I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon-Chapter 1365: Elesa
Chapter 1365: Elesa
The filming of the advertisement, unlike making a movie, didn't take much time. Ninetales was sent back after just two days with Kiriha.
Upon its return, Ninetales looked refreshed and full of energy. It was obvious that it was very satisfied with the advertisement shoot, to the point that its attitude toward Yuga had become even more pleasant than before.
One day, while Yuga was busy attending to a customer in his store, Beidou came over and whispered a few words in his ear. Yuga had no choice but to call Suzuki Koen to take over serving the customer, and he hurried off to the gym.
When Yuga and Beidou arrived at the gym, they saw a strange person standing in the courtyard, wrapped up tightly from head to toe.
"Are you here to challenge the gym?" Yuga approached and asked.
The person in front of him was wearing a large, oversized outfit, a hat, sunglasses, and even had a scarf covering their mouth. Yuga couldn't even tell if it was a man or a woman.
"That's right," came a crisp and pleasant voice from behind the scarf. Now Yuga finally realized that this strange person was actually a young woman.
"Then please register first," Yuga said.
Trainers who challenge a gym are required to register their personal information first. Otherwise, even if they win, the gym won't be able to issue them a badge.
Only after a trainer's information is registered will the gym record their badge acquisition and report it to the League's trainer system. This ensures that there is an official record of the badge in the League's database.
When participating in the League competition, officials will only allow a trainer to compete after verifying their badge records. Otherwise, even if they show up with eight badges, they wouldn't be eligible to enter.
After all, there's no telling if those badges were stolen or obtained through unfair means.
The reason Beidou hurried to call Yuga was because this young woman not only showed up without an appointment but also refused to register her information, acting all secretive and suspicious.
As the girl examined Yuga, she felt a bit surprised: "Isn't the Gym Leader of Verdanturf Town supposed to be around twenty-five or twenty-six years old? Why does he look like he's only eighteen? Could this be a fake?"
"Are you really the Gym Leader here?" she asked.
Yuga was taken aback for a moment, then realized the reason behind her doubt. Indeed, his current appearance often caused misunderstandings. Even the people in his store had almost failed to recognize him when they first saw his changed look!
However, while everyone was surprised, they didn't dwell on it too much. After all, the Pokémon world was full of wonders—Psychic, Aura Guardian, and even immortals like AZ were well-known. Yuga's slightly altered appearance was hardly anything out of the ordinary.
Besides, Yuga's special abilities were no longer a secret. Most people believed that his change in appearance was simply a side effect of those abilities.
Mr. Kuni'o, who possessed similar powers, was already 120 years old, and no one found that surprising anymore.
"I'm the real deal," Yuga replied. "Do you still want to challenge the gym? If so, please register first."
"Alright then," the girl responded decisively and followed Beidou inside to complete the registration.
When they both returned, Yuga noticed Beidou's shocked expression.
The girl had taken off her hat, sunglasses, and scarf. Seeing her face, Yuga immediately understood why Beidou had reacted that way.
"You're Elesa?"
This young lady was none other than the spokesperson that Yuga had specifically requested Kiriha to invite. She was also a Gym Trainer from the Nimbasa Gym in the Unova region.
As a superstar with popularity rivaling that of Diantha, Elesa naturally had countless fans. Although Beidou was not one of her die-hard followers, he certainly recognized her.
Seeing such a famous celebrity, whom he had only ever seen on television, appear in real life was enough to leave Beidou utterly stunned, his mouth hanging open in shock.
"Hello, Gym Leader Shimizu, nice to meet you. Please forgive my earlier rudeness," Elesa said with a cheerful smile.
"As far as I know, the commercial has already been filmed. Why hasn't Gym Leader Elesa returned to Unova?" Yuga asked curiously.
With a bright smile, Elesa replied, "Since I came all the way to Hoenn, I thought I might as well stay a few more days and enjoy myself. I'm not too busy at the moment, and I heard that Verdanturf Town is a great place, so I decided to check it out."
Yuga responded, "I hope Verdanturf Town didn't disappoint you."
Elesa nodded in satisfaction and said, "It's indeed a wonderful place, especially the environment—it's very relaxing." It was a perfect vacation spot for someone as busy as her.
"I should also thank you, Gym Leader Shimizu, for specifically choosing me to be Everlasting Workshop's spokesperson," Elesa added.
"It's only because Gym Leader Elesa was willing to accept our offer," Yuga replied humbly. "By the way, are you still planning to challenge the Gym?"
"Of course! Is there a rule in Hoenn that Gym Leaders can't challenge other Gyms?"
"There's no such rule."
"That's good. I've admired you for a long time, Gym Leader Shimizu. I hope I'll have the honor of learning from you today."
"I wouldn't dare call it teaching—let's consider it an exchange," Yuga said.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the two took their positions on opposite sides of the Gym's battle arena. Beidou quickly brought over the Pokémon typically used for Gym battles.
Once everything was ready, Beidou took his place as the referee and announced, "The battle begins! The Gym Leader will release their Pokémon first."
Since Yuga was unsure of Elesa's exact strength, he decided to start cautiously. His first Pokémon was a Bulbasaur.
This particular Bulbasaur was quite unique, with strange patterns covering its body. It was one of Mewtwo's cloned Pokémon partners.
Although this Bulbasaur lacked the ability to evolve, its unique genes granted it exceptional potential. Moreover, it had been cloned from Ash's Venusaur by Mewtwo.
Bulbasaur?
Seeing that Yuga had sent out a first-stage Pokémon, Elesa felt a bit insulted.
"Come out, Emolga!" Elesa kissed her Poké Ball before releasing her Pokémon. "Show them what you can do!"
"Emolga~!"
Emolga glided gracefully from the Poké Ball, spreading its wing-like membranes and landing lightly on the ground. It then struck a cute pose and winked playfully at Bulbasaur.
Bulbasaur remained completely unfazed.
Both Emolga and Bulbasaur were at a similar level, below the pseudo-Elite level.
"Emolga, use Double Team and then Aerial Ace!"
As soon as Beidou announced the start of the match, Emolga took the initiative. It swiftly used Double Team, creating multiple copies of itself, and immediately followed up with Aerial Ace.
Facing the swarm of Emolga clones surrounding it, Bulbasaur remained calm. Under Yuga's command, it extended two Vine Whips and swept them across the field, shattering the illusions one by one.
Yuga and Bulbasaur had impeccable timing—just as the real Emolga was about to land its attack, the Vine Whip struck.
At this point, Emolga had no chance to evade and could only watch helplessly as it was sent flying by the powerful Vine Whip.
"Emolga!!!"
The Emolga let out a cry of pain as it crashed to the ground, its adorable little face scrunching up in distress, and its big, watery eyes stared directly at Bulbasaur, looking pitiful and heart-wrenching.
Yuga, however, saw right through it—Emolga had sneakily used the move Charm.
But Bulbasaur had a heart of steel and didn't hold back just because of that. As soon as Emolga hit the ground, Bulbasaur's vines lashed out again with unrelenting force.
Fortunately for Emolga, despite playing the pity card, it remained highly alert. Just as Bulbasaur's vines came sweeping in, it rolled over on the ground at the last second, barely dodging the attack.
Bang!!!
The vines struck the ground, leaving a deep mark, making Emolga's tiny face twitch nervously. If it had taken that hit, its "delicate" body might not have been able to withstand it!
Whimper, whimper~ so scary!
Bang~ Bang~ Bang~
Bulbasaur's vines lashed out repeatedly, and Emolga had to rely on its agility to dodge left and right.
Having been pushed into a corner, Emolga finally dropped the weak act. Sparks of electricity crackled from its cheeks, landing on Bulbasaur's vines, successfully repelling them.
Seeing Bulbasaur's relentless attacks, Elesa finally understood—despite being in its first stage, this Bulbasaur was no pushover!
She had underestimated it!
"Emolga, use Agility!"
Following Elesa's command, Emolga leapt into the air, its gliding speed suddenly accelerating. In the blink of an eye, it was hovering above Bulbasaur.
"Signal Beam!"
A yellow-green beam shot down from Emolga, targeting the seed on Bulbasaur's back.
As Bulbasaur was struck by the beam, it suddenly released a large cloud of purple powder from its seed, engulfing Emolga instantly.
Both Pokémon let out cries of pain.
Bulbasaur had taken a critical hit and was severely injured, while Emolga, having inhaled the poison powder, was now poisoned.
"Emolga~ Emolga~"
It hurts, it hurts!
Emolga shuddered and hurriedly distanced itself from Bulbasaur. Its skin took on an unusual hue due to the poison, and the corrosive effects made it feel even worse.
"Bulbasaur, use Grassy Terrain!"
Thanks to Florges, this Bulbasaur had learned the move Grassy Terrain.
Lush green grass quickly sprouted beneath Bulbasaur's feet, channeling energy into its body and slowly healing its injuries.
Seeing this, Elesa's face turned pale.
"That's not fair—it even knows healing moves! I thought healing moves were hard to learn? How can even a Bulbasaur master them?"
"Bulbasaur, use Grass Pledge!"
"Emolga, dodge quickly!"
Seeing Yuga and Bulbasaur initiate another attack, Elesa urgently called out to Emolga. It wanted to dodge, but the pain from the poison corroding its gliding membrane made its reaction slower than usual.
"Bulbasaur~"
A pillar of green energy shot up from below Emolga, enveloping it completely.
Although this move didn't knock Emolga out immediately, the poison in its system finally took effect, draining the last of its strength.
"You did well, Emolga." Elesa recalled the fainted Emolga and then looked at Yuga. "That was an electrifying battle—my whole body is tingling! It's absolutely thrilling!"
( ̄□ ̄;) Yuga: ...
You really didn't have to say something that embarrassing.
"Gym Leader Shimizu, your next opponent is this!"
After finishing speaking, Elesa threw the Poké Ball in her hand. With a flash of electric light, a sleek and agile Zebstrika appeared on the field.
"Zebstrika~"
Crackle, crackle~
After entering the field, Zebstrika quickly ran around the arena once before stopping, blue electric sparks constantly flowing across its body, looking very majestic.
This was a pseudo-Elite level Zebstrika.
In Gym battles, the Gym Leader cannot switch Pokémon, so although Yuga knew that Bulbasaur was no match for Zebstrika, he still had to command it to fight hard.
As expected, Bulbasaur soon lost its ability to fight under Zebstrika's Flame Charge, and the grassy terrain could not save it in time.
The healing of the grassy terrain relies on a continuous process, and the one-time healing amount is not enough to restore Bulbasaur's full health in time.
Yuga's second Pokémon was Sceptile, it was also a pseudo-Elie level Pokémon.
This Sceptile was the first one to enter the Ecopark, with blue potential, and had now reached pseudo-Elite level.
But at this moment, the Gym battle had truly begun; the first two Pokémon were merely symbolic tests.
Both of these Pokémon were speed-oriented, so once they clashed, a speed battle began.
Originally, the speed of both Pokémon was about the same, but since Zebstrika had used Flame Charge in the previous battle, its additional effect was to increase the user's speed. As a result, Sceptile quickly found itself at a disadvantage.
When Sceptile was about to use Grass Pledge to ambush Zebstrika, it was instead kicked away by Zebstrika's Double Kick before it could strike.
Sceptile got up and stabilized itself, immediately starting the Grassy Terrain again, which made Elesa frown.
Again, Grassy Terrain!
When two Pokémon are of similar strength, Grassy Terrain can often play a crucial role.
With the support of Grassy Terrain, Sceptile immediately launched its ultimate move—Frenzy Plant.
The ground in the arena churned as thick brown roots, larger than a human's thigh, twisted and emerged, striking at Zebstrika with great force.
"Zebstrika~"

Seeing this, Zebstrika hurriedly used Flame Charge to run away, leaving scorched earth in its wake.
With the boost from Flame Charge, Zebstrika's speed increased, and Sceptile's Frenzy Plant couldn't keep up.
"Zebstrika~"
Zebstrika leapt into the air, landing directly on the brown roots and running along them. Sparks flew from its feet, setting the roots it ran over on fire.
Seeing this, Sceptile became anxious. Frenzy Plant had a side effect: once the move's duration ended, it would fall into a paralyzed state, making it vulnerable to attacks.
But Zebstrika was too agile. No matter how Sceptile controlled the roots to twist and lash out, it couldn't catch up to the fast-moving Zebstrika.
Soon, the entire arena was engulfed in blazing flames.
Noticing Sceptile's growing anxiety, Yuga shouted, "Sceptile, calm down!"
