Chapter 320: Comprehending Dao Paths With Insane Speed

There, Arthur found what he was looking for.

A vast chamber that seemed to extend infinitely in all directions. The walls, floor, and ceiling were made of pure white light. And floating throughout the space were countless orbs of different colors.

999,999 orbs.

Each one contained the complete memories and comprehension of a soul clone. Their lifetimes. Their experiences. Their techniques. Their mastery of a specific Dao.

"There you are," Arthur said softly.

Until now, these orbs had been sealed. Inaccessible. But with the Supreme Sovereign Soul Scripture active, he could finally reach them.

Arthur activated the technique’s organizational function.

The orbs began to move. They organized themselves according to the mental library structure Arthur had created. Categories formed automatically. Fire-related Daos grouped together. Water-related Daos. Metal. Wood. Earth. Wind. Lightning.

Weapon Daos separated into their own section. Sword, spear, blade, bow, staff, axe. Each weapon type had multiple orbs representing different levels of mastery.

Crafting Daos formed another major category. Alchemy, formation, refinement, inscription, construction.

Esoteric Daos gathered in a separate space. Space, time, fate, karma, life, death, chaos, order. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

The organization completed in moments. What had been a chaotic sea of memory orbs was now a perfectly ordered library. Arthur could navigate it with ease, finding any specific comprehension he needed in an instant.

"Perfect," Arthur said. "Now I can access the comprehension without drowning in unnecessary memories."

But he still needed to actually comprehend the Daos. The technique gave him access to the knowledge, but he had to integrate it into his own understanding. Make it truly his.

Arthur decided to start with something relatively simple. A basic foundation that would support more complex Daos later.

He navigated his mental library to the Fire section and selected the first orb.

Fire Dao, Basic Comprehension. Intent Level.

Arthur reached out with his will and touched the orb.

Click.

The orb opened. Information began flowing toward him.

Immediately, the filtration arrays activated. Arthur felt the technique sorting through the incoming data. Personal memories dissolved. Emotions were stripped away. Unnecessary context vanished.

What remained was pure comprehension.

Arthur saw fire in a way he’d never seen before. Not just as flames or heat, but as a fundamental principle. The concept of transformation. The idea of consumption. The process of releasing stored energy.

The comprehension integrated into his mind smoothly. Arthur felt his understanding of fire deepen instantly. He’d already comprehended fire to the peak of the Concept level. But this was the next step.

Intent level. The first true stage of Dao mastery.

At the Intent level, fire became more than just a tool. It became an extension of Arthur’s will. He could impose his intent upon fire, making it burn hotter or cooler, faster or slower, according to his desire.

Arthur opened his eyes and tested his new comprehension.

He raised his hand. A small flame appeared above his palm, but it was different from before. This flame responded to his thoughts instantly. He willed it to burn cold, and the flame turned blue, radiating a chill instead of heat. He willed it to burn only spiritual energy, and the flame shifted, becoming translucent and ethereal.

"Intent level mastery," Arthur confirmed with satisfaction.

He has already comprehended this level, but he was gaining new understanding as everyone’s understanding is different.

But this was just the beginning. The Intent level was merely the first step on the path of true Dao comprehension.

Arthur knew the full progression now. His restored memories had revealed the complete ladder of mastery.

Intent. The first step, where will begins to influence the Dao.

Concept. Where understanding deepens and one can manipulate fundamental principles.

Essence. Where one touches the core nature of the Dao itself.

Domain. Where one can create a space where the Dao’s laws override normal reality.

False Law. The beginning of Law comprehension, imperfect but powerful.

True Law. Where one truly understands and can wield the Dao as an absolute principle.

True Law Intent. Combining Law mastery with Intent, creating overwhelming power.

True Law Concept. Law mastery at the conceptual level.

True Law Essence. Touching the absolute essence of a Dao at the Law level.

True Law Domain. Creating a domain where one’s Law is absolute and cannot be defied.

And beyond even that, there were higher levels. But those required cultivation realms Arthur couldn’t even imagine yet.

For now, the peak of what was possible in the mortal realms was Domain level comprehension. Most cultivators only reached that level after breaking through to the immortal realms. Some never reached it at all.

Arthur’s current fire comprehension was at the Concept level, almost touching Essence. With the soul clone’s memories, he could potentially reach Domain level given enough time and effort.

But some levels required more than just knowledge. They required actual immortal cultivation to support the comprehension. His mortal realm cultivation base couldn’t handle certain depths of Dao mastery.

"I’ll need to be strategic about this," Arthur decided. "I’ll focus on Daos I can actually comprehend at my current cultivation level. Save the deeper comprehensions for after I ascend."

He returned to his mental library and began selecting orbs systematically.

Fire Dao. He opened multiple orbs in sequence. Basic comprehension. Intermediate comprehension. Advanced comprehension.

Each orb added layers to his understanding. His fire comprehension climbed steadily. Intent level solidified. Concept level deepened. He began touching the edge of Essence level.

But when he tried to fully grasp Essence level, Arthur hit a wall. His cultivation base couldn’t support that depth of comprehension. The knowledge was there in the memory orbs, but his cultivation wasn’t developed enough to truly integrate it.

"As expected," Arthur said without frustration. "I’ll need to reach the Martial Emperor Realm, before I can touch Essence level and beyond."

Essenes was something most Martial Saint will attempt to comprehend but he had a chance to do so while in the Martial Emperor Realm.

He moved to the next element. Water Dao.

Arthur opened the relevant orbs and began comprehending. The process was faster this time. The Supreme Sovereign Soul Scripture had learned his comprehension style from the fire attempts and adjusted accordingly.

Water Intent. Water Concept. The edge of Water Essence.

Then Earth. Wind. Lightning. Wood. Metal.

Arthur worked through all the basic elemental Daos, raising each one to the peak of what his current cultivation could support. Mostly high Concept level, touching but not fully entering Essence.

Days passed in the time chamber. Arthur was completely absorbed in the process.

Next came the Weapon Daos. Arthur navigated to the Sword section.

His sword comprehension was already quite advanced from his time in the Heavenly Sword Sect and his possession of the Heavenly Dao Sword Astral Soul. But the soul clone memories could take him further.

Arthur opened orb after orb. Sword Intent memories. Sword Concept memories. Sword Essence memories.

His understanding exploded upward. The sword was no longer just a weapon to him. It became an extension of his will, a tool for cutting through not just physical matter but concepts and principles themselves.

His sword comprehension climbed to peak Concept level, touching the edge of Essence just like with the elements.

Arthur continued with other weapons. Spear. Blade. Bow. Staff. Axe. Halberd.

Each weapon Dao rose to high Concept level. Arthur didn’t just learn techniques. He understood the fundamental nature of each weapon. The spear’s principle of piercing and extension. The blade’s principle of severing and division. The bow’s principle of distance and precision.

More time passed. Weeks. Months.

Arthur moved to the Crafting Daos. Alchemy was particularly important since he’d been learning from Cora.

He also found something interesting...

"So the God of Alchemy, Asmir was actually just a disciple of one of my clones?"
