I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 139: Aftermath
"Please, cure us! We will do anything we can to compensate you!"
And there he goes bowing again. I can only sigh and say.
"Please raise your head, my lord. You don’t need to worry. This is an easy healing."
"However, can I ask how the other healer did not notice the poison?"
"Because it was a special poison."
My passive skill [Salomo’s Wisdom] already informs me what kind of poison it is and already offers me a solution for it. A mid-level cleansing spell should do the job. That alone shows just how powerful this poison is because I need a level ninety or above cleansing spell.
It might be a mid-level cleansing spell, but that is already high enough to warrant an investigation.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, it was not deadly because you are still alive even after eating them every day for the past two decades. However, this poison switches its deadliness for the effect of not being able to be detected by any spell or test."
The only reason I can detect the poison is because of the bullshit game logic that tells me if someone has a debuff like [Poison], [Burn], [Frozen], etc.
"Anyway, I can easily cure your poison. Do you want to do it now?"
"Yes, please."
I look at the king and see him once again nod. With his permission, I let my Starglobe spin and cast a spell.
"[Canis Major: Sirius]"
A star pattern appears above the couple, and I can see their body glow a little. After a few seconds, their body looks more lively than before. Before, their complexion was a little bit pale, but now it has more color.
They look a little bit healthier than before. I cast another [Stats Scan] and nod when I see they are doing great.
"The poison is already gone, and you two are healthy. There should be no more problems for the two of you getting a child."
I yelp in surprise when the woman, Anahita, hugs me tightly.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you"
I can only smile awkwardly as the entire room is looking at us now. The king and Queen smile at my little show, but what makes me shudder is the intense eyes the royal healer throws at me. He looks at me as if I’m the greatest mystery he has ever encountered and wants to dissect me to see what secret is inside my body.
He is really obsessed with healing spells.
I shake my head and gently push back the woman away from me.
"It is not a problem, my lady. I’m happy to help."
"If there is anything we can do, please call us. We will give it to you."
"I think we can talk about compensation later in private."
I cannot just say that I did not do anything to them because it can be seen as an insult. It is like saying that they cannot afford me or something. I also cannot say my price because that will be the base of the price of my service, and it will open a flood that I do not want to open at the moment.
So, for now, I did not want to say my price, but I also did not want to insult the noble in this place openly. Tch. Politics is hard and troublesome. Why can’t they be to the point and be direct? Urgh. I miss the South and their directness.
"Of course. We will talk later. Please tell me where you are staying and when we can meet."
I hold a sigh because now I know they will seek me, and now I cannot slowly fade away into the crowd. Damn.
"We are staying in the palace. We are a guest to his highness, and staying in the inn after he offers us a room will be impolite."
Lord Rezghi nods his head and walks forward.
"Then we will return tomorrow morning to discuss the compensation. Thank you so much for your help, Grandmaster Gwyndolin. We will remember this favor and will return it tenfold. However, we need to depart for now because we need to catch a rat or maybe a group of them. May the Sun shine warmly on you for the rest of your life, Grandmaster Gwyndolin."
After saying that, the two of them leave the room. Before they leave, I see their expression change from thankful and hopeful to cold fury. It looks like the news of someone poisoning them is finally reaching their mind, and they are now on the move to search for the one poisoning them.
I shrug and decide to continue to enjoy the feast while occasionally answering the question the other nobles and merchants ask me.
=//=
I release a sigh and lean over the couch. The feast is finally over, and now I can relax a little. The room that the king prepared for us is not a room but rather a building near the palace. The building is two floors with five bedrooms, one bathhouse, and one massive kitchen.
We are currently inside the main bedroom, where there is a massive bedroom that can fit seven to nine people. Because of the request from the girls, Sonia, Hilda, Silva, and I will take the master bedroom together while Jonathan will take the room on our left and Jullian take the room on our right.
"It was supposed to be a party, not a noble meet and greet. What an exhausting party."
"Hahaha~ If it is a party like the Southern people, they will think that we are a possessed demon, dear."
I open my eyes and see Silva pouring tea for me. I give her a smile and take a sip of the tea.
"I already regret coming to this feast, you know? I guess it is my Southern Blood that is screaming at me to get out of that place and run back to the Shadowfall. I start to agree with it. I think we need to go low for a few days so the other nobles and merchants leave the city."
I don’t want others to surround us and ask for healing. I don’t mind healing them, but at the same time, I want my peace, goddammit! I come here to have a vacation and have some adventure. We only have a year to do so before my father lets me do a lordy job.
I like healing but on my own terms and not the terms of the people who think they are more important than my peaceful time.
"Hmmm, you are right. I think we need to leave early in the morning."
"No, I can’t do it. I already gave my word to Lord Rezghi that we will wait for him in the morning."
"You are right. Hmmm, how about in the evening? Or worse, we will spend most of our day in the palace."
I release a sigh and say.
"It looks like we did not have any choice but to stay in the palace for the entire day. Lucky for us, we have a few ways to spend our day."
I put some of the medical herbs we bought from Ulian City on the table.
"Experimenting for Sonia and me while you and Hilda will go and train with Jonathan and Jullian."
Silva nods her head in understanding. She wants to train and increase her stats, and the two training maniacs will be perfect teachers for her. Jullian will be the teacher who teaches her how to use a sword, while Jullian will be the one teaching her how to use her bow and arrow better.
"That is a good plan. I think I can start after Lord Rezghi comes, huh?"
"That is the plan in my mind, yes."
"That is good. Anyway, what kind of experiment do you want to do with all those herbs? Some of them are poisonous, right?"
"Hmmm, it depends. I managed to buy a book about all the plants, and we will start experimenting after reading them."
The book in this place is too damn expensive. Because of the spread of paper in the Gipan Kingdom, book prices have decreased, but here? They get increased because it is still made of parchment and the need for them to write it by hand.
Because of Catharina’s contribution, we have a printing press, and books are starting to spread because it is easy to mass-produce books. It is still on the expensive side of things, but now even a slightly richer commoner can buy books.
*Knock* *Knock*
I snap from my thoughts when I hear someone knocking on the door. I get up and wonder who it is. Sonia and Hilda will not knock, and Jonathan and Jullian decide to have a night spar with each other, and they will last for another hour or two. Oh well.
I walk to the door and open it up. When I open the door, I can see the king and the queen standing behind the door with a smile on their face.
"I’m sorry to disturb you, but can we get inside?"
