I Rule Fortune-Telling Livestreams-Chapter 141: It’s Hailing
He understood what Shen Zhiyao meant, but all he could do was smile without a word, feigning indifference.
Zhao Jing, afraid the conversation would stall, quickly jumped in. "Miss Shen’s fortune-telling was way off this time. Why not try again? Miss Shen, take another look. Who else among us is going to have bad luck?"
And so, Shen Zhiyao’s gaze fell upon Zhou Lun once more.
Zhou Lun scoffed. "What? Don’t tell me you’re going to say I have a child, too."
"That’s right," Shen Zhiyao replied.
Enraged, Zhou Lun slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet. "I have a child? How come I don’t know I have a child? Damn, that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard! HAHAHAHA..."
Her expression unchanging, Shen Zhiyao said, "You do have children. They just were never born."
The smile on Zhou Lun’s face instantly froze. His expression turned cold as he said, "What nonsense are you spouting now? Aren’t you here for the show? Are you a guest or are you here to cause trouble? First, you cursed the show, saying it would be canceled as soon as it aired. Then you spouted more nonsense, saying Actor Sun has a son! And now you’re falsely accusing me of having children? Shen Zhiyao, what the hell are you playing at?"
Meng Xiaoxiao quickly chimed in to support him. "Zhou Lun isn’t even married. It’s not right for you to say things like that, is it?"
Shen Zhiyao shot back just as quickly, "Zhou Lun, are you unaware that too many abortions are bad for a woman’s body? Don’t you know that abortion goes against the Heavenly Dao? This kind of thing doesn’t just harm the woman; it harms the man, too! The reason I’m telling you this is because you’re currently shrouded in black energy. Your luck has run out. Cherish this last chance you have in front of the camera, because you’re finished!"
Zhou Lun slammed his fist on the table. "Director, I demand a new guest! I can’t stand this raving lunatic spouting nonsense here anymore! Today, either she goes or I go!"
He was so furious because Shen Zhiyao was right.
As an idol, Zhou Lun appeared glamorous on the surface, but in reality, his private life was a mess.
He never shied away from sleeping around and refused to use protection, which led to many girls getting pregnant.
But he didn’t care in the slightest. It was just a matter of spending a little money to have the girls get abortions; after all, he wasn’t short on cash.
It wasn’t his body being harmed, so of course, he didn’t give a damn.
Once, a female fan who genuinely liked him got pregnant. She cried and begged Zhou Lun to let her have the baby.
But he was ruthless. "You slut, you slept with me willingly. I didn’t force you," he said. "Besides, what does it have to do with me if you didn’t use protection? Medical technology is so advanced now, getting an abortion is as simple as getting your period. What’s there to cry about? You’re being so dramatic!"
Shen Zhiyao had publicly said he had many unborn children, so naturally, he was enraged.
He didn’t care if Shen Zhiyao had actually figured it out through fortune-telling or learned it through other channels. That settled it. They were enemies now.
Later, Zhao Jing stepped in with some placating words, finally calming Zhou Lun down and getting him to sit quietly to continue filming.
Zhou Lun said, "I’ll give Miss Zhao some face and let what just happened slide. But you have to post a video apology to me on Weibo, and you can never delete it!"
Shen Zhiyao let out a laugh of pure indignation. "I didn’t say anything wrong. Why should I apologize?"
Zhou Lun said, "And now the charlatan thinks she’s in the right?" 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Shen Zhiyao immediately retorted, "You keep calling me a charlatan, but can you tell me what I got wrong? Don’t be in such a hurry to deny your own business. Just you wait. Someone will expose the truth very soon. As for the weather problem you were just talking about—"
She pointed at the sky and said meaningfully, "Haven’t you noticed the thick layer of dark clouds that has covered the sky?"
They hadn’t noticed until she said it, and her words gave them a start. Everyone now saw that the clouds had suddenly multiplied and thickened.
The sun that had been there before was now nowhere to be seen.
Seeing this, Actor Sun’s brow furrowed unconsciously.
Meng Xiaoxiao’s expression also grew solemn. For a split second, the look she gave Shen Zhiyao changed imperceptibly. ’Is she... like me?’ she thought.
Only Zhou Lun was still talking brazenly. "It’s already 12:20. There are still ten minutes until your predicted time. Even if the clouds are really thick now, that could just mean it’ll rain tomorrow or the day after. There’s no way it’s going to rain in exactly ten minutes."
Shen Zhiyao said calmly, "Then let’s just wait and see."
The words had barely left her lips when the wind by the sea began to howl. The tablecloth was whipped into the air, and the sunshade overhead started to sway back and forth as if it would collapse at any second.
Seeing this, Zhou Lun felt a faint sense of unease.
Even Zhao Jing was getting restless. "Time feels like it’s passing so slowly," she said. "I’m actually a little curious now if that hail is going to fall at 12:30."
Zhou Lun said dismissively, "It’s already 12:25. I’d like to see if this hail actually falls. If it’s not raining and hailing by 12:30, being off by even one minute will count as your loss."
Shen Zhiyao didn’t speak. She just raised a finger to her lips, made a "shh" sound, and gestured for everyone to listen.
Zhou Lun rolled his eyes in disdain. "Tch. Such cheap theatrics."
But Meng Xiaoxiao said in surprise, "Listen! I hear thunder! It really sounds like it’s going to rain soon!"
"Don’t be so dramatic. Where’s the thunder? I don’t hear anything."
The moment he finished speaking, a flash of light ripped across the sky, followed by a deafening BOOM as a clap of thunder exploded.
The clouds in the sky were dense, and the world was instantly plunged into darkness.
A bad feeling crept into Zhou Lun’s heart. ’Damn, it’s not actually going to rain, is it...?’
Afraid that Shen Zhiyao’s words would come true, he said quickly, "What did you say just now? That it would rain at 12:30, right? It’s already 12:29! I’m telling you, even if you’re off by one minute, you’re still wrong!"
Making such a difficult demand was clearly just looking for trouble, but Shen Zhiyao didn’t seem to care at all. She just smiled faintly, an air of calm indifference about her.
The thunder continued, and time passed quickly.
An electronic clock hung behind them. Zhou Lun watched it, counting down silently in his head: ’Ten, nine, eight, seven... four, three, two...’
"It’s 12:30!"
The moment Zhou Lun’s words left his mouth, hailstones began to clatter down outside. The hail slammed against the metal top of the sunshade, making a loud banging noise.
At first, the hail wasn’t very dense, but it quickly intensified.
The hail came down in a torrential downpour, blanketing the distant sea and the nearby beach.
The production crew had assumed it would be a clear day and hadn’t prepared any protection against hail. Now, they all scrambled to huddle under the sunshade.
The main purpose of the stainless-steel sunshade was to block the sun. With the strong winds and the falling hail, it looked like it would be smashed through at any moment...
The production team had wanted to tough it out and keep filming, but someone from the crew shouted, "This is bad! The hail is coming down too hard! If we keep this up, all our equipment will be destroyed!"
The director had no choice but to yell, "Stop, stop, stop! Pause the recording for now! We’ll resume when the hail stops!"
Shen Zhiyao said coldly, "The hail is going to last for a long time. Also, this stainless-steel canopy is about to give way. We should leave."
