I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 29: Return of Eric
Chapter 29: Return of Eric
Wow. Everyone in the hall just stared. They couldn’t believe what Adam had just done. He’d taken a bomb – something meant to kill everyone – and made it safe just by touching it. It seemed impossible.
All eyes were glued on Adam, wide with surprise and wonder. Nobody said a word. You could almost feel the shock hanging in the air.
But Adam didn’t seem to notice how stunned everyone was. He wasn’t looking at their surprised faces, hearing the little gasps some people made. He was still focused on the assassin. He had the name he needed. Now, he had to deal with the guy who gave it to him.
Adam started walking towards the assassin.
Seeing Adam coming closer, the assassin froze up. This was the same person who had just magically healed him from almost dying. He had seen Adam’s incredible power. And now, the assassin’s last, desperate plan – the bomb – had failed completely because of Adam.
Adam was coming for him.
A cold fear washed over the assassin again, even stronger this time. It was the kind of fear you feel when you know you’re completely helpless against someone incredibly powerful.
"Oh no," he probably thought. "Not again. What’s he going to do to me now?" He wished he could just disappear.
As Adam walked, he glanced down at the strange object still in his hand. In his mind, he spoke to the system window only he could see. ’System, scan this thing.’
Right away, the Window popped up just for Adam. Words started filling it up, explaining the object – its name, how it worked. It quickly gave Adam the information he wanted.
Adam read the system’s report and understood. He looked at the object in his hand. A moment ago, it held enough power to destroy everything, like a tiny, exploding star. Now, with its power gone, it was just an empty metal shell.
Adam closed his hand around the object. He squeezed.
Crunch!
It made a sound like stepping on dry leaves. The object broke into tiny pieces in his hand. Adam had totally destroyed the weapon.
Seeing Adam walk towards him, seeing the weapon crushed, the assassin knew he had no chances left. He was healed, yeah, but totally trapped. Panic flooded him. He thought maybe, just maybe, he could run. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
He spun around fast, trying to dash away, to somehow escape Adam.
But just as the assassin turned to run, someone zipped in front of him. It was Revan, Adam’s older brother, who had been standing nearby with their parents and the Second Prince.
Revan looked serious. He held his sword, but he didn’t use the sharp edge. Instead, with a quick, strong move, Revan smacked the assassin right in the face with the flat side of the sword blade.
Whack!
The sound echoed in the hall. It wasn’t a cut, but a hard hit. The assassin stumbled backward, his head spinning. His legs buckled, and he crashed onto the stone floor. He wasn’t going anywhere.
Before the dizzy assassin could even think, the royal guards rushed forward. They surrounded him instantly, slapping chains on his wrists to make sure he couldn’t cause any more trouble. They held him down tight.
Adam stood a few feet away, watching calmly as the guards captured the assassin. He didn’t move or say anything. The danger was over.
Now that things were safer, the King took control again. His voice was a little shaky from everything that had happened.
"Charles!" the King ordered, looking at his trusted Commander. "Get all the council members! Tell them to come here, right now!" The King needed to deal with the terrible news about Sir Karlos right away.
Charles, who had been watching everything with wide eyes, snapped to attention. He bowed low. "Yes, Your Majesty!" he said clearly. He turned and hurried out of the hall. Several guards went with him to help spread the urgent message. The big room started to feel a little less crowded.
While Charles was gone, the system screen appeared again in front of Adam. This time, the message was for him.
"Master," the words glowed, "your time is up. Once the seal is activated, it will take you back."
Adam knew exactly what that meant. The ’seal’ was the special barrier.
He had done what he came to do: saved Eric, stopped the assassins, and found out who was behind it all. His job in Eric’s body was done. It was time to go back.
’You’re right,’ Adam thought silently.
He closed his eyes. In his mind, he pictured himself leaving Eric’s body. He focused on returning to his own quiet place.
The moment Adam focused, a weird feeling filled Eric’s body, like something invisible was lifting away.
Adam was gone.
Suddenly, Eric’s own mind snapped back into his body.
His eyes flew open. Where...? He felt dizzy and super confused. His heart pounded like crazy. Fear shot through him. He gasped, breathing fast, trying to figure out where he was.
His hands shot up, patting his body. Was he hurt? He touched his neck, remembering... something awful happening there. But his skin was smooth. His throat felt fine.
No pain. He ran his hands over his chest, expecting to feel wounds. Nothing. He wasn’t hurt at all. His clothes were messy, but his body was okay.
This makes no sense, he thought. I remember... I almost died.
His legs felt like jelly from the shock and fear. He couldn’t stay standing. He stumbled back and plopped onto the floor.
When everyone – the King, the Queen, his brothers, the guards – saw Eric suddenly gasp, grab his neck, and then fall down looking terrified, they forgot all about being amazed by Adam’s power. Now, they were just worried. Something was wrong with Eric!
They rushed to his side. The King and Queen got there first, kneeling beside him, their faces full of worry for their son. Eric’s brothers leaned over him too, looking scared for him. Even the guards moved closer, ready to help.
The King put his hands gently on Eric’s shoulders. "What’s wrong, Eric?" he asked softly, looking into his son’s confused eyes.
Eric looked up at his father’s worried face. Eric felt pale and shaky. His mind was a jumble. ’What’s happening? Where am I? I was just in my room...’ He touched his chest again, then his neck.
He was so sure he should be hurt. But there was nothing. Not feeling hurt when he felt like he should be made him even more confused and scared. ’But... how...?’
Just then, System Window popped up again, right in front of Eric’s eyes. Only he could see it. It seemed to know he was confused.
Words appeared: "Eric, I saved you from death and stopped the assassin."
Eric stared at the screen, totally surprised. You saved me? And stopped the assassin? His eyes went wide. He opened his mouth to ask the screen what was going on.
But before he could say anything, he really noticed where he was. He saw his worried mother and brothers close by. He saw all the guards. He felt his father’s hands on his shoulders.
Eric looked away from the screen and straight at his father. The King was holding him, his face full of concern.
"Eric, what’s happening?" the King asked again, his voice a little louder this time, trying to understand what was wrong with his son.
