Infinite Doubling: Conquering the Divine Realm from an Island-Chapter 39: Dorothy’s Rescue
"Reward?" George’s eyes lit up at once when he heard that.
He was not some great hero who never cared about payback. He had protected the city and the players from the demons, so getting a reward was only fair.
"Officer, can you give me a little time? I need to bring my teammates over first!" George said to Raila.
He had not forgotten that Sophia and Dorothy were still waiting for him.
Raila gave a small nod and said, "Alright. Come find me at the Peacekeeper Office later. I’ll use this time to restore order in the city."
George nodded and thanked her, then summoned his Holy Light Wings and headed toward the harbor.
When he reached the harbor, a sudden idea came to him. He made himself look covered in wounds, like he was dying.
Then he pretended to stagger as he flew toward the Dragon Bone ship.
On the Dragon Bone, Sophia and Dorothy were waiting anxiously for news of George.
Dorothy was the first to see George in the sky. But when she saw him covered in wounds, her joy turned at once into shock.
Sophia froze for a moment, then also noticed the injuries on George.
"George, what happened to you!" Dorothy caught him as he fell from the air, her voice already shaking with tears.
George coughed lightly and acted like he was on his last breath. "Something happened in the city. I was badly hurt!"
Hearing this, Dorothy burst into tears and choked out, "I told you not to go..."
Sophia’s state was a bit better. She could still stay calm.
She took a deep breath and said to George, "Just focus on healing. We’ll stay on the Dragon Bone for the next few days. If it doesn’t work, we can sail back to the Arctic!"
Hearing that, George gave a bitter smile and shook his head. "I’m afraid even healing might be a problem."
Sophia’s face went pale at his words. Her voice shook as she asked, "What kind of enemy was it? How hard to deal with?"
"A demon organ with an A-grade bloodline," George said honestly. On this point, he was not lying.
When Sophia heard this, her whole body trembled.
She had been in the Azure League for a long time and knew many things, so she understood how serious this was.
"No, it can still be cured!" Dorothy suddenly stepped forward and slowly lifted George into her arms.
Sophia glanced at Dorothy and instantly understood what she meant.
Over the past few days, the two of them had talked a lot, so she knew very well what Dorothy’s class could do.
When George heard Dorothy’s words, he was bursting with joy inside, but on the surface he obediently let her help him back to the room.
Dorothy first fetched a bucket of hot water and carried it inside.
Her cheeks were slightly red as she whispered, "George... can you undress by yourself?"
George replied in a dying tone, "I... don’t think I can."
"Alright." Dorothy seemed to steel herself, walked up to him, and began taking off his clothes.
The coat at the start was fine, but when she reached his inner clothes, her hands kept brushing against him, making the young girl’s face flush even redder.
At the final step, Dorothy felt something change below, but she could only pretend not to notice and quietly help him take off his underwear.
"Done." Dorothy let out a soft breath and motioned for George to get into the bath.
George walked to the tub, then suddenly smiled and said, "Let’s go in together."
"Huh?" Before Dorothy could react, George’s hand had already reached out and started to undress her.
Seeing how quick he moved, Dorothy suddenly realized she had been tricked.
Flustered and a little angry, she pouted. "George, you’ve been lying to me this whole time!"
"I really was hurt. But the moment I saw you, I got completely better," George said with a straight face as he looked at her.
"Hmph, liar." Dorothy turned her head away, but the smile on her lips exposed her true feelings.
Seeing that George was not badly hurt after all, Dorothy still felt truly happy inside.
In that brief moment of carelessness, Dorothy suddenly felt a chill across her chest.
She looked down and found that George had already taken off her clothes.
"You..." She glared at him, her face burning red.
"Get in. Once you’re in, no one can see anything," George said with a grin, pointing at the tub.
Like grabbing a lifeline, Dorothy jumped into the tub and hid her full figure completely under the water.
Right then she suddenly realized something was wrong—wasn’t George going to get in the tub too?
And just as she thought, George stepped straight into the tub.
Before Dorothy could react, George’s hands were already cupping her breasts, and his lips pressed firmly against hers.
Under his touch, Dorothy’s body suddenly went soft; she leaned against the side of the tub, letting George lead her.
After a moment, when George felt the time was right, he pushed forward through the water and took her.
Dorothy let out a soft moan and let him have his way with her in the tub.
Outside the door, still worried about George, Sophia quietly walked over. When she heard the soft cries from inside, her face turned red at once.
Thinking of the time she had shared with George before, ripples rose again in her heart.
...
An hour passed in a flash. Dorothy and George had washed up, gotten dressed, and walked out of the room.
"Liar." As soon as they stepped out the door, Dorothy whispered at George.
"Don’t tell Sophia," George leaned close to her ear and said softly.
"I... I know." Dorothy knew it wasn’t right to lie to Sophia, but faced with George’s request, she could only agree.
The two of them went to find Sophia. When Sophia saw that all of George’s wounds were gone, she finally let out a long breath.
George then told them in detail what had happened in the city when he fought the Eye of the Demon, leaving both girls shocked and on edge.
"You’re really stupid. Their lives have nothing to do with you," Sophia complained.
George only shook his head and didn’t explain.
Sophia’s vision was too narrow. She only thought about the short-term future and never about what came after.
If he wanted to become the strongest in the game, he could not rely only on force to scare players.
Having a group of players who respected him, or were loyal to him, was what truly mattered.
George glanced at the sky outside and said in a deep voice, "Let’s go. We’re heading to the Peacekeeper Office. Raila is probably already waiting for me."
Sophia and Dorothy both nodded, so George immediately steered the Dragon Bone toward the harbor.
As for Zack and his men, George ordered them to stay and guard the Dragon Bone.
The moment he stepped off the ship, George suddenly regretted coming down in such a public way.
From the instant someone spotted him, a player shouted, "George is here!"
The whole harbor exploded at once. Countless players rushed over, pushing and shouting, "Where’s George? Where’s George?"
Some smart ones were already trying to sell themselves to him.
"Lord George, look, let me be your man!"
"Move aside. Lord George, look at me, I’m a mage, I can heal you!"
"Lord George, please take me in, I’ll do anything!"
Listening to their half-crazy voices, Sophia muttered under her breath, "Is his charm really that strong?"
Dorothy, a bit uneasy, tugged on George’s sleeve and whispered, "You’re not going to abandon me, right?"
George shook his head with a smile, then spread his Holy Light Wings and lifted Sophia and Dorothy up into the sky with him.
Before leaving, he did not forget to calm the crowd. He cupped his hands toward them and called, "Sorry, everyone. I’m not planning to form a team for now!"
With that, he pushed his wings, and in the blink of an eye, they were already at the Peacekeeper Office.
As soon as George reached the air above the Peacekeeper Office, he felt a heavy force push against him, as if blocking anyone from flying over that place.
George wasn’t the type to force it, so he slowed down and landed.
A peacekeeper hurried over and said respectfully, "Lord George, Lord Raila invites you inside."
He hesitated for a moment, then glanced at Sophia and Dorothy and whispered, "Lord Raila said Lord George should go in alone."
Sophia and Dorothy didn’t insist. They found a place to rest and let George go in by himself.
When George pushed open the office door, the first thing he saw was a pair of long legs propped up high, wrapped in smooth black stockings.
"Lord Raila." George’s eyes flicked over her legs, then he bowed to greet her.
"Mm." Raila took her legs down from the desk, stood up, and smiled at him. "You finally came to claim your reward."
George gave an awkward smile and said politely, "As a peacekeeper, it’s my duty to protect the players. It’s not really about rewards."
"If you don’t want it, can you give it to me?" Raila suddenly put on a pitiful look, her voice sounding a little pleading.
"Huh?" George froze. He hadn’t expected Raila to talk so out of line.
She was at least a deputy director of a regional Peacekeeper Office, yet her personality was like a kid’s.
"Just kidding." Raila waved her hand, then let out a small sigh. "I’m actually jealous of you. Even I envy the reward you’re getting."
"What is it?" George couldn’t help feeling excited.
Raila let out a soft laugh, picked up a brocade box from the desk, and opened it to reveal a golden, shining medal inside.
