’Now I can also take part in this battle.’ His gaze shifted towards the other Treants, which were a few meters away from him.
They sensed that one of their kin had died, and their senses shifted towards Leon.
All of them started rushing towards him, one by one, each one of them came.
"Aren’t you all doing an injustice by ganging up on a single man, huh?" He muttered under his breath as he raised his hand in the air and directed it towards the pack of Treants.
’There are five of them.’ Eyes scanned each one of the Treants closely.
He noticed the patterns on their trunks; each one of them had a different pattern.
Some had deep vertical cracks running down their bark, faint green mana glowing within like veins.
Others were covered in coiling vines and moss, their true forms almost hidden until they moved.
A few bore twisted spiral growth rings, warped unnaturally, as if corrupted by dense forest mana.
On certain trunks, the hollowed grooves reflected the distorted faces, and dim eyes were glowing from within the wood. Their roots were spread across the ground like tendrils, merging with the soil.
Not even a single one of them looked the same, but every one of them felt hostile.
A bead of sweat gleamed up on the temple of Leon, lips parted slightly as he started taking deep breaths.
’Trying to compose his mind for the upcoming fight. The opponents are all level 50. 35 level difference is huge...’
The dark mana started to surround his hand, the mana then took the shape of a small spear, the head of the spear was directed towards the Treants.
"Shadow Pierce." He muttered under his breath.
The spear of black mana left his grasp, travelled straight towards the Treant, which was at the front.
The spear landed directly on its face, creating a big hole inside its trunk.
Leon’s gaze remained focused on the Treant, but his voice came out loud. "Senior Synthia, your turn."
"You’re too demanding, junior." She said, her voice was loud, but a bit playful.
She pointed her finger towards the Treant, who had just been injured by Leon’s strike.
Two of her fingers were positioned straight towards it, and the bright mana, which was a bit blue in color, started to appear in front of her fingertips.
She closed one of her eyes, took her tongue out slightly as she tucked it to her left cheek.
The mana shot forward towards the Treant in the form of a bullet; the mana was travelling at the speed of light, and a small wave of bright light was being produced next to it.
The bullet travelled straight towards the head of it; the Treant wasn’t even able to do anything to prevent its death.
Mana Bullet pierced the head of the Treant in just a small second, and the body of the dead monster fell onto the ground with a loud THUD.
Synthia pulled her hand back and inhaled deeply, blowing softly over her fingers. Thin wisps of smoke curled from her fingertips, fading into the air with effortless grace.
"We don’t have any time to rest, senior," Leon said, eyes still fixed on the front.
"You don’t have to tell me about what to do, junior Ragnar," Synthia said as she shot another [Mana Bullet] towards the other Treant.
The bullet pierced through its trunk, and the body of it fell onto the ground.
Leon also rushed towards one of the Treants, extended his hand to his right, and soon after, the dark mana started swirling across his hand.
The mana started taking the shape of a dagger, and when the dagger was completely formed, he finally jumped on the tree and pushed himself towards the Treant.
Eyes were locked onto the Treant, but before he could land the hit, the branches grew out through the ground, and they were glowing with a weird crimson pattern.
His waist got wrapped by them, his mana slowly started to deplete.
’Wait... I’m losing my mana?’
"Newbie, that Treant is Runic Bark Treant. Its ability is to feed on one’s mana." Synthia’s voice came out loud.
He groaned under his breath as he lifted his hand in the air, used the remaining bit of strength of his muscles, and swung the dagger towards the branch that was wrapped around his waist.
The branch got cut in half, and Leon fell onto the ground with a loud THUD.
"Tch..." He groaned lightly.
He didn’t waste even a single second and pushed himself back on his two feet.
The other side of his hand started to get covered in the dark mana too, the mana took the shape of a sword.
There were two swords in his palms, eyes were fixated on the Treant, which was standing in front of him.
He took a deep breath as his eyes shut slowly.
A sigil, which looked like a circular shield, appeared on his chest. The sigil was glowing brightly with crimson color.
His gaze shifted towards his chest, eyes slightly widened. ’Wait.. What the hell?’
Multiple shards of wood got shot through the trunk of the Treant towards Leon.
His gaze shifted towards them, and he jumped to his right to dodge the shards, but failed.
The sigil that was marking his chest was guiding the shards towards Leon’s body.
He dodged most of them, but a few of them brushed across his skin and hair.
His clothes got torn off, and blood was dripping down his cheek endlessly.
"I can’t hold on any longer... Have to end this quickly." He muttered under his breath.
