Chapter 68: She Did it So Effortlessly

While Darian was treating those two, Leon’s eyes kept scanning the surroundings.

’We just are in a huge shed, I don’t see anyone else here... what about other people who they have abducted till now?’ 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

’No good will come if I keep thinking, it’s just an endless thing.’

He let out a small sigh and looked towards Darian. "Are you done?" he asked.

Darian gave a small nod, got back up as he said. "Yes, my liege."

"They’ll wake up any second," he said.

Synthia did a feint movement, fingers flinched as she groaned. "So~ delicious~."

She kicked her lower lip and rolled on the ground a few times.

"Don’t you think she’s quite dense, master?" Sylphaine said, whispering in Leon’s ear.

He didn’t reply; his eyes remained fixed on them both as he crossed his arms.

Cain’s hand moved, raised it as he rubbed his eyes. "Ughh!!" A low groan left his mouth.

He pushed himself back up, sitting as his legs remained crossed. "Where are we?" he asked.

The blurry vision of his faded, and the thing he saw next gave him nausea.

He raised his finger as he pointed it towards something. "W-What’s this... ghost? I’m dead!?" he said, voice loud.

A knight with deathly pale skin stood right before his eyes. Dark purple waves of mana radiated from him, and a sword rested at his waist, clenched by dark purple armor.

Darian didn’t say anything, but his gaze remained fixed on Cain as if he was trying to assert dominance over him.

A loud groan left Cain’s mouth. He backed up slightly as he covered his face with his hand. "Ahhhh!!! Don’t kill me, I want to live... I haven’t even become the world’s best tactician yet."

"Don’t scare the kid, Darian," Leon said, arms crossed.

Cain’s gaze shifted towards Leon, who was standing about a meter away from him, his arms crossed.

He quickly made his way towards Leon, crawling. "LEON!!! Save me, please, I’ll do whatever you say..."

Leon let out a sigh. "Go back inside the core, Darian."

Darian quickly kneeled, his gaze shifted towards the ground as he said. "As you order, my liege."

"Give me a call, I’ll be there right away," he said, loyalty dripping through his voice.

Dark purple waves of mana started to surround Darian, circling him completely.

And soon after, Darian’s body got completely devoured by those waves as if he had never there.

Cain looked at that place once and then back at Leon. "W-What was that? Why did that ghost listen to your command?" he asked.

His eyes were completely welled with tears, almost about to roll down.

"You don’t have to know much about it," Leon said, his voice cold.

Cain’s body trembled, and goosebumps erupted through his skin because of Leon’s unusual demeanor.

Leon ignored him as he made his way towards Synthia, who was still unconscious.

He leaned next to her and touched his hand on her forehead. ’I don’t know if it’ll work, but I’ll try.’

He channeled his mana inside her veins, making it travel to her mana core as he passed a bit of his mana into it.

The moment he removed his hand, Synthia’s body flinched.

Her eyes opened wide, and a scream erupted through her mouth. "AHHHH!!! My food!!!" she said, slapping Leon’s face.

But before it could make an impact with his cheek, he grabbed her wrist. "You were dreaming, senior."

"There’s no food in here, and we’re not in the restaurant anymore, so wake up," he said, looking into her eyes.

Sweat beaded across her face, her cheeks lighting up with a blush as she noticed how close her face was to Leon’s.

She turned her gaze away, trying her best not to look at Leon’s face, his well-defined features partly hidden behind long strands of black hair.

"I-I’m sorry, newbie... for trying to hit you..." she muttered.

Leon shook his head slightly, letting her go. "It’s fine, senior."

"Your senses were dull, and under the sudden shock, so it’s fine," he said.

He got back up and said, "We got abducted by the old man and some other people, and are now in some unknown place."

"He had put somnalis pill in our food, which made us fall unconscious."

There was a huge door a few meters away from there, but it seemed as if it was locked from the other side.

"The door is locked from the other side. We have to find another way to escape from here."

"And by the things I have observed by now, I think there are more people who got kidnapped like us."

He took a small pause, looking around the room as he scanned it completely, not leaving even a small spot unseen.

A thought curled up in Leon’s mind.

’There isn’t any kind of way that we can use to get out of this shed.’

’Sylphaine,’

’Can you go through that door?’

"Yes, master, I can pass through solid objects."

’Oh? Well, then go through it and open it for us.’

"Leave it to me, master... I’m the one you can always rely on," she said, her voice had a feeling of pride buried in it.

A thin crack split the space beside Leon, green mana rippling out in silent waves. Moments later, Sylphaine stepped through it.

’Did you really need such a flashy entrance? What if those two notice you?’

"They won’t," she replied calmly. "I’ve concealed my presence, master."

"The mana fluctuations are visible only to you because our souls are bound."

Leon didn’t reply to her, just turned his gaze towards the door.

She took the signal and flew towards the door steadily.

Her body passed through the door effortlessly, as if it didn’t exist for her at all.
