I Transmigrated Into A Fantasy World To Farm And Build Houses!-Chapter 148: Healing Magic
The tall forge, indispensable in a Dwarf tribe, had also been cut in half by the magical beast. The remaining half lay toppled on the ground, and more than ten Dwarves were using ropes to try and pull it up.
"Julia, a little more strength! And you all, one, two, pull hard!"
Chief Henry saw that the guests had already started helping, so he stopped being polite and began directing his tribesmen to work.
Eric was drawn by their voices. More than ten Dwarves, looking like a string of grey potatoes, gripped the rope tightly, straining. Leading them was a female Dwarf.
The Dwarves shouted a chant and pulled together, veins bulging on their foreheads and the backs of their hands.
The half of the forge on the ground was slowly pulled up, but they just couldn’t lift it onto the base on the ground.
The female Dwarf in the lead, Julia, gritted her teeth, her palms bleeding:
"Almost there, everyone, a little more strength! We need a few more people!"
Several Dwarves, both male and female, immediately jumped down from the nearby ruined walls and hurried over to grab the rope from behind.
"One, two, pull hard!"
Eric reached out and tugged on Evan’s sleeve:
"Let’s go help too!"
After speaking, he took the lead, ran to the back of the rope, grabbed it, and pulled along with the Dwarves.
Evan looked down at the spot Eric had just tugged, smiled, and followed.
With everyone working together, the forge was finally pulled upright. But to repair it to its original state, it still needed to be pulled up onto the cross-section, which was quite strenuous.
A Dwarf had already placed an iron plate on the cross-section. Everyone still needed to pull the upper part of the forge up along the iron plate.
"Let me."
Max had been on the other side of the tribe, setting a collapsed roof back in place and helping repair houses. Hearing the commotion here, he walked over and spoke to the Dwarf who was placing the iron plate.
"Max is here! He’s incredibly strong; we don’t need to pull anymore!"
Seeing this, Eric happily introduced him to the surrounding Dwarves.
The group of Dwarves pulling the rope slowly let go. They had witnessed the strength of Beastmen before; the Ox-Head Tribe had helped a lot when they first moved here.
It took more than ten Dwarves combined to barely move the forge, yet in Max’s hands, it became light. He bent down slightly, wrapped his arms around the forge, lifted it, and placed it on the other half, even aligning it with the crack.
Next, the Dwarves needed to repair it themselves. This part, they couldn’t help with.
Seeing this scene, the Dwarves all cheered joyfully, forming a circle to celebrate.
The surrounding ruined walls no longer mattered at this moment. For the Dwarf race, surviving in the cracks between dangers, just seeing a glimmer of hope was enough to make them rejoice.
The Dwarves celebrated, singing happily. Julia calmly used snow from the ground to wipe the blood from her hands, stemming the bleeding, and smiled at Eric.
"Little cub, you all have done us a great service. After we finish cleaning this up, I’ll bake bread for you. I’m the best bread baker in the tribe!"
Good bread! Eric’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Julia, surprised to find that this female Dwarf was no longer young; her hair was already white.
"Thank you, ma’am. I actually didn’t help much..."
Eric scratched his head in embarrassment.
Chief Henry patted Julia’s shoulder and said to the group with a laugh:
"This is my wife, Julia. She is the Dwarf with the greatest strength and the best forging skills in our tribe."
Underneath his white beard, Chief Henry’s proud expression could not be hidden.
So impressive. You really can’t judge a book by its cover. Julia looked so gentle and even had such an amiable smile, yet she was a master forger.
No wonder she was rushing to the front just now. Eric’s gaze toward Julia held even more admiration.
"I know a little magic. I saw your hand was injured just now. Let me help you treat it."
Evan looked at Julia’s hands and spoke politely.
"This young man is truly handsome. But you don’t seem to be a Beastman, more like a human?"
Julia first praised Evan, then looked him up and down once, asking uncertainly.
Even without judging by appearance, just knowing magic was enough to confirm he wasn’t a Beastman. After all, Beastmen were immune to magic.
Eric, worried it would be difficult for Evan to answer, chimed in:
"He’s someone we rescued. His name is Evan."
A human appeared here? Julia and Chief Henry glanced at each other, both a little surprised.
But they had lived in the human world before and understood human power struggles very well. Humans could be unscrupulous even towards their own kind; nothing they did was strange.
Looking at this young man’s appearance and bearing, both were extraordinary. He was definitely not an ordinary person. It wasn’t strange for him to encounter such a thing.
His luck was good enough to be saved by the Snow Wolves. Otherwise, an ordinary person thrown here would only meet death.
Thinking of this, Julia’s gaze toward Evan became sympathetic:
"A pity for such a handsome young man. But it’s good here too. At least there aren’t many bad-hearted people over here. Don’t listen to what humans say about Beastmen; they are actually much better than most humans. They’re all warm-hearted people!"
As soon as her words fell, Evan smiled and nodded slightly, saying:
"Indeed. I am very grateful to them for saving me."
Julia smiled gently, looked at her palm, and asked curiously:
"Do you really know magic? And healing magic, at that?"
Mages required enormous financial resources to support, so the number of mages in human nations was less than one-tenth that of warriors.
"Yes, but my magic power hasn’t recovered, so the healing effect will be a bit weaker. Moreover, it can only treat external wounds."
Evan prepared to cast a spell on Julia’s wound.
Julia quickly pulled her hand back:
"This small wound of mine is nothing, don’t waste your magic power. If possible, could you treat little An?"
Speaking of this, she looked worriedly toward Aiden’s house:
"The one-eyed bear attacked Aiden’s house first. Poor little An was snatched up by it. If Aiden hadn’t managed to stab the one-eyed bear’s eye with a long spear in time, I’m afraid she would have been eaten."
"The one-eyed bear was attacked, tossed An aside, and left the tribe to chase Aiden’s group. If the eaves hadn’t broken her fall a little, little An would have been thrown straight to the ground. It would have been hard to keep her life."
Chief Henry said with a sigh.
Eric’s heart tightened:
"So how is she now? I remember you said just now she injured her head, right?"
Chief Henry pointed toward Aiden’s house:
"An was hit in the head by a wooden beam from the roof. Her mother has already taken her to hide in the cellar."
Julia grasped Evan’s hand tightly:
"Could you treat little An a bit? She’s still young, and her head was broken open. She was in so much pain she couldn’t stop crying..."
