took the puppet and muttered in some unknown language, then tapped the puppet’s head with his index finger.
His eyes rolled back, his body trembling violently. The puppet began to tremble too. Even its limbs started to move, and the cloth head suddenly tore open, revealing a mouth full of teeth inside, along with a sound like a child crying.
Even though Amed’s eyes were rolled back, he still wore an eerie smile.
The puppet trembled violently, then turned into a handful of ash and slowly disappeared.
At this moment, Ryu shuddered, because he felt a cold wind had just brushed over his body. He asked in a low voice, "Master, did it work?"
Amed shook his head. His eyes returned to normal, and he smiled. "Not yet, but all we need to do is wait."
....
Rover and the others returned to the room.
The moment they stepped inside, Monica, who had been studying her new Class, immediately stood up.
She was wearing a maid outfit. The skirt only reached mid-thigh. Her waist was slim, while her chest was so large it looked like it was about to tear the dress apart and burst out.
Monica lowered her head and smiled. "Master, welcome back."
Rover felt what Monica was doing made him a little embarrassed, but he also felt strangely comfortable, so he didn’t stop her.
Having a big-chested maid at home made his room feel even more lively.
Monica suddenly sensed something. Her eyes shifted toward Selina.
Selina asked in confusion, "Hm?! What is it?"
"N-no... nothing." Monica hurriedly waved her hands.
Rover didn’t pay attention to Monica’s look, but Nanoe did. She immediately said, "Monica, if you feel something strange, say it. In this world, danger is everywhere. Even a small detail can reveal a hidden threat and help us survive."
Hearing that, Monica immediately startled. Everyone also agreed with Nanoe.
This world wasn’t Earth. They couldn’t think the way they did on Earth. Every thought or sign, no matter how tiny, could be what saved them from death or sudden danger.
Morie spoke up, "Sister Nanoe is right. Monica, if you feel anything strange, say it. We’ll analyze it."
Hearing that, Monica felt incredibly warm inside. She hadn’t expected everyone to trust her this much.
Rover also felt happy that everyone’s vigilance was so high.
Monica said softly, "I... I just received a new Class related to curses from Master. You all know that already, right?"
Everyone nodded. It wasn’t a secret. Monica had even shared the Class info in the secret group chat between the four of them. Of course, Rover wasn’t in that chat.
Monica continued, "I... I can sense... there seems to be cursed energy on Selina. But I’m not sure, because it’s very faint. It made me a bit... confused."
Hearing that, Nanoe immediately looked at Selina, and Amed’s image flashed in her mind.
Selina had the same thought as Nanoe, because Leng Yan had once said Amed’s ability was very mysterious.
Of course, there could be many other reasons, but their intuition was telling them that Amed was the one who had put something filthy on Selina.
Nanoe frowned and asked, "Can you see it?"
Monica shook her head. "No, but I can sense it."
She walked up to Selina and circled her once, pointing her finger from the top of Selina’s head down to her feet. She frowned. "Here, here... it makes me feel both uncomfortable and familiar."
Nanoe looked toward Selina’s feet. There was nothing strange there.
Selina rolled up her pant leg. When everyone saw her ankle, they all jolted.
"Agh!" Monica screamed and hurriedly stepped back.
Nanoe and Morie both frowned, staring at Selina’s ankle.
There was a bruise shaped like a handprint, as if a child were gripping her ankle tightly.
"Doesn’t it bother you?" Nanoe asked.
Selina shook her head, her face full of surprise and worry. "No. I don’t feel anything strange at all."
Rover walked over. With a slight motion of his finger, a mirror appeared and was placed in front of her leg.
"Agh!!!" Monica jolted and hurried behind Rover, not daring to look at what the mirror reflected.
Nanoe’s eyes turned cold, and Morie was also a little scared, but she was paralyzed and couldn’t rush to Rover’s side.
In the mirror was a horrifying image. A little girl around four or five years old, her body heavily decomposed. Her eye sockets had no eyeballs and were continuously bleeding. Her mouth was enormous, torn all the way to her ears. Inside were teeth like an octopus’s mouth, with countless maggots crawling chaotically within.
The little girl lay on the ground, both hands squeezing Selina’s ankle tightly, her mouth wide open, as if she were sucking in a stream of red smoke leaking from Selina’s body.
Everyone fell silent. The image was too visually shocking, and they hadn’t expected that even after returning to the room, this filthy thing could still cling to Selina.
Rover frowned. This thing couldn’t be seen with the naked eye, and it had even slipped past his [Intuition]. That made him uneasy.
What if the other side used something even more terrifying? If his [Intuition] couldn’t detect it and Monica couldn’t detect it either, then how would he deal with it?
He let out a sigh, wanting to use his [Mirror] superpower to destroy that filthy thing.
Suddenly, the female ghost he hadn’t paid attention to ever since they reached the [Garden] until they returned to this room appeared again, then moved closer to Selina.
Rover frowned, not understanding what she planned to do, but he quietly observed.
Everyone followed Rover’s gaze, feeling like he was staring at empty air, but they didn’t interrupt him. They waited in silence.
The female ghost saw the little girl, and her face, which had been cold and emotionless, suddenly spread into a crazed smile.
