I Transmigrated Into A Fantasy World To Farm And Build Houses!-Chapter 162: Is It Successful or Not?
Eric didn’t know how long he had been listening like that.
He only felt his consciousness gradually drift from his body, light and free. A pleasant, vibrating sensation emanated from deep within his soul.
A warm current spread from his chest to his limbs. He was clearly closing his eyes, and it should have been pitch black in front of him, but his world suddenly lit up.
It was a mystical space, illuminated by countless motes of light, like a swarm of multi-colored fireflies. They flew around, trailing sparkling streaks of light, so beautiful it seemed unreal.
Eric almost thought he had fallen asleep and this was just a dream. He could even sense the "personality" of each type of "firefly."
The blue motes were gentle and profound, sometimes as soft as morning dew, other times surging violently like ocean waves, full of change and mystery.
The red motes were like passionate flames, dancing brilliantly and proudly.
The nearly transparent motes were unrestrained and free, brazenly passing through the other motes, unbound by anything.
The grayish-brown motes were steady and firm. They quietly landed on Eric, stable and serene, not jumping around wildly like their friends.
The green motes were nimble and full of life, actively playing and hopping around.
And there were also white and black motes, one side warm as the morning sun, the other silent and cold.
Eric gradually realized these were probably the magical elements. But Evan had said that a person with talent for a specific system would attract the elements of that system.
What was this situation? He looked at the motes, confused. Could it be that the Earth element was closer to him? It kept landing on him.
But as soon as this thought emerged, the motes from the other systems immediately rushed toward him, surrounding him intimately. Eric could clearly feel the joy and welcome from them.
"Heavens, what on earth is happening..." Too bewildered, he unconsciously muttered aloud.
The dream-like, mystical space instantly shattered. Eric snapped back to reality from his meditative state.
"Huh? Leo? Evan?" He was startled to realize the room was pitch dark, and the two people who were here earlier had disappeared. Had he really fallen asleep, all the way until midnight?
Eric doubtfully tried to stand up to find them. But his legs had been crossed for too long. The moment he moved, a numbing jolt ran up his spine, and tens of thousands of invisible needles pricked his legs simultaneously, causing him to buckle.
"Careful." A deep, familiar voice sounded by his ear, and a pair of large, strong hands steadily caught him.
"Max?" Before Eric could be surprised by his appearance, he had to grimace and massage his stiff, numb legs.
No wonder mages all meditate lying down; that posture doesn’t easily lead to numb legs. How wise!
Max sat down, using his large, powerful hands to massage Eric’s legs. Soon, the numbness subsided significantly. Eric stretched his legs straight, only then turning his head to ask:
"Why are you here? Where are Leo and Evan?" He only just realized that Max had probably been sitting silently beside him the entire time.
"They went to dinner. Evan said it was best not to disturb you. I wasn’t at ease, so I came over to check." Max replied concisely.
So... just now wasn’t a dream!
Eric jumped up in excitement, saying to Max: "I really entered a meditative state! I thought I was dreaming! It turns out being weak has its advantages!"
Max just sighed, a complicated sound, and his large hand rubbed Eric’s head: "I brought you food. It’s heating on the stove. Hurry up and eat."
Eric touched his stomach; sure enough, it was rumbling like a war drum: "That’s strange, I remember I just ate until I was full..."
Max, who was looking for chopsticks for him, paused upon hearing this: "It’s dark already, of course you’re hungry. You’ve been meditating all afternoon."
"That long? I clearly felt like it was only a few minutes!" Eric was endlessly amazed.
"You are very talented," Max said. "Just now, your whole body was glowing."
He recounted that when he went to the cafeteria, he met Evan and Leo. It was Evan who said Eric was in a rare meditative state and shouldn’t be disturbed. Max didn’t feel at ease, so he went in to see for himself.
He had seen Eric sitting silently, his entire body enveloped in a soft, multicolored halo of light. It wasn’t until Eric woke up on his own that the halo dissipated, a part of it retreating into his body.
Hearing this, Eric grew even more curious: "You said I was glowing? What did it look like?"
Max nodded: "Like a rainbow, all sorts of colors, flying around you."
Doesn’t that make me look like a disco ball?
It was a pity he couldn’t witness it himself. In any case, after this meditation, aside from his numb legs, his body felt refreshed and full of energy, as if he had just had a deep sleep.
Not long after, Evan returned with Leo.
"Brother, you’re awake!" Leo happily threw himself into his arms.
Eric caught the kid, then looked up at Evan, his eyes full of anticipation: "Me... does this count as successful meditation?"
Evan looked at him with great interest: "You are indeed not rejected by the magical elements."
That teasing tone again!
Eric choked, asking indignantly: "So, is it successful or not?"
"A talented person will attract magical elements when meditating." Evan sat down, explaining leisurely: "But to become a mage, the most important thing is to sense the element closest to you, and from there, focus on cultivating that system’s magic. The stronger the talent, the purer the sensed element, and the greater the power of the magic cast later on."
Eric felt bewildered after hearing this: "But... I couldn’t find a ’closest’ system. All the elemental systems were surrounding me..."
And they even landed on me. He couldn’t distinguish which one was the most intimate.
He felt disappointed. Could this be the difference in talent? He didn’t have one system strong enough to overwhelm the others.
Damn it, I want to become stronger too!
