I was Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha-Chapter 74: Anything for my princess
Chapter 74: Anything for my princess
~AMBROSE’S POV~
After walking back from the garden and settling in. We laid in bed together. She was curled up on my chest. Her long lashes fluttered settling into a rem cycle. Her long hair spread out on the bed behind her. I reach out and comb a few strays behind her ear.
Her nose scrunched and wiggled a little from the strands tickling her nose.
Her lips parted slightly, giving her a natural pout. Her cheeks a soft pink against hair pale skin.
She felt warm holding me. I ran my thumb up and down her arm and she hummed in response.
A smile crept up my lips.
I still can’t believe this is how I’m spending my nights. With a vampire in my bed and her grip around my heart.
It beat in my chest so hard, I swear it would crack my ribs. Looking at her made my chest sink in. She was painfully beautiful it nearly broke me too look at her sleeping like this.
I didn’t feel an ounce of lust, just a strong desire to hold and protect, to never let her go. Holding her, I felt like I found someone I had spent my entire life looking for. And in a sense, I had, I was just looking for the wrong reasons.
Her breathing was steady; I kept watching the slow rise and fall of her back.
Soon I felt the pull of sleep dragging me under, and at this point I couldn’t tell if it was from exhaustion or if she was feeding, but I welcomed it none-the-less.
My internal alarm woke me it was just after dawn.
Damon should be awake. I know he’s itching to know my verdict. I had blocked the channel except for SOS communication.
"Beta Damon, I request your presence in the dinning hall at 7:30a sharp" I said to him through the channel.
"Understood Alpha" Damon answered quickly.
Looking down at the priceless woman in my arms, I hated leaving her to stay tucked in warm in this bed without me. It took every bit of self-discipline I had to force myself out of bed.
I Wash my face and brush my teeth; I dress in a black sweater and black jeans. I take one last look at my sleeping princess before shutting the door and heading to meet Damon.
Damon was sitting at the table with his laptop reading through emails when I walked up.
"Hello, Alpha, nice night last night?" He asked me sarcastically.
"Stupendous, actually, I’ll tell you about it later. We have a celebration to plan and a fight to watch." I sit down at the head of the table and servants come and place a plate in front of me.
"You’ve peaked my interest. A fight you say? Between whom?" Damon took a bite out of his sausage and closed his laptop.
"The ColdMoon Pack’s new alpha and our very own little princess. They will spar putting on a show tomorrow for us." I informed him proudly. "We will plan a celebration for tonight. We’ll use my personal money to fund this. Not the people. We’ll have a dinner, and all the pack members will be invited. This will be an open event. I want music and dancing. Send for reinforcements from the capital. If we send word now, they’ll be here by this evening before the event starts. Replacing their guards with most of mine will allow the warriors to attend tonight as well, shorter shifts, giving them most of the night off."
Damon nodded at me, giving me a weird look.
"What?" I asked skeptically.
"Nothing, you’re just, different." Damon leaned back crossing his arms waiting for me to rebuttal.
"No I’m not?" I defended.
"I can hear lies, and that’s a lie. You are planning a party, not hiding from one, but yeah, sure, of course, nothing’s changed." He mocked me shrugging his shoulders before reaching for his orange juice and taking a drink.
"Hey, that’s uncalled for, I didn’t hide, I just opted out of attending and found better things to do for the majority of the time." I acted offended at his accusation.
"Whatever you want to call it, point still stands." Damon chuckled "I’ll see it gets done. So, Jaylin, you think she’s the best choice?"
"She’ll do just fine as the new alpha. She’s confident and smart, the woman thinks critically. She knows how to act a dinner with a distinguished guest and play allyship with the so-called enemy. I watched her every action last night. Honestly, Odette is a magnet for people in my pack that need a good reminder of their place." I said casually.
"Oh, well, that’s good." He scoffed jokingly.
I laughed and we continued to eat. Until he started asking me questions about party planning.
And I realized I didn’t know a damn thing about party planning.
"We should include Odette in this, I bet she’s got vision and can plan better than me."
"You’re just trying to get out of doing it, you don’t fool me." Damon called bullshit on me.
"I’m serious, tell me I’m lying." I demanded, I wasn’t lying, there was just more to it than what I was admitting.
"Fine, go wake her then, disturb her sleep for a party you want to throw on a day where she’s going to fight an alpha." Damon poked at me, trying to guilt me.
"No, she’ll be fine, I’d be surprised if Jaylin got more than two hits. And that’s being generous." I said with sheer unshakable confidence.
"Really? You have that much faith?" Damon doubted me.
"Oh, I know. We all saw her burn Ezra alive. She’s capable of a lot more than what she shows the world. I can feel it. She’s going to put on a show for us tonight, but she won’t make a fool of the new alpha, so I’m willing to bet she’ll her punches at first, for a buildup. Jaylin will too, but as a wolf, I don’t think that will last long when she see’s Odette is doing too well."
"I want to take that bet. Magic allowed?" Damon asked.
"Yes, but I’ll tell her no fire magic. Can’t have her accidentally burning the new alpha on her coronation, can we?" I teased.
"No, we can’t. Alright, I’ll get started on this, now that I’m done eating, please wake our party planner, we’re going to need her help." Damon said pushing his chair out and rising from the table, taking his laptop with him.
I waved the servant over and asked her to prepare a breakfast and a mocha latte.
Anything for my little grumpy princess.
