Chapter 1462: Chapter 718: Preparing the Sealing Ceremony!_2
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang fought side by side, their agile movement techniques allowing them to evade the Earth Stone Monster’s attacks while counterattacking with their swords and energy.
The battle was exceptionally grueling, for the Earth Stone Monster’s power seemed endless, with each strike making the ground quake.
Just as they were about to be overwhelmed by the monster, Luo Chen suddenly recalled a line from the scroll: "Earth Element, in unity with the earth, must be answered by the Power of Earth."
He quickly adjusted his tactics, plunging his sword into the ground to start channeling the surrounding Power of Earth.
Qing Shuang sensed Luo Chen’s intention and focused her spirit, merging her energy with the Power of Earth.
Suddenly, a formidable energy erupted from Luo Chen and Qing Shuang, and they directed this power into the Earth Stone Monster.
The monster’s body began to tremble, then gradually disintegrated, ultimately turning into a heap of ordinary soil.
Exhausted, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang collapsed to the ground, but they had succeeded.
From the earth rose the power of the Earth Element, transforming into a stone emitting a warm glow.
"We did it," Luo Chen said, gasping for breath.
Qing Shuang nodded with a smile, knowing they had moved one step closer to sealing the evil forces.
After earth comes fire.
After a brief rest, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang stood up again, knowing their next task was to find the Fire Element.
The Fire Element is often associated with volcanoes, lava, or flames, so they decided to head to the place most likely to harbor it: a volcano called "Red Flame Peak."
Red Flame Peak was southeast of Youlan Lake, said to be shrouded in flames year-round and where the Fire Element was most active.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang packed their belongings and set off on the journey to Red Flame Peak.
They traveled through dense forests and across rugged mountains until they finally reached the foot of Red Flame Peak.
The peak towered skyward, engulfed below the midsection in dense clouds, while flames perpetually erupted from the summit, lighting up half the sky.
"We must be careful, the environment of Red Flame Peak is extremely harsh, and the power of the Fire Element is extraordinarily strong," Luo Chen cautioned.
Qing Shuang nodded, aware of the mission’s dangers, but her eyes were filled with determination. "We’ve succeeded twice before, this time won’t be any different."
They began their climb up Red Flame Peak, and as they ascended, the temperature rose, and the air became increasingly thin.
Fire and lava erupted around them, as if the entire world was ablaze.
Finally, they reached the edge of a massive crater.
Inside the crater, flames shot skyward, lava churned, and waves of heat assailed them.
Standing there, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang could barely breathe.
"The Fire Element should be at the center of the crater," Luo Chen shouted, trying to make his voice heard over the roaring noise around them.
They began to search along the crater’s edge for a way down.
After a difficult search, they discovered a natural staircase formed by lava leading to the bottom of the crater.
Cautiously, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang descended the lava steps, each step taken with utmost care, for a single slip could plunge them into the seething lava.
Finally, they arrived at the crater’s bottom. Here lay a vast Molten Lava Lake, its surface continually bursting with bubbles, creating thunderous sounds. At the lake’s center was a small stone platform with a red gemstone radiating intense heat—the Fire Element.
"We must get it," Luo Chen said determinedly.
Qing Shuang nodded, aware this would be a direct confrontation with the flames.
They began to harness their inner power, attempting to create a path across the Molten Lava Lake to the stone platform.
Their power collided with the lava’s force, producing dazzling light.
Step by step, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang moved forward, their heartbeats synchronized with the lava lake’s pulsations.
At last, they reached the platform.
Luo Chen reached out, cautiously picking up the Fire Element.
The heat from the Fire Element nearly scorched his hand, but he gritted his teeth and endured.
"We did it!" Qing Shuang exclaimed excitedly.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang returned to the crater’s edge with the Fire Element, knowing that by combining these elements—water, earth, fire, spirit, and wind—they could fulfill the task of sealing the evil forces.
Having now gathered spirit, water, earth, and fire, they were only missing the final Wind Element.
Yet it was this final Wind Element that left Luo Chen feeling even more confused.
And uncertain of how to proceed with the search.
"Qing Shuang, where do you think we might find this Wind Element?"
Qing Shuang pondered for a moment, then spoke slowly: "The Wind Element is everywhere, yet elusive. It could hide in any place, from the fury of a storm to the gentle caress of a breeze. But if we want to find a strong source of the Wind Element, we should go to places where the winds are strongest."
Luo Chen nodded in agreement, "Yes, we need to go to places with strong winds, but there are so many, where should we start?"
Qing Shuang closed her eyes, as if sensing the whisper of the wind, "I can feel it, a strong aura of the Wind Element is calling to us. It seems to come from a distant place to the north, known as ’Wind Talker Canyon.’
"Wind Talker Canyon?" Luo Chen repeated the name, a wave of inexplicable excitement welling up in him.
"Yes, it’s a sacred place of the wind, a legendary source of the Wind Element’s essence. It’s said that fierce winds blow there year-round, and even wind spirits reside within," Qing Shuang explained.
They did not hesitate and immediately set out for Wind Talker Canyon.
After several days of arduous travel, they finally reached the canyon’s entrance.
Towering peaks flanked the canyon on either side, with a narrow passageway between, where the wind howled as if echoing countless voices telling ancient tales.
Against the fierce wind, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang ventured deeper into the canyon.
The wind’s power here grew extraordinarily strong, capable even of moving boulders. They had to muster all their strength to remain steady.
"Be careful, the wind here is strong enough to blow people away!" Luo Chen shouted, his voice almost swallowed by the wind.
Qing Shuang nodded, focusing her energy around herself to form a protective shield against the onslaught of the wind.
They continued onward until they reached the center of the canyon.
A massive stele stood there, ancient runes carved onto it, seemingly pointing towards the direction of the wind.
Atop the stele, a translucent gemstone emitted a gentle glow—that was the Wind Element.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang exchanged glances, knowing this was the Wind Element they sought.
"We must be careful, the wind here is too strong to simply take that gemstone," Luo Chen reminded.
Qing Shuang nodded and began concentrating her spirit, attempting to communicate with the Wind Element.
She knew that only by gaining the Wind Element’s approval could they successfully obtain it.
Luo Chen stood by vigilantly watching their surroundings for any sudden developments.
Suddenly, the wind’s sound became even more piercing, as if countless voices were whispering in their ears.
Dim light began to appear around Qing Shuang’s body, a sign of the Wind Element’s response.
"Luo Chen, look!" Qing Shuang exclaimed with joy.
Luo Chen turned to see a small whirlwind forming around Qing Shuang, and the Wind Element gemstone slowly drifting towards her.
Finally, the gemstone fell into Qing Shuang’s hand.
The Wind Element’s power merged with her, and she felt an unprecedented lightness and freedom.
Luo Chen stepped forward, looking at the Wind Element in Qing Shuang’s hand, his heart filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment.
"We did it, Qing Shuang, now we have all the elements," Luo Chen said excitedly.
Qing Shuang nodded with a smile, knowing that they could now begin the Sealing Ceremony to contain the evil forces.
They returned to their secret base to prepare for the Sealing Ceremony.
