I will be a demon in this life!-Chapter 234
Marrac Mountain.
Under the night sky, covered in dark blood, two orcs corroded in the fifth rank (maximum point) lay dead on completely destroyed terrain. There was only cracked earth, broken rocks, trees on the ground, and residual energy in the environment.
The three sub-commanders watched from a distance as the wounded Moraf held his sword, now black due to his concentrated demonic aura, and in front of him stood an orc holding two bone axes, a dark miasma emanating from his body.
In the midst of the fierce combat, Moraf continued to grow, partly due to his lineage, which gave him great control and absorption of demonic energy, and partly due to the influence of the drop of "Demon God’s Blood," which gave him greater adaptability and capacity for growth through effort.
Not only by hunting corrupted monsters, but also partly due to his effort, that night Moraf’s power fluctuated near the sixth rank.
Moraf took a deep breath, then jumped, a jump that shook the ground within a radius of hundreds of meters.
The orc swung his axes, but Moraf didn’t hesitate. Covering his left hand with a demonic aura, he caught the axe between his fingers and cut the other axe with his sword.
Moraf didn’t waste a moment and made a downward demonic cut, releasing an intense dark blue demonic aura that cut through the ground and split a mountain of stone in the distance.
The orc’s body fell to the ground, cut in two, and Moraf’s blue horns were turning dark at that moment.
The three sub-commanders guarded the perimeter as they watched Moraf sit in a meditative position without saying a word.
...
Days later, in the marquisate, in his study, Mart Sevec was sitting reading one of the reports on the war that was taking place in human territory.
"...the first day of war ended with a greater number of casualties for the royal army, however, killer demons appeared (they looked like demons from the "Deep Sleep" guild), after which the imperial army ordered a temporary retreat.
There were internal movements in both armies for about four days.
In the Presial kingdom’s army, some traitors were executed, and those who were pardoned would command the vanguard.
In the imperial army, reinforcements arrived, probably holy paladins.
The second time the two armies clashed was at the beginning of the day, in a chaotic battle in which more than 15,000 soldiers were killed. Almost all soldiers with a power below the fifth spiritual core or the fifth circle of mana perished. The Presial kingdom’s army suffered greater casualties, but at the end of the day, the imperial army retreated once again after the assassin demons surprisingly killed three sub-commanders. However, two assassin demons were killed, one by a paladin, but before dying, he caused his demonic core to explode, releasing a poisonous cloud that will likely kill the paladin. The other assassin demon was killed by an imperial soldier wielding a heavy spear that emitted a powerful and sinister demonic aura.
The end of the war is probably near, and victory for the imperial army is imminent... "
Mart Sevec then saw a small chest, sent by the "Deep Sleep" guild. The chest came with a note that read:
"Marquis Mart Sevec. We will allow you to assess the value of the information we are giving you."
Mart knew that the war would not last long, given the course of events.
Upon opening the small chest, Mart saw the recording in which the wizard Eljam was negotiating with the imperialists.
"They want the royal family? There have been demonic humans using those sinister weapons made from demons. Why do I feel that the two things are related? Otherwise, why would the human Empire attack a kingdom with low military power? I need to gather my council."
After thinking about the reports from the information guilds and the information offered to him by the "Deep Sleep" guild, Mart decided to gather his council to discuss the events he considered important and the decisions he would make in the future.
...
At night, after meeting with his council in the marquisate.
Mart looked at little Persec.
The baby babbled happily when he saw his father.
"My little son, you will be very powerful in the future, won’t you?"
The baby smiled.
"My little one, I will be away for a while, you must behave yourself."
The baby shook his rattle.
Isirid rested her head on Mart’s shoulder.
"Selef, don’t be gone too long."
Mart kissed Isirid on the forehead and then on the lips.
"I’ll be back, don’t lose your calm."
She hugged him, and after saying goodbye to her, he went to the room where the little twins slept.
In the spacious, comfortable room, with the lights off, the two babies slept peacefully in their crib.
"Husband."
Deniris had her ears tilted, Mart looked at her and kissed her.
"I’m doing this because I care about you. And because I care about you, I’ll be back. Take good care of them."
She nodded and hugged Mart.
After hugging her, he looked back at his children.
"Denio."
A soft roar was heard.
"Protect the twins."
Another soft roar was heard.
Before leaving, Mart visited each of his wives.
In a large room, sitting on the edge of the bed, Selenia looked at Mart, who was kneeling beside her with his head resting on her slightly grown belly due to her pregnancy.
"Your father will return before you are born."
Mart kissed Selenia’s belly, then her, and then walked away from the mansion.
...
Near the borders, Mart sat on the roots of a tree.
"I want to go with you. But I know I can’t."
Mart looked at Iristel, the beautiful succubus who had been by his side since his arrival in that world.
He pointed to the root beside him.
She sat down.
"I love you. You have been my first companion. You trusted me without hesitation. I care about you deeply. I will return, and when I do, we will continue trying."
After listening to Mart, she kissed him, a deep and long kiss, after which she said:
"Go calmly. I will protect your territory until you return."
Mart nodded, hugged her, and breathed in her scent.
Mart stood up, surrounded himself with demonic energy, and then transformed the demonic energy into demonic wind spells with which he ascended above the clouds and then headed for human territory.
"We don’t have to keep trying."
Iristel touched her belly at that moment as she watched Mart disappear into the clouds in the sky.
