Unlike the first time, it took a bit longer. Most of the participants were forced about the soul contract, unlike the Lionheart Clan, which was very open about it from the very beginning.

However, their resistance was foolish before an absolute power. This was a contract ultimately derived from the power of the book. And with Kamille also helping in the background to put pressure on their rationality, it was not long before each of them gradually succumbed to it.

Some had higher will than the others, but it was not an issue at all. It only took half an hour for everyone to be completely subdued.

Whether they liked it or not in their hearts, their very being, down to their very soul, was owned by Rise.

Rise was their master, and they needed to obey each of his orders. No matter how small or ridiculous they were. There was only one voice they needed to prioritize from now on.

When Rise’s consciousness returned, the sight of the chaotic crowd greeted him. Most of them were slumped on the ground or in their seats, as though their souls had left them.

In a way, there was a truth in them. Parts of their souls were marked by the contract.

Rise smiled at the sight. He watched them with interest and waited until they almost recovered. Their eyes collectively landed on Rise.

The devious grin on Rise widened; his silver hair seemed to stand out before the darkness. His eyes sparkled with mischief.

This was it. The one he had been waiting for.

His twisted expression, which was even closer to a demon and far more terrifying than a noble’s presence to everyone present, looked down at them.

They finally realized when Rise asked them casually the question, wanting to hear their submission. It was laughable. From the start, their fates were already sealed.

This man, the incarnation of a demon, was their master.

Suddenly, Rise occupied everyone’s attention so that they barely noticed Kamille. The one they thought Rise relied on.

They were not wrong, though; more than the book’s contract, Rise relied more on Kamille.

Kamille was finally relieved, and his gaze never left Rise. This was the stage Rise should be on.

Rise in his usual element was always the most attractive part of him. Kamille lowered his presence even further.

"Now, let’s start our next agenda, shall we?"

Again, Rise never cared about their opinion. The novelty of being a villain boss always wore off quickly as soon as they appeared, so Rise was softer when he talked to them afterwards.

After all, even if they were fully under a contract, they still had their own thoughts. To fully utilize them and their forces, which was the reason Rise did this shortcut, he had to give them a carrot after a stick once in a while.

It was the same with the Lionheart clan; Rise wanted efficient subordinates. Not loyal and devoted, but productive subordinates. People who would execute his orders successfully.

The rest of the meeting went by in a conflicted manner. Rise was more eloquent than he appeared; he spoke in a decisive manner that no one dared to question.

The decision to take over this world was impulsive, almost like a whim. However, once it was decided, Rise would push it until the end. Failure was not an option, as one mistake could lead to other spiraling.

He would not be too overconfident this time because of the incident last time. Rise became aware of how impossible this task was.

Yet, he would never give up. Fates should be in their hands. The future should be within their reach and not be subjected to an endless loop.

Everyone was soon dismissed. Their expressions were complicated and, more so, overwhelmed. The information Rise gave them was truly unbelievable.

Suddenly, they were subordinates of an outsider against their will, and the next order was to take over this world?

This was... not a dream, right?

However, when they saw Zarilan and his clan elders and Halwyn with her entourage, they immediately knew that it was not.

This was a deliberate trap. The culprit was this old fox. If Zarilan heard their thoughts, he would be so pissed. It was not because of their accusations, which were true. But because they called him an ’old fox,’ an old lion was more acceptable.

Before they left the hall, Zarilan and the others were blocked at the entrance. The man leading them was the white-bearded man who now successfully reattached his arm, but visible wounds could still be seen.

At his side was the villain Rise spoke of, the Clan Leader of Golden Crow, Sania.

"How bold. You dared to trick us?" Sania narrowed his eyes; for him to start the confrontation only showed how pissed he was. Usually,

He was only standing superiorly at the crowd, as though not wanting to associate with peasants.

Although Rise had them on a leash, that did not mean they could not bark at each other. Rise and Kamille had long left the hall, and so they could not be held back any longer.

Killing each other might be forbidden, but beating them up was also an option!

Zarilan remained composed. He expected that they would confront him and so was not surprised. His golden pupils swept by them. In terms of status, their clan was higher in the pyramid.

Some could not stand it and averted their gaze, while the three in front met his gaze bravely. They were all royal clans, if one talked about history.

"Care to explain to us why you betrayed us, Lord Zarilan?" The white-bearded clan leader spoke this time, much calmer than Sania.

Out of everyone present, Sania was the youngest clan leader. While he was the oldest.

Even Zarilan could not just ignore or overlook him. Despite being way past his prime, no one should underestimate him. Or you will never know when your back might be stabbed.

"Lord Nagaru," Zarilan called. He then sighed. "I... am guilty. But, I don’t regret it. This is our only hope. As you can see," a bitter smile appeared on his lips.

"Our world was slowly decaying, sooner or later... This world will end with our generation. Even if it’s only a tiny bit of hope, I’m willing to cling to it."

He did not care if Rise was a demon incarnate; he was their master and willing to bow his head and thump his head to the floor forever.

Heck, he could even sacrifice his life for him if Rise managed to save them. This much was nothing.
