I Turned Filthy Rich Just By Sleeping With Women?!-Chapter 109: Blood In Still Waters
Chapter 109: Blood In Still Waters
Zhao Yiming stepped into the reserved VVIP tea room with a cautious gait. The scent of incense lingered faintly, masking the damp aroma from the koi pond outside.
The room was elegant with redwood lattice screens filtered soft afternoon light across the polished floor. A carved tea table stood at the center, untouched.
However, he found no guests inside. He frowned.
"Damn it, a trap?" he murmured.
Before he could turn around, the door behind him clicked shut.
Then, he could see the system notification turned red, something he had never seen before and it widened his eyes:
---
[DING!]
[New Quest Triggered!]

[God of Richness & Love gives a message:]
[Careful my disciple, they are pros and dangerous! Keep alive alright?! I don’t have any entertainment anymore if you died!]
---
Zhao Yiming’s pupils narrowed. "Tch... I knew something stank."
He could feel something moving fast and getting close to him and from the side screen, a figure lunged without any warning moreover a bit of sounds. A glint of steel sliced toward his throat.
"Fuck!" he cursed.
He ducked low, twisting his shoulder, the blade grazing the collar of his jacket as it slashed air instead of flesh.
’He really hired professionals to kill me?! That bastard!’ he thought.
Before his mind could wander, a second man burst in through the paper screen near the koi pond. Another was already vaulting over the divider from the side terrace. There were three in total.
All dressed in plain black, no insignias. Professional. Coordinated.
"Fucking hell," he hissed. "You guys here to really kill me?! Su Jinhe hired all of you?"
But they didn’t answer at all. The first attacker swung again, his blade dancing toward Zhao’s ribs.
He sidestepped, grabbed the man’s wrist, and slammed his palm into the elbow joint with a sickening pop. The blade clattered to the floor.
"Arghhh!!!" the man screamed.
Zhao Yiming didn’t wait as he kicked the crippled man backward, right into the koi pond. Water splashed, and koi scattered in panic.
"Not bad," he said to the rest of the attackers who looked at each other.
The second man didn’t hesitate. He charged, low and fast, a dagger in each hand.
Zhao Yiming flipped the tea table to block the first stab, sending porcelain cups flying. He parried the second dagger with a chair leg he yanked free in a flash, but the third attacker was already behind him.
"What a fair fight," he said sarcastically.
A boot crashed into his back, sending him stumbling forward. His side slammed into the edge of the pond.
"Damn it!" he flinched because of the pain in his ribs, though his mind keep sharp.
He turned and barely blocked the next strike, catching the blade with his forearm and letting it graze his skin just to close the distance. He elbowed the man hard in the throat.
"Must be a bad day for assassins to meet someone like me," he growled, blood seeping down his arm.
The third assassin whistled sharply, signaling something. Another would be on the way.
"Shit," Zhao muttered. "I don’t have time for this."
He twisted the chair leg like a baton and swept the second man’s leg. As the attacker fell, Zhao grabbed him by the collar and threw him face-first into the koi pond, water erupting like a geyser.
Two down, but not out.
The third man, still dry and still fast, rushed him with a new knife. Zhao Yiming blocked it again, barely. But this time, he was getting tired. His breathing was heavy, his limbs a little slower.
Now they were back in the destroyed tea room. Looking at each other, waiting to strike.
Then, Su Meilin’s face flashed through his mind. Su Jinhe was crazy enough to hire assassins like this to kill him, he must have plan for her too.
And he knew it wasn’t a good one.
[System Alert: Timer Activated – Estimated Time Until Meilin is Taken: 00:06:47]
Zhao’s face twisted with rage. "Fuck it! Meilin will be my priority!"
He smashed the third attacker into the wall, ignoring the antique vase that shattered beside them. He kept smashing his head, blood smeared across the elegant screen like ink as the man stopped moving.
He stood as the last man standing. His breath was ragged as some part of his jacket tore and even bled. He took the jacket off as the room was now too quiet.
The koi pond rippled with bodies. One was crawling out, coughing up water. The other groaned nearby.
Zhao Yiming picked up the dagger as protection before he rushed outside, praying that Su Meilin was fine. Though, he knew she would since he had hired two bodyguards anyway, they would protect her.
"She is going to be fun, though, I hope that bastard won’t do something funny," he murmured, his steps were fast and firm.
***
The door clicked softly as Zhao Yiming stepped out, and the moment he was gone, the air in the room shifted.
Subtle, but undeniable.
Su Jinhe’s kind expression remained plastered on his face, but the warmth behind it vanished. His eyes scanned Meilin with something calculating and measuring.
"Sweetheart," he said smoothly, swirling his tea, "I know all of this has been hard on you. The past, the memories... But let’s not forget, family is family. And I’m doing this for our future. For your future."
Meilin didn’t answer right away. She flinched a bit when he said it that way, now she understood why he talked sweetly like the devil.
She was staring at the cup in her hand, unmoving. Her shoulders were no longer hunched. Her fingers no longer trembled. When she finally looked up, her eyes weren’t misty anymore.
They were cold.
"You’re here for the inheritance," Su Meilin said flatly.
Su Jinhe blinked, caught off guard for a moment, before chuckling softly. "What are you talking about? Meilin, that’s not—"
"Stop lying." Her voice cut through the room like a blade.
She slowly stood and walked over to Zhao Yiming’s bag, unzipping it and her hands emerged with the legal document meant to finally cut all familial ties.
She turned and slammed it on the table in front of him.
"Sign this."
