"And this is the biggest arena in the entire kingdom."

Hilda points at the massive building in front of us. It looks like the Colosseum in Rome in my previous life but bigger than the one on Earth.

"Each year, we will make a tourney. Many people register and try their hardest to get into the big eighteen because that is when nobles start to notice you and maybe promote you to be a knight. It is not yet noble, but you will get a small patch of land and an income for your family and you."

"Woah! Can we watch the tournament?!"

"Sadly, the last one just happened not too long ago."

"Awww, shuck."

Vida kicks the pebble under her and pouts at the news. I chuckle at her behavior. She likes to fight and is eager to show her might in the arena. She even has a rivalry with Freyja after the older lady manages to defeat her in one-on-one combat with nothing but their fist.

Freyja might not have Vida’s talent that can amplify her strength, but that Valkyrie has decades of experience under her belt, and combined with her strength that is on par with Jullian, she is a powerhouse that even Jullian has a hard time defeating when going all out.

"Anyway, while we do not have any tournament at the moment, we can wait until winter as my father will use this place for a festival for the Goddess of Light."

"What kind of festival? Is it like our Festival of Light?"

Right. Festival of Light is an annual festival that is celebrated at the end of fall before winter officially comes. It is a festival where the priests across the kingdom come and ask for blessings from the Goddess of Light.

This is the only thing that the priest needs to do without asking for compensation. For the next seven days, they need to go around the kingdom and bless every village and city in the kingdom.

When they did not want to do that, the Goddess would strike them down. There is this accident where seven priests died from being struck by lightning in the afternoon. The Gods and Goddesses in the world are more active than the ones in my previous world.

However, even with the threat of the Gods being angry at you, people still do stupid shit. Oh well. People will always be people. They either die from old age, doing something stupid, or being too horny.

"Our magician will create a device, and we will whisper our wishes into the device for the next three days. On the fourth day, we will make the device fly into the sky and blow it up. We are hoping that the gods will pick one of our wishes from the sky."

That is a weird festival, but again, all festivals are always weird to the same degree. Oh well. I cannot do anything about it.

"Anyway, there will be a party across the city after that. People will dance, sing, and drink at the same time, enjoying the day. It is a fun festival!"

Seeing Hilda smiling like that, I know that the festival will be fun.

"Let’s go to the other building! I have a feeling you will like this one even more!"

We walked for ten minutes before arriving in front of a three-story building. By the look and smell of it, this one is a restaurant.

"This is a Rainbow Fish Restaurant! It is the best restaurant in the entire world, in my opinion. It serves the best seafood and the best meat you will ever taste. Come on, let’s get inside."

When we got inside, the people looked at us, and quickly, the waitress and the other worker created a line on our side. They bow as one and say.

"Welcome, Princess!"

Hilda nods her head and says.

"Prepare a private room for me and my guests. Serve us your best food."

The last man from the second floor arrived before us and bowed.

"Of course, your highness! We will serve you and your guests the best food we have. Please follow me to your room."

We follow the man wearing some fancy clothes to the third floor. I guess the man in front of us is the manager of this store or maybe the owner if this is the only store in the kingdom. After walking for a minute, we are inside a massive room with a massive round table in the middle of it.

While waiting for the food to arrive, I look at Vida and say,

"How is the diplomat, Vida? Are they done talking with the king?"

Vida looks at me and shakes her head.

"Nope. They are still talking, but I think they might come to an agreement somewhere this evening or tomorrow morning. After that, they will send a letter to my brother, and we can explore the kingdom."

"I see. That is good. Your kingdom is great, Hilda. However, I want to see my parents and little sister in the Shadowfall City."

Hilda shakes her head and says.

"Don’t worry about it, Gwyn. We have already been here for three days, and I think that should be enough. We can return here after visiting Shadowfall City."

"Thank you, Hilda, for your understanding. I will ensure we get back here after three days in Shadowfall."

Hilda gives me a bright smile, and we continue to wait for our food.

It takes them ten minutes before the first batch of food arrives. A lot of servers walk inside the room with a tray of food in their hands. They put the first plate down and opened it up. I can see a massive fish in the middle of the plate.

"This is Giant Yellowtail Fish soaked inside our special sauce for three days before getting fried to perfection."

The second plate on the table is a whole hog barbeque.

"This is a Smoked Whole Hog. We can serve you as it is, or we can serve you this hog in between a pillowy bread. We have three types of sauce for the hog. We have a sweet and sour sauce, hot and sour sauce, or just pure heat sauce."

The server takes a knife and says.

"Shall I carve?"

Hilda nods her head, and we watch as the server carefully carves the hog before putting them on smaller plates that the other server places near the bigger one. After a minute of carving, the third server came inside the room with a basket full of bread for us to eat.

"Please enjoy the food, Your Highness the Princess and honored guests."

After they left the room, we started to eat the food. I decided to taste the fish first. The fish is great. It is not what I thought it was. The meat is tender and juicy, but the sauce is something that caught me off guard.

I thought it was a sweet and sour sauce from a Chinese restaurant, but it was not. It is spicy and salty. It will be great with a small amount of lemon juice, just a small squish of lemon. That will be fantastic.

After eating some of the fish, I take some of the hog. First, I taste it without the sauce or with the bread. I chew them and swallow them easily. It is tender and juicy but has a subtle taste, unlike the fish, which is a flavor bomb.

I taste the sauces one by one and like the third one best, the pure heat. It is not pure heat; they have a subtle sweetness. It is great. The sweet and sour sauce is too sweet for me, and the hot and sour sauce is a bit meh.

After tasting all the sauces, I take the bread, slice it from the side of the bread, stuff some meat and fish inside of it, and smear some of the heat on the sauce. I just made a sandwich. It is just a shame there are no vegetables or at least a tomato to add some freshness to the sandwich.

Oh well.

I eat the sandwich and look at Hilda.

"Hilda, where should we go after this?"

She swallows the fish and says.

"I think we should go and visit Freyja. What do you think? That woman asked me to go to her house every time she sees me."

"Eh? Why doesn’t she ask me directly?"

"It will be inappropriate, Gwyn. A married woman asking a man to come to her house is like asking a gigolo to fuck her at night."

"Right... Anyway, sure. We can visit her house. I just know what kind of gift I can give to her."

Freyja likes to drink, and I have a lot of wine from Second Life lying around. I like drinking but do not drink every day like other people. I like to drink when we are celebrating something. Because of that, there is still a lot of delicious wine inside my pocket dimension.
