Chapter 31: Staying at the Inn.

She then slid the drawer of the table and took a pouch of cloth out through it. When she opened the knots of it, it had multiple keys inside it.

She picked two keys and kept them in front of him on the table.

He extended his hand as he grabbed the keys and bowed lightly. "Thank you, ma’am."

The old woman gave a small smile to him and shifted her gaze back to the register, which was kept on the table.

His eyes shifted towards Synthia, and then towards the staircase, and then he started moving towards it.

Synthia followed behind him. Both of them reached the first floor of the building, their rooms were 202 and 203.

"Senior, we will meet tomorrow morning," Leon said as he opened the lock of room 202.

She gave a small nod as she entered her room.

Leon entered his room, and as soon as he reached inside, he sat on the bed and let out a long, tired yawn through his mouth.

"The journey sure was long." He said, as he lay down on the bed, back first.

His eyes were staring at the ceiling, there was a fan on the ceiling which was rotating, and a faint hum of its creaking sound filled the air inside the room.

Leon was silent, kept staring at the ceiling endlessly, but then a thought curled up inside of his head. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

’Hey, Draviel.’

Draviel didn’t reply to Leon’s call, just silence.

’How can I unlock more slots for summons?’

Leon didn’t get wavered by the stoic behaviour of Draviel, he kept pursuing him.

Draviel finally answered back to him. "You have to get through the awakenings, and you can get them by getting stronger." He said.

’Can you materialise yourself and help me in the fights now?’

"You’re still too weak for that, even if I materialise myself in a physical body, most of my strength would be sealed," Draviel said, voice deep.

’But still, it’ll help me a lot in my fights. If you’re my summon, then be useful for me.’

Draviel went silent for a while. There was no kind of movement inside the room, but then the space next to him started to fluctuate.

Dark mana appeared on his right, and small cracks that were imbued with a purple colour appeared in the air.

A tall figure with long black hair, which was falling off his shoulders, appeared. His dark, curved horns were traced by small strips of gold.

His face was pale, and it looked sharp and emotionless. His black long robe was clinging to him, and on his chest was a sigil that looked like a sun.

Leon pushed himself up, sitting on the bed now, legs folded. His eyes were fixed on Draviel, who had just appeared in front of him after a long time.

"So you can materialise in physical form, huh?" Leon said, voice low but firm.

"Yes, I can. But right now my strength is sealed." Draviel said, his voice was deep, but a bit politer than before.

Leon looked right into the eyes of Draviel, voice came out firm. "I would like to know a bit about you, Draviel." He said.

A tiny smile tucked up on the corner of Draviel’s lips, voice came out deep, almost ancient. "I didn’t consider you the rightful master of the Dark Grimoire till now."

He took a small pause and then continued. "But after seeing you fight in that battle against those inferior creatures, I have recognised your courage, mortal." He said.

’Why does he talk like he’s some kind of noble? That’s so cringe.’

Leon’s expression turned serious, voice came firm. "Tell me something about the previous owner of the grimoire, and why did I sense the mana waves of the grimoire?"

"You’re not capable enough to know about either of that yet," Draviel replied.

A small sigh escaped through Leon’s mouth, hand raised to the level of his hair as he brushed his hand through it.

"Let it be, I don’t want to force it all." He took a small pause in his words. "But for now, I want you to help me in my upcoming battles, behave like a summon of mine."

Draviel’s hand raised up to his face, and he covered his eyes with his hand as he started laughing.

The sound of his laughter filled the entire room, it was so loud that the air was getting disrupted by the shockwaves which were getting produced by his laugh.

Leon felt the mana of Draviel through his laughter, the waves of mana were getting shot out through his body as he kept laughing.

The waves were a little too strong for Leon’s weak body to handle. He raised his hand as he tried to cover his face with it.

He wasn’t able to withstand the mana of Draviel, so in the end, he tried to open his mouth and let his voice out. "THAT’S ENOUGH."

A loud voice filled the room, a bit of his mana was buried inside his voice.

Draviel stopped laughing, his gaze fell on Leon, who wasn’t looking fine at all. All of his hair was now messy, his face was covered with sweat, and his skin had turned a bit pale.

"Oh. I didn’t realise that you’re that weak, that you can’t even handle a bit of my mana, even in my weakened state." Draviel said, crossing his arms next to his chest.

Leon started taking deep, long breaths, trying to control his ragged breathing. His gaze shifted back on Draviel, voice came out a bit loud, firm. "You’re saying that your prowess is mostly sealed, and still you’re this strong?"

Draviel closed his eyes slightly and gave a small nod, agreeing with him.

Leon raised his hand up to his face, rubbed the sweat with the back of his hand. "Use that strength for me, Draviel."

"I’m your summon, I have to use it for you because I don’t have any other choice." He said, voice deep.
