Chapter 324: I Told You, I’m Sorry~

Misty left the meeting room after sending Yeon Miwol in.

"What am I here for?"

"What is she here for?"

Yeon Miwol and Plotter simultaneously asked. Plotter briefly glanced at her, who had just taken a seat, before turning back to Clandestine.

Since the two of them were looking at the Director, the members of SEEDZ also couldn’t help but turn toward her.

"I just want to confirm something."

"What does that have to do with inviting an Unbloom here?" Hearing that, the members of SEEDZ turned toward Yeon Miwol in surprise.

Yeon Miwol wasn’t an Entity?

They had all believed that she was an Entity since she was Idol:Revive’s host, and she knows things that Entities should only know. But apparently...

"Well, I’ve been having some doubts regarding one thing," Clandestine said.

"What is it?"

"How come the creator of the entire Entity System that cemented his place as an Overseer, who is supposed to be a genius, meticulous, and scheming, doesn’t know of the existence of the Bugs when he introduced the Artificial Book Page feature?"

This time, all eyes turned back to Plotter.

’Wait. He’s the creator of the Entity System? He’s that amazing?’

Xu Jiji and Yeo Haru, though, didn’t have any reaction regarding this fact.

’They know about it?’

Plotter smiled. "Before I introduced the Minstrel’s, the only way to see the Bugs was to look at the Life Books. Entities don’t have any symptoms at all. I don’t habitually check on my life book. Do you?"

Clandestine also smiled sweetly.

"But that’s not what I am most curious about. The Entities are the only ones using the system and the book pages, but why do the Unblooms have Bugs on them? I’m just worried because Unblooms are the ones getting affected the most. They should have acted according to the most favorable fate for the world; however, with Bugs eroding the passages in their Life Books, the souls would head to something unfortunate. Fate tangling. Untimely death. In worse case, soul destruction."

Every word that left Clandestine’s mouth made the smile on Plotter’s face widen. Even the Minstrels, who were just listening from the side was becoming pale.

"Fortunately, Entities are immune to this because we’re not constrained to fate."

That’s right. Why was it just the Unblooms getting affected, but the Entities are immune when it should be the Entities that are more susceptible to Bugs?

Yeon Miwol sensed the question in Rayen’s mind and whispered in his ears.

"I heard Entities don’t have to follow a certain fate. That means the passages inside it will only appear after the events have passed."

Rayen finally understood.

Unblooms’ Life Books will be written ahead of time so their souls would follow it, but Entities’ Life Books would only be written after. Even if the Bugs did try to erode a passage in an Entity’s life book, nothing would happen because it had already passed.

Rayen glanced at Yeon Miwol. She should be an Unbloom, but why was she so knowledgeable?

Plotter and Clandestine also heard Yeon Miwol’s words, their attention shifting toward her.

Clandestine continued speaking. "That’s why I want to confirm it Miwol’s Life Book. Just how do the bugs get transferred to you, Unblooms?"

"Didn’t you just say that getting infected by this bug will possibly lead someone to death? Yet you want me to be a guinea pig?" Yeon Miwol crossed her arms. "Again?"

’Again?’

Rayen blinked infusion.

Clandestine feigned a cough. "Well, we have the Minstrels here. They will expel the bug before it erodes your Life Book."

The Minstrels: "....."

Still, Yeon Miwol made no move.

Clandestine sighed. "What do you want?"

Finally, Yeon Miwol smiled. "You already know it."

"Fine."

"So? How do we do this?"

Suddenly, two Life Books appeared in Clandestine’s hands. One was for hers and the other was for Yeon Miwol.

She opened her own life book and glanced at the recent pages. There were dark blotches that littered the pages, erasing some of the parts.

She nodded approvingly. "Okay, it seems I’m also infected. That makes this easier."

"....."

’Why do you seem so happy?’

"I will bind the next month’s page in your Life Book. After this, I might finally have some answers to my questions." Clandestine’s eyes peeked at the still smiling Plotter before gazing at Adrian, who was supposed to be the Minstrels’ leader. "While I’m doing the binding, please perform a cleansing." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

They did not have the excuse to refuse, so the members, excluding Ayumi, stood up and gathered in formation.

Before Liam turned on the music, Clandestine and Yeon Miwol readied themselves.

Don Juan’s song reverberated throughout the entire meeting room. The black lines gradually emerged, dancing in the air. As eye-catching as it was, the black lines on Plotter’s head were the first thing that the members of SEEDZ saw.

It was still as thick as usual. Despite having attended all OF SEEDZ’s cleansing, the thickness of Plotter’s Bug Manifestation never seemed to reduce.

Just how much did Plotter abuse the Artificial Book Pages to have this much Bugs on him?

Next, they looked at the Director (former). The Minstrels finally discovered what was connected to the other end of the black lines. One of the ends was connected to her head, while the other end was connected to her own Life Book that was in her hand.

After observing the two Overseers’ black lines, the eyes of the members of SEEDZ turned toward Yeon Miwol.

At the side, Clandestine prepared a book page that was already pre-written by a Scribe. Clandestine’s hand subtly glowed as she merged the page inside Yeon Miwol’s Life Book.

Under the music and the resonance ongoing, they could see a Bug line that was connected to Clandestine wriggle, seemingly being tickled by the music notes in the air. Just when it saw the book page in Clandestine’s hand, it immediately sought salvation from it, joyfully disconnecting itself from Clandestine and her life book before hopping toward the page in her hands.

When the book page was finally bound to Yeon Miwol’s Life Book, the other end of the black line extended toward Yeon Miwol.

The Bug thought that it would be saved if it changed hosts, but it couldn’t escape its doom. When the chorus of the song approached, the intensity of its vibration increased. Soon enough, it finally couldn’t maintain itself, gradually dispersing into black dust.

Yeon Miwol, who was busy watching the Minstrels’ eyes dart from everywhere, suddenly felt a stinging sensation in her nose. All of a sudden, she just felt so emotional.

She tried to bite her lips to stop the incoming surge of emotions, but in the end, she couldn’t. A single drop of tear fell from her right eye.

It wasn’t just her. Even Plotter and the former Director felt like crying. Exactly as the music stopped, Yeon Miwol bowed her head to wipe the tears away. Plotter still refused to let his wide creepy smile go, so he was crying while smiling. Meanwhile, Clandestine peeked briefly at Adrian before looking away. Only Ayumi’s expression was still intact, even clapping for their performance.

The tense atmosphere earlier had been thoroughly broken by this scene. It was quite awkward.

The whole room was silent.

After calming herself, Clandestine glanced at the Minstrels.

Adrian explained what they had just seen. Clandestine stared daggers at Plotter. The room seemed to turn colder.

"So, how do you explain this?" Clandestine said.

This time, could no longer smile. He sighed while wiping his tears and snot.

"I give up. You win. Say what you want."

Seeing that Plotter was no longer insisting on playing dumb, Clandestine sighed. Once again, she looked at the Minstrels.

"You did it because of them, right?"

Plotter did not answer.

"You’re an Overseer. It should be the world’s interest first before your own."

Plotter stuck out his tongue, refusing to accept her beratings. "Aren’t you also—"

"That’s right, I’m also benefiting from this. That’s why you should have informed me."

This time, Plotter shied away. "Sorry."

Clandestine sighed again. "We could have thought of a much better approach. You even angered the Immortal earlier."

Plotter only smiled like a mischievous child. "I told you, I’m sorry~"

From the side, Rayen and his teammates were puzzled.

’What the hell are they talking about now?’

All of a sudden, Clandestine looked at them again.

"It concerns you all."

"Why does it concern us?"

Clandestine pointed at Plotter. "It’s because of him that you’re on hiatus!"

Plotter giggled. His expression seemed to be saying, "Hehe~"

The corners of the mouth of the Minstrels twitched.

Clandestine continued. "Now, you have to prove the significance as the solution to this problem, so you can continue existing!"

"... And how are we supposed to do that?" Rayen asked.

"The World Immortal set a condition for her to lift your activity suspension. You need to reach a certain number of resonance for the upcoming Rising Stars Festival."

The Minstrels frowned.

"How many do we need?"

Clandestine raised her fingers, showing five fingers. "This many."

"Five thousand?"

That’s easy.

"No. Fifty thousand."
