I, the Villain, Want to Save Myself, But the Yandere Heroines Disagree-Chapter 101 - The Problem Seems Quite Significant (2/3)
Subsequently, a troop equipped with splendidly elaborate gear appeared in the forest.
They surrounded a man as they emerged.
Everyone turned to look.
The man being surrounded was an imposing middle-aged man.
Orson recognized him. He was Landon, the commander of the Imperial Capital Garrison, and also an Empire’s Tier 8 knight.
Landon frowned as he walked forward, scanned everyone present, and then saw Mudrick’s corpse lying on the ground.

Upon seeing Mudrick’s grotesque skin, he revealed a surprised expression.
Time rewinds to the moment Mudrick had just consumed the potion and demonized.
Litte, worried that Mudrick might harm everyone, had ordered her subordinates to quickly return to the city and lead the guards here.
Although this incident initially started as a private feud, it had now far exceeded the nature of a mere personal dispute.
Subsequently, the subordinates ran to the city gate and reported the information about a demon appearing outside the city.
Initially, the soldiers didn’t believe the news upon hearing it, but seeing the terrified look on the messenger’s face, and their willingness to swear on their lives, they had no choice but to believe them.
After all, matters involving demons were no joke. Making a false report would result in severe punishment.
Subsequently, the garrison soldiers reported this news up through the ranks.
Finally, it reached the ears of Garrison Commander Landon.
Landon, having lived for forty or fifty years, last heard the term ‘demon’ during his childhood. Back then, it was said that beyond the beastmen-inhabited desert, to the east of the continent, there were various strange races who would come to the Empire via the desert trade routes or sea lanes.
Among those strange races, the demon race was undoubtedly the most ferocious.
They possessed naturally powerful bloodlines, but due to their inherently aggressive and irritable nature, they found it difficult to adapt to communal living. Consequently, they were universally discriminated against by other races on the Eastern Continent and could only live in harsh, desolate wilderness areas, their numbers dwindling year by year.
In fact, in the early years of the Empire, it had once been invaded by demons. At that time, a hero named Kyle emerged in the Empire. He led his companions to storm the Demon King’s castle, slew the Demon King, and drove out or exterminated all remaining demons from the Western Continent.
After that, demons, having caused immense harm to humanity, became a species banned from entering the Empire. If any demon was discovered within the Empire, they were to be killed on sight.
“What happened here?” Saying this, Landon looked towards Orson and the others.
Orson had just helped Virgil up and given him a potion. Hearing Landon’s question, he simply shrugged.
“I don’t know what happened either,” Orson said, looking towards Litte and Lion.
“Perhaps asking these two would be better.”
“Forget it.” Landon waved his hand dismissively. “Everyone, let’s return to the Imperial Capital first, and we can discuss this slowly.”
Subsequently, several soldiers stepped forward, moved Mudrick’s body onto a carriage waiting on the road outside the forest, and covered it with a cloth.
Landon walked up to the group and pointed towards the carriage outside.
“Everyone, please get into the carriage first.”
“Alright.” Orson nodded politely upon hearing this.
Next, the group boarded the carriage heading back to the city.

Meanwhile, in Constan City.
Constan City was a satellite city near Saint Roland City, small in scale with a population not exceeding fifty thousand. The city mayor was a baron under the Emperor.
The Doctor whistled as he strolled through the streets of Constan City, seeming quite cheerful.
He had now changed from his white suit into a doctor’s white coat, carrying a medical kit in his hand, looking quite professional.
He had just accepted a quest from the city’s Adventurers’ Guild notice board.
Recently, Baron Trist, the city’s baron, had been feeling unwell, suffering from persistent headaches that wouldn’t go away no matter who he consulted. Even summoning the city’s priest only provided temporary relief.
Thus, Trist had posted a quest at the Adventurers’ Guild: a reward of one thousand gold coins for anyone with some medical knowledge who could cure his headaches.
And so, the Doctor had accepted this quest.
After rushing for about half an hour, the Doctor appeared before the Baron’s mansion.
The soldiers guarding the main gate saw the Doctor approaching and stopped him.
“Who goes there?!” the soldier questioned.
“Ah, good sir, I was sent by the Adventurers’ Guild.” Saying this, the Doctor took out the quest form he had accepted from the Adventurers’ Guild.
“Please take a look at this.”
The soldier glanced at the quest form in the Doctor’s hand, carefully checked for the Adventurers’ Guild seal, then nodded.
“Understood, I will go inform him.”
Subsequently, the soldier turned and walked into the mansion. A minute later, he came back out.
“Lord Trist has agreed. You may enter.” The soldier said this, then led the Doctor towards the Baron’s mansion.
Entering the living room, a young man with deathly pale skin and an extremely thin frame sat on the main seat. He was currently supporting his head with one hand, his expression unpleasant, seemingly enduring some pain.
“You are the doctor who came to treat me?” Trist said this, opening his eyes to look at the Doctor.
“Yes.” The Doctor bowed respectfully. “Lord Trist, I have travelled far and wide practicing medicine for ten years now, and I have some experience with difficult and unusual illnesses. Regarding your Lordship’s condition, I believe I can offer some assistance.”
“Alright.” Trist nodded finally after scrutinizing the Doctor for a long time. “Well, let’s go inside first.”
Saying this, he supported himself with the armrest, stood up, and walked towards the inner room.
Hearing this, the Doctor nodded and followed behind him.
“Lord Trist, the Baron’s mansion is such a large place, I don’t seem to see many servants employed?”
“Ah...” Trist paused upon hearing this, then said, “I prefer quiet. After my father passed away a year ago, the servants hired by the family are all hourly workers. They leave as soon as they finish their work.”
“Oh, unlike other nobles, you don’t treat servants as your personal property.” The Doctor said this with a smile.
“Hehe.” Trist just chuckled, saying nothing more.
“By the way, Lord Trist, you look to be almost thirty, do you not have a wife at home?”
Hearing this, Trist stopped in his tracks, turned around, and looked at the Doctor.
As if triggered by something, his tone became somewhat stiff.
“You’re a doctor, not here to investigate my family background, are you?”
“Ah, apologies, that was presumptuous of me.” The Doctor said this, quickly bowing his head towards Trist. “It’s just that, when I used to practice medicine, I was accustomed to finding the cause of a patient’s illness from their previous lifestyle. If this matter offended you deeply, I apologize.”
“...It’s fine.” Seeing the Doctor’s sincerity, Trist just shook his head, saying nothing more. “For certain reasons, I did not marry.”
Subsequently, the two went upstairs to the second floor, to Trist’s bedroom.
“Let’s chat here first then. It wasn’t convenient downstairs just now, and my body isn’t feeling too well right now.” Trist said this, lying down on the bed and gesturing for the Doctor to sit.
The Doctor nodded, then closed the door and sat down in the guest seat.
“Please tell me about your symptoms, roughly when did they start?”
“Alright...” Trist nodded upon hearing this.
