I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon-Chapter 1375: Weaving the Nest
Chapter 1375 - Weaving the Nest
The newly emerged Pokémon was the evolved form of Skrelp, called Dragalge, a Poison and Dragon-type Pokémon.
The Dragalge was indeed a rough-tempered Pokémon, and it was not unusual for them to attack ships passing through their territory. However, the situation right now seemed to be a bit exaggerated. This group of Skrelp and Dragalge must have emerged in full force!
No Pokémon would do something this crazy without some deep grudge, like disturbing the graves of their ancestors.
With the appearance of Dragalge, Yuga realized that the entire ghost ship was completely surrounded. The ship was encircled by a dense swarm of Skrelp, with some Dragalge mixed in.
The Dragalge emitted horrible, high-pitched screeches, while Skrelp either climbed up the ship's side or spat venomous liquid as they attacked. The ghost ship rocked violently.
All the ghost-type Pokémon aboard the ship had been mobilized, but their numbers were not enough to match the overwhelming swarm of Skrelp. Although there was a Shadow Ball directing them, the ghost-type Pokémon still couldn't handle the situation.
Yuga had no intention of wiping out Skrelp entirely. He only wanted to drive them away. Though the overall strength of the ghost-type Pokémon was superior to tSkrelp, they were still somewhat restrained when forced to engage in direct combat.
Poisonous liquid was sprayed in waves toward the ship, but Florges and the ghost-type Pokémon managed to repel it back. Yuga, seeing how relentless Skrelp and Dragalge were, realized that this couldn't continue. He called out to Florges.
Florges, understanding the signal with a mere glance, nodded. She and Yuga were almost telepathically linked, and she could grasp his intentions with just a look.
Then, what Yuga, Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor witnessed was something they would never forget in their lifetime.
"Florges~"
Florges stepped forward, spreading her arms. A green energy circle expanded from her as the center. The blue sea water, illuminated by the sunlight, reflected and refracted beautiful rays of light through the energy circle.
After that, the surface of the sea began to gently tremble.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!!!
Seaweed began to rise out of the water, growing longer and longer. It started to gather in one direction, and countless strands of seaweed slowly formed a huge, brown "trunk."
As the seaweed gathered, the trunk quickly grew upwards. In no time, branches and a canopy sprouted from the bare trunk, and it became a towering tree.
The giant tree blocked the sun, casting a shadow over the ghost ship and the nearby sea. From the brown canopy, long, vine-like strands hung down, which were wide kelp stalks.
Skrelp and Dragalge lived in places often covered in seaweed, so it was effortless for Florges to perform this move using the seaweed.
This sudden appearance startled Skrelp and Dragalge, and they instinctively halted their attacks.
The seaweed hanging from the tree shook as though they were venomous sea serpents, which was somewhat terrifying. The more timid Shauna had already covered her mouth.
Suddenly, the seaweed shot out with a swoosh. Each strand wrapped around a Skrelp or Dragalge, and with a splash, they were pulled out of the water and retracted back beneath the tree's canopy.
In what felt like an instant, half of Skrelp and Dragalge surrounding the ghost ship had disappeared.
The captured Skrelp and Dragalge struggled desperately, hanging in the air, swaying back and forth as they were suspended by the kelp.
Suddenly, the seaweed glowed with green light, and Skrelp and Dragalge immediately froze, hanging quietly beneath the giant tree like salted fish about to be dried.
It turned out that Florges had used her Giga Drain skill.
The remaining Skrelp and Dragalge were terrified, unsure whether they should continue attacking or flee. freёwebnoѵel.com
Before they could react, the seaweed moved again. None of Skrelp or Dragalge could escape, and all of them were hoisted up into the air.
As Skrelp and Dragalge were caught, the sea calmed down. The sea breeze gently blew, and the sight of Skrelp and Dragalge hanging in the air was strangely intriguing, swaying back and forth.
Tierno, Shauna, and Trevor stared at the giant tree ahead, eyes wide and mouths agape, unsure how to react.
They could hardly imagine that Florges, just one Pokémon, could be this powerful!
Especially Trevor, who had seen the legendary Pokémon Moltres before, but now he seriously doubted if that Moltres could have beaten Florges.
"Ha~ Finally solved. Now, let's see what happened to these Skrelp and Dragalge. What was all this madness about?"
Yuga's voice snapped Tierno, Shauna, and Trevor back to reality.
Quickly recovering, Trevor grabbed his camera from his waist and took a picture of the giant tree with Skrelp and Dragalge hanging from it.
Such a rare scene was too precious to pass up.
Unlike Tierno, who aspired to become a powerful trainer, or Shauna, who dreamed of sitting on the throne of the Kalos Queen, Trevor was a Pokémon photography enthusiast. His dream was to personally photograph every Pokémon in the world.
After a brief investigation, Yuga quickly found the reason behind Skrelp and Dragalge' madness.
It turned out that there was an old sunken ship beneath the ghost ship, which had been submerged for an unknown number of years. It had apparently become the home for Skrelps and Dragalge.
However, it was so decrepit that when the ghost ship passed through the area, the waves it caused had struck the already decaying wreck, breaking it apart. This left Skrelp and Dragalge homeless.
Upon learning the cause, Yuga felt a bit embarrassed. It turned out that they were the ones at fault!
Now what? Yuga glanced at Skrelp and Dragalge still hanging in the air and found himself at a loss.
After commanding Florges to remove the giant tree, Yuga placed all the unconscious Skrelp and Dragalge aboard the ghost ship.
A quick estimate revealed that there were nearly a thousand of them—truly a large Pokémon group. No wonder the crew aboard the ghost ship had been so overwhelmed earlier.
Skrelp were not rare in the waters of the Kalos region. They were just ordinary Poison and Water-type Pokémon, but their evolved form, Dragalge, was much rarer.
To evolve Skrelp into Dragalge required a high level, and in natural conditions, it was very difficult for an average Skrelp to reach the final evolutionary stage.
When Yuga activated his Insight skill, all he saw was a sea of red and orange, with very little yellow. The Dragalge were not young, clearly having aged their way into their evolution. Their potential was far from impressive.
Such miserable potential couldn't be saved even with a rejuvenation potion.
Yuga had originally thought that if Skrelp and Dragalge had good potential, he might capture them all since they no longer had a home.
Thinking about it now, it's probably better to just find them a new home—it's more cost-effective that way!
Though Yuga wasn't lacking in Innovation potions, new Pokémon were constantly hatching at the Ecopark, and some had to be allocated to the League as well. So, innovation potions weren't exactly in surplus at the moment.
It would be a bit difficult to suddenly produce a large number of innovation potions for Skrelp and Dragalge.
Moreover, the purpose of his trip was to find a large Electric-type Pokémon group, which related to the main storyline of the system's mission. Once the Pokémon group was found, he would need to use the extra innovation potions on them.
"Florges, please heal them," Yuga said after thinking for a moment.
"Florges~"
Florges nodded, then used her Grassy Terrain skill, enveloping all Skrelp and Dragalge piled on the deck beneath it.
There were too many of them, and the deck couldn't fit them all, so Yuga had to pile them together.
However, with so many Skrelp and Dragalge grouped together, the smell was truly unbearable—a mix of fishy and rotting odors filled the air.
Skrelp and Dragalge relied on camouflage to hunt and didn't usually clean the dirt or aquatic plants on their bodies, so they were always filthy.
"Gym Leader Shimizu, do you think they'll attack us again when they wake up?" Shauna asked worriedly.
Yuga chuckled and replied, "Don't worry, they won't dare!" With that, he released Chimecho.
"Chimecho~"
As soon as Chimecho appeared, it affectionately rubbed its cheek against Yuga's.
Before long, Skrelp and Dragalge began to stir, slowly waking up. They were furious and seemed intent on attacking Yuga and the others.
Seeing these ugly creatures trying to harm Yuga, Chimecho wasn't having it! Without needing any command from Yuga, it flew straight to the heads of Skrelp and Dragalge, activating its Gravity Field. Skrelp and Dragalge were instantly immobilized.
Easily restraining Skrelp and Dragalge, Chimecho beamed with pride, giving Yuga a "praise me" look. Yuga, ever so supportive, gave it a thumbs-up.
Feeling praised, Chimecho was overjoyed: Yuga really does love me the most!
Once Skrelp and Dragalge had calmed down, Yuga spoke, "First, I apologize for unintentionally destroying your home. That was my mistake."
Skrelp and Dragalge didn't calm down just because of Yuga's apology. They began to argue among themselves, questioning what an apology would do and why they still needed Miss Junsha!
After a moment of thought, Yuga said, "How about this? Let me see if I can fix your home."
Upon hearing this, Skrelp and Dragalge gradually quieted down. Their home had originally been built by humans, so perhaps this human had the ability to fix it.
If it could be repaired, they might be able to forgive this human (O.S.: mainly because they couldn't beat him!).
Seeing that Skrelp and Dragalges agreed, Yuga smiled and said, "Alright then, please wait for a moment."
After saying that, Yuga sent out his Lapras and Dhelmise to explore the wreckage of the sunken ship at the bottom of the sea.
Upon investigating, Yuga was in a bit of a bind. The ship had already broken into pieces, leaving only some scattered fragments of wood. With glue, it would be impossible to piece it back together.
Now, Yuga began to suspect that he might have been "scammed" by these Skrelp and Dragalge.
Considering the state of decay of this ship, even a simple wave of the sea could have smashed it to pieces! Why did it break just when he passed by? This surely must be a scam, right?
What should he do now?
Yuga paced back and forth on the deck, thinking about how to find a new home for Skrelp and Dragalge.
Just then, he suddenly noticed some seaweed floating on the surface of the sea and thought, "Got it!"
"Florges, come here!"
Yuga called Florges over and then began speaking to it rapidly in a mixture of words and gestures for quite a while.
"Here's the thing: your original home is in such bad shape that I can't fix it!"
As soon as Yuga finished saying this, Skrelp and Dragalge immediately became upset and started to blame Yuga.
Yuga quickly continued, "Hold on! I haven't finished yet! Here's what I'm thinking: I'll make you a new home. How about you take a look and see if you like it?"
Hearing this, Skrelp and Dragalge quieted down: "Well, alright, we'll take a look!"
With that, Yuga, Skrelp, Dragalge, and of course, Florges, all went into the sea together.
Yuga and Florges were protected by a psychic barrier created by Chimecho, allowing them to move freely underwater.
The seabed was covered with dark green and brown kelp, and thanks to Florges's earlier boosting, these kelps had grown exceptionally wide and long.
Yuga nodded at Florges, and she responded by emitting a green glow, causing the kelps to twist and writhe like sea snakes.
This sight scared Skrelp and Dragalge. They thought Florges was going to suspend them again, so they quickly scattered in all directions.
However, the expected attack didn't come. Instead, under Florges's control, the kelps began to weave together, slowly forming beautiful houses.
Layer upon layer of kelp made these houses look sturdy and beautiful, far better than the wreck of the ship that Skrelp and Dragalge had once called home.
Now, Skrelp and Dragalge were no longer afraid. They joyfully swam to the houses and curiously swirled around them.
Since there were so many of them, Florges worked tirelessly to weave all the houses together. Thankfully, Florges was now much stronger than before, or such a heavy task would have exhausted her.
Now, Skrelp and Dragalge' homes had gone from a shared shack to individual villas. There was no more dissatisfaction from them, and their eyes were filled with gratitude as they looked at Yuga and Florges.
On the ship, Tierno and the others began to grow anxious as Yuga hadn't come back yet and paced back and forth on the deck.
"Why hasn't he come back yet? What's taking so long?" Tierno said irritably, grabbing a handful of his hair.
"Do you think something happened?" Shauna asked, looking worried.
"No way, Gym Leader Shimizu is amazing. We should trust him!" Trevor said confidently, believing that Yuga would be able to handle the situation well.
"Right, nothing's going to happen. Gym Leader Shimizu is so capable!" Shauna murmured to herself.
Meanwhile, deep in the sea, Yuga encountered another situation.
Once the houses were finished, Skrelp and Dragalge expressed their thanks to Yuga and Florges.
Just then, an old Dragalge slowly swam out of the group and called to Yuga. It seemed to want to take him somewhere.
