Chapter 408

Mu Mingtang took the lamp from the servants and waved a hand at them, “There’s nothing to do here, so you can return beforehand. There’s no need to alarm the others as the Prince and I will return soon.”

The two servants didn’t have the authority to object, so they merely bowed and replied, “As you command.”

Mu Mingtang approached slowly from the corridor. At this moment, in the martial arts arena, Xie Xuanchen was standing amidst the snow, practising his sword. His moves were wide, swift and fierce and each thrust was extremely ruthless.

It didn’t look like he was practising as it felt more akin to him venting his frustrations.

Mu Mingtang didn’t disturb him but accompanied him silently with the lamp. A sword was considered the gentleman among all weapons, but in Xie Xuanchen’s hands, it carried an indomitably murderous aura, violently being swung around.

It’s no wonder that he denied it when Mu Mingtang asked if the sword was his special weapon. It turned out that he was good at many weapons, but the most unique one was his swordsmanship.

Such brilliant sword skills were worthy of being the king of all weapons.

After Xie Xuanchen practised a whole set of sword skills, practically releasing his anger out on them, he retracted his sword with a bang and strode towards Mu Mingtang.

“It’s so cold, why did you come out?”

“I didn’t see you when I woke up and I was worried that something might have happened to you, so I came out to look for you,” Mu Mingtang sighed after finishing speaking and said, “Don’t burden everything in your heart. With the current court…it’s not something that can be changed by your power alone. Or perhaps, it might not turn out that bad.”

Xie Xuanchen let out a laugh when he heard her speak. He walked fast and by the time Mu Mingtang finished speaking, he had ended up arriving at the edge of the corridor. He casually threw the scabbard onto the wooden steps before reaching out and picking up a jar of wine.

“I hope I’m worrying unnecessarily,” Xie Xuanchen still seemed to be in a bad mood. He leaned against the railing, opened the wine jar and poured the wine into his mouth directly. Mu Mingtang looked worried as she placed the lamp on the corridor. Lifting the corners of her skirt, she sat on the railing with him, “I can understand that you are frustrated, but I worked hard in treating your body, so I can’t allow you to ruin that.”

Xie Xuanchen finally smiled when he heard this, “Okay, I’ll keep it for you.”

Xie Xuanchen’s choice of alcohol was a strong wine and Mu Mingtang knew that her tolerance was low, so she didn’t drink with him at all and just sat on the side quietly with him. Seeing that the jars of wine placed here had bottomed out, she felt that it was about enough and said, “That’s enough, stop drinking; any more and you’re going to get drunk.”

Xie Xuanchen threw the empty wine jar onto the snow with a nonchalant expression on his face, “How could I be drunk?”

“We are all mortal beings, why can’t you get drunk?” Mu Mingtang wanted to stop him from drinking again, but she didn’t pay attention to his surroundings just now. Upon standing up, she found a few wine jars scattered behind the opposite stone table, which were all empty.

Mu Mingtang was taken aback and quickly faced Xie Xuanchen, “Before I came, you already drank a lot?”

“Yeah,” Xie Xuanchen admitted honestly, “It’s just after drinking that I wanted to sweat from some exercise.”
