Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Marriage

I smile at the sight in front of me as I wait for someone, someone special.

Today is a special day for me. It has been three months since the day the Gipan Kingdom went to war against the Gokuya Kingdom, and a lot of things have happened. The first thing is the execution of a con artist, the biggest in the Southern Continent.

That con artist is the one who whispers to Nathaniel to kill his parents so he can be the one controlling the young lord to take over the treasure of Blackmore City. I read his journal, and it was disgusting.

Not only is he a con artist who scammed young impressionable nobles, but he is also a slave trader. He kidnapped and sold many people, mostly the Northern Citizens, but he also sold some of the Southern People to the other continent where Slavery was not only legal but also encouraged.

I don’t know how he is still alive and free, but it looks like he has many connections in the underworld, the criminal world of this Continent.

However, after knowing his criminal record, my father quickly does a public execution and gives the Jiran family some face by not mentioning that Nathaniel is an attempted kin slaying. All of the blame is now on this man’s shoulder.

That includes an attempted murder of a Noble Lord and the murder of a noble heir. One of them alone will send someone to the gallow but when two of them at once? Well, the rules say that it was an immediate execution, but the reality is that many noble lords and ladies will torture them first before executing them.

Anyway, that man is executed by the chopping block.

The next thing that happened in the past three months was the monster’s wave. There are two more big monster waves that come from the Gokuya Kingdom. However, we can stop it before they can even reach Shadowfall City.

They are stopped in the Dawn Fortress; the biggest one is about ten thousand monsters. Another Void Crack is happening in the Northern part of the Gokuya Kingdom, and now they are taking the remnant of a monster in the Northern part of the Gokuya Kingdom.

Because there are no more living beings in the Northern part of the Gokuya Kingdom, the monsters decide to migrate further to the Gipan Kingdom.

Luckily, only a few died in battle, and that is because the captain went too deep into the monster, which resulted in casualties. My father demoted the captain, who surprisingly accepted his fate and even personally bowed to the family who lost their loved one.

I’m glad that I’m born into this family.

I snap from my thoughts when I see a beautiful woman walk into the room wearing a pure white dress that flows to the floor. I can see my little sister, Rachel, holding a basket of flowers and throwing them around as Silva and her walk to the ceremonial ground. This woman is Silvanna, my wife.

Today is my marriage ceremony. That’s right. After two months of ’dating,’ I decided that Silva was the perfect woman to spend the rest of my life with. My mother screams in joy and quickly declares that she will prepare for the ceremony.

My smile gets bigger when Silva arrives next to me. I look her right in the eyes and say.

"You are beautiful."

"You are also handsome. Your smiling training paid off."

Right, that. After knowing that I would be marrying Silva, my mother and sister decided to continue my smile training and boy, it was tough training. Not because the training is hard or anything but because looking like I’m smiling normally is hard, especially when the two ask me to smile naturally.

I have a villain face, goddammit! I cannot smile like a saint. Blame Father, not me.

I decided to throw that memory away and focus on what was in front of me.

Silva is beautiful. If there is an angel, she must be one. Her dress hugged her body tightly and showed her beautiful body to the world. Her hair is now tied into a crown braid and low bun. How do I know this? Blame my sister. She teaches (forces) me how to tie her hair with the help of the maid for some reason. I don’t mind because I can spend time with her.

My sister stops throwing flowers as she joins my parents, who are standing on my right side. Silva walked to my side, and we both looked at the priest in front of us.

"To whom do I speak?"

I nod and say.

"My name is Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham."

"And what is the reason you come here?"

"To take this beautiful woman as my long-life partner."

"And who is this woman?"

Silva nod and says.

"My name is Silvanna Baxter."

"Are you coming here willingly in your soul and mind?"

"Yes, Holy Father."

"Very well! Let’s start the ceremony!"

I can see the priest praying for a minute before a ray of light suddenly comes from the ceiling and surrounds the three of us.

"Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham and Silvanna Baxter, have you come here to enter into marriage without coercion, freely, and wholeheartedly?"

The two of us nod and say together.

"Yes"

"Are you prepared, as you follow the path of marriage, to love and honor each other for as long

as you both shall live?"

"I am"

The two of us answer at the same time.

"Since it is your intention to enter the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your hands, and

declare your consent before the Gods."

I turn to Silva and see her smiling. I grab her hands, and we hold it together.

"I, Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham, take you, Silvanna Baxter, to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life."

I declare my oath and can see my entire body glow a little.

"I, Silvanna Baxter, take you, Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham, to be my husband. I promise to be faithful to you, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life."

Like me, Silvanna glowed, and seeing us glowing, the priest nodded.

"May the Gods, in their kindness, strengthen the consent you have declared before the Holy Sanctuary and graciously bring his blessings within you to fulfillment. What Gods have joined, let no one put asunder."

After he says that, both of our fathers walk forward with a small box. They walk to the priest and kneel next to him. The two of them open the box and reveal a beautiful diamond ring. It was the best pair of rings I have inside my guild vault.

Not only beautiful, but that ring also has many enchantments, a high-ranking one. Second Life has a marriage system. It was like a guild system but for only a pair of players. It was very popular with a married couple who liked relaxing gameplay. However, there is one thing that this system has the upper hand on.

A Lover-Only item like the rings inside that box.

When you are married in-game, you will get a new accessories slot for the ring. You can farm or craft the ring to increase your stats. The only downside is that if you choose this system, you will lose a few events that only the guild can enter, and the reward of just participating in that event is great.

Anyway, those rings have effects that reduce any physical and magical attack received by 10% and increase resistance to any elemental effect by 30%.

That ten percent flat increase is great because the system will cut the damage ten percent first before adding more defenses the player has. That resistance alone is great. Just like the first one, a flat-out increase like that is great.

I snap from my thoughts and see the priest place his hands on top of the rings.

"Bless! Bless! Bless! I come here in the Holy Sanctuary to ask the Gods to bless these rings! I come and ask Goddess Alena! The Goddess of Light and Creation! To bless these rings in your name so that those who wear them are blessed with happiness and greatness!"

I blink for a second when I see a white ball of light appear above us and get inside the rings. I can see the priest’s shock for a second before his smile gets bigger. I know this phenomenon. I read this when I read a book about the history of magic and blessing.

They are a blessing directly given by the gods, or at least that is what the books said.

I decide to push my curious mind to the back and pick up the ring when my father turns the box to me.

I pick up the ring and turn to Silva. I take her left hand and say.

"Silva Baxter, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of Goddess of Light and Creation."

I put the ring on her ring finger. I can see her holding back her tears at the sight of the ring. I give her an encouraging smile. She nods a little and picks up the ring in her father’s hand.

"Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of Goddess of Light and Creation."

She put the ring on my ring finger. I smile at her, and we can hear the priest continue with the ceremony.

"Now let us humbly invoke Gods’ blessing upon this bride and groom, that in their kindness they

may favor with their help those on whom they have bestowed the Sacrament of Matrimony. I now pronounce you husband and wife in the sight of the Gods and these witnesses! You may now kiss!"

I put my hands around her waist, and she put hers around my neck. We look at each other for a second before our lips touch each other. It is as if the world is gone, and now only Silva is the only person in front of me.

Whoever reincarnated me into this world... Thank you. Thank you so much for giving me a second chance in life and letting me meet Silva.
