Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear-Chapter 329: I’m Unstanning Them!
As the night quickly approached, the lights on the stage were clearly visible in the livestream.
The weirdness of the festival also turned up a notch.
As every student gathered in the Gyeongwon University Circle, Minji also tried to squeeze in. On her left, there was a crowd; on her right, there was also a crowd.
Suddenly, a chorus of screams filled her ears.
"Ahhh!"
"Isn't that—?!"
Behind her, Seoyun was almost crushed by the people who suddenly tried to run in a direction.
"The hell, why is it so crowded?!"
"What the hell are they screaming for?!"
The two friends turned toward the direction where the most people were crowding. Nine eye-catching heads were out and above the heads of the crowd, putting all the short people in great shame.
These nine tall guys were wearing eyeglasses.
"Ah! We're caught!"
"I told you, we should have just gone backstage!"
"Ah, Haru! Save me!"
Minji and Seoyun blinked.
Wasn't that IMMORTALS?
It wasn't just them.
At the University's official livestream, when the camera swept over the audience area, some hawk-eyed audience members also noticed the presence of other high-profile individuals hiding among the crowd.
– IMMORTALS!
– DRAKE!
– AHHHH Jeongwoonieeeeee!!!!
– I just came for Yona, but why are there so many celebrities in the audience?
– I didn't know that Gyeongwon's festival is this grand! I should have attended TT
– Quick, quick, let's spread this news!
It was time for Han Daon to ascend to the stage. As today's host, together with Yona, the Sleepy Princess, when they faced the crowd, they were utterly nervous.
They were merely a B-level artist and a rookie. Why do they have to face this kind of crowd?!
As an alumnus, Han Daon had accepted the host's role, thinking this would just be like the usual festival. But what happened?
Is this truly the Rising Stars Festival and not the A-list Stars Festival? Why weren't they informed that there would be a red carpet at this event?!
"Hello, welcome to Gyeongwon's Annual Founding Festival!"
His eyes darted to the screen at the side of the stage to see the cues and some of the livestream comments, but they almost bulged out of his sockets when he saw the number of viewers.
[41k]
It was still going up.
'I'm doomed.'
Amidst this overwhelming pressure, Han Daon and Yona exchanged a few words as the hosts before introducing the first performers.
The Elite Club ascended the stage.
After losing their grand finale slot from Gil, Jay had instead gotten the next best slot, the Opening scene.
Roxie was at the center of the Elite Club's line-up. On her right side was Lee Seoha, while on the left was Shin. All of them examined the crowd with cold hands.
"A-Are we gonna be fine?" Lee Seoha asked.
Roxie's eyes swept carefully along the crowd, but she didn't find the familiar, graceful figure among the high-profile attendees today.
Perhaps, she wouldn't come.
"Roxieeeee!!!"
"Little Miwol! You look so gorgeous in a regal dress. Can you marry me, please?"
Roxie didn't mind those shouts at all and looked straight ahead. Like this, her beauty was almost comparable to DARIA's Yona.
After the Elite Club bowed, the lights around the stage dimmed, masking the movements of the people onstage.
In the backstage area, Rayen was curiously watching them move about the stage.
'Just what kind of performance will they do?'
When the lights returned, the audience was greeted by Roxie sleeping on a hanging bed, looking like a cursed princess.
"....."
Then, the other members also moved, acting and saying their lines. They were actually doing a theatre play!
'They aren't going to dance and sing?'
At his side, Gil had already expected this.
Gyeongwon University wasn't an idol school. It was a performance art university, so its programs weren't restricted to singing and dancing alone. This play wasn't really unusual.
It was just that...
By the side, Gil frowned.
This was bad. He had snatched the finale performance from the Elite Club because he thought it was the most optimal choice.
Yet now...
The play continued.
Roxie was the main character. And as the protagonist, she had the most lines. But it wasn't because she had the most lines that she was getting all eyes turning toward her.
It was her whole performance.
The way she was singing was full of emotion. She embodied the role wholeheartedly — a princess who was longing for freedom.
If Rayen were to rate her stats using the status window, she would probably get all A-S ratings.
She definitely deserved her title as Little Miwol.
It wasn't just her. Every character in the play did their role well. Even Lee Seoha who was the villainess of the story.
All in all, the play lasted for about 15 minutes.
This must be why Jay was insistent on their grand finale slot.
Gil was totally regretting his actions now.
When the play was finished, the members of the Elite Club once again bowed. The audience was full of applause.
Even the livestream was filled with praise.
– Heck, I got goosebumps!
– SEEDZ BOOOOOO!!!
– They deserve to be called the Elites.
– Eh? Why weren't they in the grand finale? I thought that the Elite Club always has the grand finale slot every year?
– Hahaha isn't that Shin the dog? He really played the dog this time?
– What's the name of that girl? I think I've seen her somewhere.
– You don't remember? She's Miwol's little doppelganger.
– Ah! Now, I remember! She's always the one playing the child counterpart of Yeon Miwol's role earlier in the days! She's grown up so well now.
– SEEDZ ungrateful idol!
– Who the hell is this spammer?! Admin, please block them!
– Ahhhhhh, my beautiful baby Miwol has grown up now!
In the backstage area, Jay was smiling smugly at Gil.
It was Gil's loss this time.
The Elite Club's performance was totally out of the charts, but it wasn't what caused his loss. It was the repercussion after.
The next set of performances followed. With the large dose of adrenaline that the audience received earlier, the crash of the following performance was too hard.
Due to the exhaustion from the opening, most of the audience were no longer paying any attention.
By the second performance, there was occasional applause here and there, but the initial enthusiasm had died.
For the third, some were yawning.
For the fourth, some had slept.
And by the fifth, some rows of the audience seats had been emptied by the leaving midway because of boredom.
However, it wasn't the same in the livestream.
– Ahahaha, that was quite a cute performance!
– Is SEEDZ really going to appear here?
– Cameramen! I implore you to please focus on IMMORTALS! These performances are too boring!
– Right, right!
– SEEDZ! Ungrateful Idols! We helped you debut, and you abandon us? You think a few selfies will solve this problem?! We need a better explanation from you!
– Admins, why aren't you kicking this spammer out of the stream?!
– That's right! We want an explanation!
– You should have attended the festival! They already explained their side. It wasn't their fault!
– It wasn't their fault? Shouldn't they have announced an explanation and apologized, then? Why leave all Edens hanging?
– What the hell is happening? Why are you fighting in our school's festival stream?
– Who are these seeds? Why don't you take your fandom war back to your home?
– They already apologized. What more do you even want them to do?
– They apologized too late, and you really just forgave them like that?
– Why did the livestream suddenly turn into a battlefield?
– It seems way more interesting here in the livestream (eating_popcorn.gif)
– Show me Jeongwonieeeeee
– Show me SEEDZ! NO MATTER WHAT YOU GUYS SAY, I CAN'T JUST GIVE UP ON SEEING SEEDZ, OKAY?!
– Bah, so weak! Edens, so weak!
– If SEEDZ's performance tonight doesn't satisfy me, I'm unstanning them!
After the seemingly endless boring performance, finally, it was time for the Grand Finale.
