I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 192: Feast With Freyja and Her Husband (2)
I look at her and shake my head.
"No. This is the first time I hear about this."
Freyja smiles at me and says,
"Well, we have two beautiful children! A son and a daughter. Sadly, they would rather be like their father, a successful merchant and politician, rather than a fighter like me. Because of that, we sent them to the academy in the Central Continent."
Ah, the Gurtan Academy. Gurtan Academy is one of the world’s best and most well-known academies. It teaches its students how to be great merchants, how to be great politicians, and even teaches theology.
They might not teach magic and martial arts, but they are still one of the most powerful forces in the entire Central Continent.
Anyone who graduates from that place will guarantee success in their life. That’s right, even the commoner.
This academy accepts commoners who can pass the test. The tests between the commoners and nobles are different because they have different knowledge bases. When they pass the test, they will go through a very strict study, but when they graduate, they will be successful in life.
Rich merchants will take them as their accountants and advisors, nobles will take them as their stewards, and even some monarchs will take them as their accountants. That is how powerful Gurtan Academy’s reputation is.
Freyja’s children getting into this academy is something to be proud of. Even when they are children of nobles, they still need to pass the test like the others. Gurtan Academy did not accept stupid people, after all. They have a reputation to uphold.
Of course, there are a couple of exceptions, but to buy that exception, you need to be an heir to a powerful monarch who has an endless amount of wealth. The bribe can even buy you a kingdom. That is how much it needs to take to bribe your way inside this academy.
"That is impressive. How long until they graduate?"
"My oldest son will graduate in two years while my daughter will graduate in four years to five years, depending on her."
"Depending on her? Is she taking extra study?"
Freyja drinks all the wine in one go and releases a sigh. She looks at me and says,
"Yeah. She loves medicine and any medicine-related knowledge. Did you know that she wants to get back home and learn under you when she hears about you?"
"Really? I’m flattered."
"Yup. If not for us telling her that it will be wasting her time and our money to cut her study short, she will come back and beg you to take her as your disciple."
"I don’t think that my medical knowledge is great enough for her to beg to take her as my disciple."
I can hear Freyja, Vida, Silva, and Hilda snort at my words. I look at them in confusion and say.
"What?"
Vida wipes her mouth and gives me a smile.
"You are something else, Gwyn. You are a Grandmaster of Medicine. You have the prestige as the man who knows more about medicine than others. Not only that, I already see your title is not for show. You can make a potion that can grow someone’s limbs, a potion that can cure many diseases, and you can make something that can cure a disease that many older and more experienced healers cannot heal. A lot of people will kneel in front of you if only for them to be accepted as your disciples."
The others nod their heads in agreement at her words. Freyja lets the servant fill her glass and says.
"She is right, Gwyn. You are a great healer who knows more about the human body than anyone else. You are the person who can make potions to heal anything in the world. If you put a price on your teaching, I have a feeling that many people from other continents will come to you and buy your teaching."
"Lady Freyja is right, dear. Did you know that before we go to the Verlagan Kingdom, a group of people want to be your children? They are from the kingdom further south."
I look at Silva in shock and say.
"Really? Why didn’t I know about this?"
"Because the Good Father, Lord Cunningham, did not want you to know. He tells those people you cannot teach them, but he is willing to let them study under the student you teach on your Noble Duty. They even pay for it."
"Are you sure this is okay? What if they do not like the knowledge they get or are disappointed in the lack of knowledge even after they are paying."
Silva chuckles a little and says.
"I don’t think so, dear. Healing and medicine knowledge is precious, and a small bit of it already costs people a mountain of gold."
Even then, I feel bad about it. I think I will teach them a level one or level three healing spell once we return to Shadowfall City.
"Anyway, my daughter decided to stay in the academy, but I have a feeling that she will demand that I let her study under you."
I look at Freyja and say.
"I don’t mind. Tell her that she can come to Shadowfall City when she graduates, and I will take her as my student."
She looks at me for a few seconds before saying.
"Are you sure? This will be a promise, you know? You cannot take it back."
"I promise. Let her come to Shadowfall City, and I will teach her a lot of healing and medicine."
She laughs and raises her glass. Freyja has a large smile on her face.
"Then let’s have a toast! For my daughter’s future! As the student of the greatest healer in the entire world!"
We raise our glasses and have a toast.
=/Line Break/=
When I wake up, I look around and hold my head as a headache attacks my brain without mercy. I mutter a healing spell and feel the headache disappear. Thank god for the healing spell. I did not want to experience a hangover again.
On my birthday, when I was declared an adult, my father let me drink a lot of beer and wine. The next day is my worst day, and I have yet to awaken my talent. For almost half of the day, I cannot do anything productive.
That is how bad the hangover is, and I did not want to experience it once again.
I shake my head, carefully walk to the door to avoid stepping on the others still sleeping, and open the door. I can see a servant standing near the door. She quickly bows her head and says.
"My lord!"
"Shhh. The others are still asleep. Can you get some drinking water for me? You know what? Make it a barrel of drinking water. I have a feeling the others need it as well."
"Of course, my lord. I will bring the barrel of water."
I nod and see her run away somewhere. I think she is going to the kitchen. I shake my head and sit on the chair while waiting for the servant to return. While waiting, I can see Silva get up from the ground and clutching her head.
I smile a little, point my finger at her, and cast a healing spell to make her hangover go away. She blinks for a few seconds before turning her head toward me. She gives me a grateful smile and carefully walks toward me. She takes the chair next to me and says,
"How is it? Have a nice sleep?"
"I don’t know. My memory gets completely blank after a certain time."
"What is the last thing you remember?"
"We are having a drinking competition."
"Right. That. I never thought that Lord Bloch had that kind of alcohol tolerance."
Lord Bloch is a heavy drinker. He has an alcohol tolerance of a sailor who drinks rum as if it was water. Hell. Among us, Freyja is the first one to fall unconscious in our competitive drinking match.
Because of my talent, I’m the last one to stand in this drinking match and decide to move to the empty space of the room before going to sleep. The second runner is Lord Bloch, which is rather impressive.
"Urgh"
I snap from my thoughts when I see the others slowly waking up. The first one to get up is Freyja, followed by Jullian, Sonia, Jonathan, Vida, and finally Lord Bloch. I snap my finger and cast an area of healing spell to heal their hangover.
They look at me and walk to the chair. Freyja leans over her chair and looks at me.
"You are truly a blessing, Gwyn."
"Thank you."
We did not talk and only enjoyed our morning silence before Freyja suddenly said.
"Where are you going from now on?"
"Hmmm? I think we will walk around the city and search for souvenirs before returning to Shadowfall City."
Freyja looks at me and says,
"Then you guys can follow me. I know a place to buy some souvenirs."
