In Love With My Fierce Farming Wife!-Chapter 454 - 453: Trouble Again!_1
It was surprising that dad hadnโt mentioned anything about the Liu family, Su Panโer thought.
But reflecting on it, this was very much like his usual demeanor. ๐ป๐๐๐ฆ๐ธ๐๐ท๐โด๐ฃ๐ฆ๐.๐ธโด๐ฎ
She quietly stood up, went to the desk and opened a drawer, taking out the letter she had received today.
Then by the window, she read the letter again.
A smile spread across her face.
Since she started receiving letters from Qin Yi the next day, she began taking walks every morning.
During her walks, she plucked a bunch of wild chrysanthemums she returned home with, arranged them in a narrow-mouthed bottle and placed it on the wide window sill. Not only did it look nice, but it also filled the entire house with a refreshing fragrance.
Sometimes, she brought back honeysuckle flowers as well.
On the second day, when she brought new wild chrysanthemums home, she replaced the ones from the first day - dried and stored for future use. She then had a little rest, read the letters from Qin Yi, and wrote him back one.
As this became a routine, the errand-running government employee had got accustomed to leaving with a letter whenever he delivered one.
In just over ten days, she had gathered a large bag of wild chrysanthemums and accumulated a stack of letters in the treasure box she had made.
This was the fifth letter from Qin Yi!
Ever since she first received a letter from Qin Yi, she had been getting a new letter every two days almost without fail.
Every received letter filled her with anticipation and sweetness.
This letter was about him receiving the sunflower seeds she had sent.
These were the seeds they had harvested together from the sunflowers they had planted in the Qin Familyโs courtyard.
Unfortunately, after being trampled by villagers during the plague, and subsequently damaged when the Eighth Master burnt down the house, only two of the sunflowers survived in the corner.
A few days ago, the sunflowers in the ground were fully ripe. She harvested them, carefully dried and packed them and sent a fabric pouch of seeds to Qin Yi with her letter.
Qin Yi wrote in the letter about the events of the recent days, his longing for her, and the joy he felt when he got the sunflower seeds.
He even mentioned that he tasted a few and found them exceptionally delicious.
"Panโer, eat these sunflower seeds slowly. When you finish them, I will return," he wrote.
At the end of the letter, there was a line written in small print.
"When beauty is seen, the heart cannot forget. Not seeing you for some days, I think about you like crazy."
Unable to resist a smile, Su Panโer gently touched the flamboyant handwriting on the letter. Each of Qin Yiโs letters was filled with unabashed love and deep longing!
She walked back to the desk
She dipped her brush in ink and couldnโt help but write down her thoughts: "The road is long and torturous, the soul flies in bitterness. The longing is so deep, it causes heartache."
She turned her head to look at the wild chrysanthemums swaying in the night breeze on the windowsill.
The autumn season was very refreshing, but the autumn tiger was particularly fierce, apparently even hotter than summer.
Unconsciously, she took out two sunflower seeds from her bosom, took a silent bite of two, then quickly kept the rest.
There werenโt many sunflower seeds, each one eaten was one less. She couldnโt bear it!
She also didnโt know when they would be able to meet again?
In the following two days, she received another letter from Qin Yi. Just when she was immersed in the joy of receiving the letter, Ye Han arrived.
Ye Han was as cold and firm as ever.
As he entered, he got straight to the point: "Yesterday, there was an incident with the Seventh and Eighth Masters in the prison!"
"An incident?"
Su Panโer was startled and quickly stood up: "Were they poisoned again?"
"Not poisoned, perhaps..."
Speaking vaguely, Ye Han continued: "After Su Sikong died of poisoning in the black prison, the Great General ordered heightened security for the prison. But this morning, a prison guard reported that the Seventh and Eighth masters had disappeared. When the Great General went to check, there were only two pools of blood left in the cell, and they had mysteriously disappeared."
Su Panโer briefly locked eyes with Ye Han before sitting down again.
In the past, when Ye Han used the "Corpse-Decomposing Powder" to dissolve the bodies of the soldiers she had killed, only a puddle of blood was left behind. She had witnessed this with her own eyes.
Could the current situation possibly be the result of...
"Do you think that Seventh Master and Eighth Master could have been..."
"Itโs hard to say. Even I, the Great General, do not know who is responsible."
Ye Hanโs eyebrows furrowed tightly.
What infuriated him the most was that these people managed to break through his multiple layers of defense, kill Seventh Master and Eighth Master right under his nose.
This was the real reason for his anger!
Su Panโer pondered for a moment, "What does the Great General plan to do next?"
Given the current situation, what else could he do?
He had initially planned to use Seventh Master and Eighth Master. Now that this lead had been cut off, this avenue seemed to be completely blocked.
"I was planning to return to the capital in a few days, it now seems that this matter cannot be delayed any longer."
Ye Han said with a serious expression.
"If thatโs the case, then you should return to the capital as soon as possible, after all, official matters are important!"
Su Panโer nodded in agreement.
One case, three witnesses had successively died in mysterious circumstances!
It seemed like the initial attempt on Eighth Princeโs life would be very difficult to resolve!
Ye Han nodded, contemplated for a moment, then brought up another matter, "I was able to survive till today thanks to your help on many occasions. If you donโt mind, could we make a pact of alliance? From now on, we will be as siblings. Should you encounter any difficulties, I will unquestionably help. What do you think?"
"To make a pact of alliance?"
The corner of Su Panโerโs mouth couldnโt help but twitch at this.
She had often heard of such alliances in the past, but now that it had landed on her own doorstep, especially proposed by Ye Han, who was as stubborn as a knot in an elm tree, and with a face full of deep resentment, it made Su Panโer feel like laughing!
"Indeed! What are your thoughts?"
Ye Han, however, was still earnest while nodding. His earlobe turned a little red.
This caused Su Panโer to laugh!
"Alright! We will swear a blood oath, letโs form an alliance!"
Saying so, she had Mrs. Su-Hua catch a chicken, set up an altar, and both of them paid homage to heaven and earth before drinking the blood-swearing wine.
They went through the alliance ceremony in a surprisingly solemn and clichรฉ manner.
"Younger Sister Panโer!"
"Brother Ye."
The two of them came up with new names to address each other before sitting down again.
After all the hassle, Su Panโer started to feel a little tired.
However, what Ye Han said next sent Su Panโerโs sleepiness flying far away.
"Sister Panโer, I heard that you are Lord Liuโs daughter who was lost outside. Is this true?"
"Why did Brother Ye bring this up?"
A hint of wariness emerged in Su Panโerโs eyes.
"Last night, Lord Liu came to me and wanted me to mediate. I refused."
A rare smile flickered on the corner of Ye Hanโs mouth, "However, the reason why I mention it today is because Lord Liuโs wife and the mother of Eighth Prince, Imperial Consort Hua, are close blood relations. If you truly are Lord Liuโs daughter, then you and Eighth Prince would be cousins."
